Anyone do Japanese domestic transfer using a CitiBank-JP account to/from Gox?
I hear that Gox wont/cant do business with Citibank-US
and am wondering if that is a US Gov restriction or maybe Citibank's internal policy?

Nil's graph has helped me tremendously

Nil's graph? Link please?

I've also noticed if you play around with the volts on one module...it'll affect all modules..dunno if its just my unit or what but if i change the volts on one module...I get different hashrate/hw errors on all modules...or maybe i'm just seeing things idk hehe

This is the same in my experience and is why I OC but don't change the volts.
I couldn't get a good feel with the volts,
as even the way they react changes over an indefinable period of time.
It's like trying to mix paints and not understanding the underlying color theory.

Apologies for missing the (self set) deadline.
No Problem, Tyrion70, it's the holidays a delay is almost a given, belated Merry Xmas!
Thanks for the update.

I think I managed to make it work. Please have a look at my code and tell me if it is OK:

This code is for overclocking each individual die on each board to 850Mhz, so 16 total individual settings for boards at position 0, 1, 2, 3: http://pastebin.com/dSWrP4jF

It works, so I assume it is all good.

I think I understand it better now, so I will probably write a very detailed tutorial tomorrow for people who are not sure what they are doing. But first I will try to switch to BFGMiner to better fine tuning.

Looks good. But please, don't help add a couple hundred THs to the network by being the hero and writing an overclocking tutorial!

Anyway, you can change each individual die to whatever clock speed you want with your code. It's great for people who have issues with bad boards, but simply changing the preceeding 0x86 register will cover 95% of the people who have no bad dies without over complicating things:

Quote
if [ -n "$good_ports" ] ; then
                for p in $good_ports ; do
                        # Re-enable PLL
                        i2cset -y 2 0x71 1 $((p+1))
                        for c in 0 1 2 3 ; do
                                cmd=$(printf "0x84,0x%02X,0,0" $c)
                                spi-test -s 50000 -OHC -D /dev/spidev1.0 $cmd >/dev/null
                                cmd=$(printf "0x86,0x%02X,0x02,0x11" $c)

True that. I will refrain from making it easy for the average joe then.

Btw what are your observations in regards to unhappy dies?
One of my miners clocked with 201 is showing this: https://i.imgur.com/NSl59Iz.png

Shall I increase the voltage at the Advanced tab, then /config/zzz.sh restart or try first with more/less OC?

@CYPER
Please DO write a very detailed tutorial for people who are not sure what they are doing?
I made a contribution to tolip_wen for his shared work

Danny, given the recent news from Coinbase and Coinkite, are there any plans to offer a Neo API that can help us compete in the spaces they are exploring? A simple deposit-only API, to start with, to send BTC to a merchant's Neo account (from their website or their proprietary platform) might help drive innovation and allow Neo to compete with the likes of BitPay.  Cool

Bitcoin Featured in ‘Almost Human’, a Fox TV Show Set in the Year 2048
Posted By Jesús Cripto on Dec 17, 2013

Bitcoin is still anonymous in the year 2048 Smiley

Of course closed-captioning would spell Bitcoin wrong, it’s OK we the people forgive you.
It wasn’t that long ago that Bitcoin was first mentioned on the Fox network, outside of ignorant bits on Fox News, on American culture displayboard: The Simpsons.  I now suspect that we have some Bitcoiners hidden away in the better parts of the Fox Network.
Anyways, it’s likely you haven’t heard of Fox’s new show Almost Human, their latest foray into the science fiction genre. Almost Human is set in the year 2048 and follows the adventures of Detective John Kennex (actor Karl Urban recently of Star Trek fame).  In a background story similar to iRobot, Kennex previously suffered from a traumatic experience with robot-kind that left him temporarily without a leg: Kennex is now a cyborg that hates robot-kind, oh the irony.
Kennex is recalled to the force after recovering and assigned to work with a DRN android, designed to be as close to human as possible, known as Dorian (actor Michael Ealy).  While working a case, the two of them are investigating a dead body when voila, they come across a nondescript silver stick that Detective Kennex immediately identifies as Bitcoin.  Android Dorian then uses his finger to presumably hack into the device and tells Kennex that there are 4,999 units of Bitcoin.  Watch the clip below, then stay for my analysis!

The device shown in this futuristic portrayal of the world is similar to the Trezor Bitcoin Safe, being developed today.  The device shown would presumably be tied to the identity of the owner, though its exact method of identity verification is unknown, popular media chose to show that future law enforcement could “crack” whatever technology is being used.
The security on that device might have been a fingerprint scanner, but seeing as how those aren’t even fully secure in the year 2013 it is unlikely that they would be used to protect 4,999 units of Bitcoin in the year 2048.  It’s more likely that a cost-effective mechanism for verifying DNA through a small sample of blood or skin from the finger will be developed in the future to provide the ultimate form of security.
Next, Almost Human made no mention as to how much 4,999 units of Bitcoin would be worth in the future.  I’m telling you loud and clear right now that in the future 4,999 Bitcoins will be a fortune the size of a country, it is much more likely that they are just talking about millibits, or even just satoshis when referencing the number 4,999.  In fact, it isn’t even clear if even the android Dorian would be able to spend the Bitcoins on that shiny silver stick, maybe he was only able to read the associated public key and did a quick query of the blockchain to verify its balance.
All these crucial elements to Bitcoin have been portrayed by mainstream media just in this short clip.
Bitcoin is here to stay, even Fox thinks so.  Continue to check CryptoCoinsNews for more updates about Bitcoin and Cryptocoins in general.
Have a cryptic day, mis amigos.

Neptune Soldout
12/14/2013 6:06:00 PM
All,
Our first round Neptune products has now sold out.
We will be working with all of our suppliers to arrange another round of components so please keep an eye on our shop for future shipments of Neptune.
As it looks like our struggling competition may eventually ship before our Network protection period has finished, we may be in a position to release Jupiter’s and possibly upgrade cards which we will ship from stock.
If we do have more items to place in the shop for our 28nm range, we will announce this via one of our newsletters which will contain the time and date that they will go on sale. So keep some coins handy as we expect them to go quick.
Thanks
KnC team
31  Economy / Securities / Re: [IPVO] [Multiple Exchanges] Neo & Bee - LMB Holdings on: December 12, 2013, 09:24:04 PM
Since the thread is now calm, unlike last week, I'll bring this up again: I think that for first transfer Havelock->lmb-holdings there should be no fee.

I bought Neo shares on Havelock the first day of the IPO, and I don't see why I should pay an additional fee to have them on the official platform, which was not avaible back then. If the shares I bought on Havelock are "real", then why do I have to pay a fee for having them validated by lmb-holdings?

It would seem reasonble to me that the lmb->Havelock has a fee, since exporting your shares on a non-official platform with more liquidity is indeed a service TAT is offering, but not the other way around. Instead it's exactly the opposite! I would like to hear your (TAT's and Danny's) reasoning on this

1. When you bought shares on Havelock, you bought passthrough shares. Every right that you assumed when you bought those shares remains. There was never an implication of converting, migrating, or managing your shares in any way unmentioned in the prospectus.

2. There is cost, time, and liability involved with facilitating the management of your shares. There are monthly fees to even exist on Havelock at all.

3. Havelock shareholder records are backed up to multiple parties twice daily. No shareholder "needs" to move to direct shares. It is an optional service, and therefore, one with a fee.

4. People who buy new shares directly from Neo at original price are able to move those new shares to Havelock with no fee required. The reasoning here, again, is that we don't want to force anyone to pay a fee. This service still has the same internal costs to manage, but since everyone needs to sell shares eventually, and being that Havelock is currently the only place to do so, we understand charging a fee in that case would be unfair.

5. The fees also serve as "friction" to prevent people from abusing the service and to curb overwhelming customer service needs. People should only really be moving shares when they want to sell them, or if they feel safer storing them with Neo.

6. With security being a priority, manual oversight is currently required for every single transfer. Over time, we may automate aspects and add features and conveniences for shareholders.

@cryptocyprus Hi Danny can you verify that NEO-PR is legitimately connected to NEO and BEE? As well it has been asked multiple times but why do we have to pay a fee to transfer to direct shares on lmb-holdings? I have been a shareholder since the IPO and would have liked to have bought direct shares but they did not exist at the time. Please reconsider charging a fee to transfer to direct shares?

I love the idea of p2pool but I keep hearing there are issues with KnC Miners.
     Any stability issues for you?
Is it possible to merge mine(nmc, ixc, dvc) with p2pool and if so how difficult is it to set it up with your own node?

Anyone still arguing that the fees were a good purchase is so deep in denial... Quite funny to watch.

True, but only because RS released too many at once. If he had only released 5,000 at 0.4BTC it would be a different story.

Do you not think that was part of the plan?

1. Release a small amount of initial shares. The hypetrain pumps them far beyond their real value.
2. Freeze trading of shares, then dump a ton of shares on the market.
3. RS laughs all the way to the bank.

Most importantly number 2, this was extremely deliberate and calculated; he knew exactly what he was doing. I can't believe how many people here bought into this bullshit.
Stop with the FUD and worthless speculation.

FUD? Insider information? Please. The proof is right in front of you. How blind can you be?

so criticism is welcome but try and be constructive about it. Plz. Thx

What I tried to underline is that:
a) I have no idea what caused my Saturns problems, my Jupiter running on the same line and same PSU type was not affected
b) The Saturns came with all boards affected by die #0 issue, (same as my Jupiter), they are running with die #0 off on 0.98
c) Both Saturns ran pretty well on 0.98.1 beta, one of them easily powering all dies, the other required more heat and was really hard to keep all dies powered on
d) Once 0.99 was released, i switched all my machines to it and for a day or two, they were running the same as on 0.98.1 beta
e) All of a sudden, both Saturns became affected with disabled cores, but in a different way: one of them simply has all cores disabled at startup (and keeps them like that) on 0.98.1 beta or official and 0.99. The other one starts normally, but after a while almost all cores on the same ASIC (coincidence?), the lower one on the web interface, gets disabled, only 0-5 cores remaining enabled on each die. Again, disabled cores are present on just one ASIC, the lower one in the web interface page.
This started at a day or 2 after 0.99 and the problem remained even after hard reset and affecting 0.98.1 as well, beta or official.
f) Both Saturns run normally (with their die #0 issue) on 0.98

My guess was that 0.99 FW somehow caused this issue, but it just persists now on 0.98.1 as well.
I initially had a similar issue with FW 0.99.
This was my fix:

1. Try flashing FW 0.90
2. Do a hard reset either via KnC recommended 5 push/5sec/5push reset or
hold reset button about 30 sec until red light flashes
3. Pull power wait 30 sec and plug power back in
4. Enable-cores
5. Run for an hour or so despite speed not being ideal unless speed is nothing
6. Upgrade back up to FW 0.98.1 Beta
7. Hard Reset and Hard Power Cycle 30 Sec
8. If after rebooting and a hour of running speed does not seem ideal
run enable-cores(sometimes you have to rerun enable-cores multiple times, 3 seems the average for me)

(if after all 8 steps it doesn't work try again from step 1 using FW 0.94)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
These machines are extremely fickle
sometimes requiring multi boots, resets, and FW flashes
to stabilize/optimize performance but
what do you expect with leading edge hardware and
would you of rather waited for more stable(tested) hardware and lost significant profits..
