yo

dont overclock the core ...

just memory.

go +300 on memory to start, underclock the core, lower power limit to 60.

Thank you very much, decreasing the power limit bellow 90% starts eating a lot of perf away so might not be a great chip. did get it stable at +675 memory resulting in just over 29 mh/s

very happy with the boost

the cheap options to buy locally are

HP 2250W, IEC-C20
HP 500172-B21
HP 579229-001

any good info on those? The first one is an insane bargain at 60 euro

So I would have to solder the connectors on a server psu, that could be a problem with my dad's 30y old cheap iron
Yes, and you'd have to know which points to solder on to. Some PSUs are heavily documented and you can usually find the points on RC forums as those people also heavily rely on server PSUs to power their batteries.

One guide you can use is this:
https://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/how-to-modify-a-server-power-supply-for-12v.5774/

You just need to get a PCIE 6pin or 8pin on there and you should be fine.

Depending on the PSU it should look like this when done, with 6pin connectors at the end of the cables:

http://holybitcoin.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/HolyBoard04.jpg

Finally, don't use high-AWG cables. You'll end up with burned or melted connectors/cables. I typically see 16 or below.

EDIT: As Phil said below you can just use a breakout board with preinstalled cables but soldering can save you a little bit. I prefer the saving money route.

Thanks a lot, being from europe the import tax would start to smell of atx prices, and reviews seem very negative about the quality. Might be a cool project to try out myself

I advise you to wait for the finished product, at least the test version. The fact that the developers do not open wild data (even just photos of the office with coin symbols) is very disappointing.
Developers, I ask you to take a photo-video of your office, place of work, it will not be able to disclose your personal data in any way, but it will greatly increase the level of trust.
As I now see the situation, this can be a great project or a fraud (you have well advertised your activity, and now you have launched a preliminary purchase and nothing hinders you before the release of the test version, just a chasm with the money received on the initial purchase).
I await your thoughtful answer, I hope my question will not be ignored. Sorry for my bad english.

Please don't FUD. Take some time to go through the thread and if English is not your first language please find a local ann.

There is nothing in this project to fraud. The pre-sales are escrowed. and the ICO itself happen after exchange is ready... In fact personal data about devs are not even needed if they structure it this way. This is better for security, maybe people won't trust but in the long term much better for exchange security. but who knows maybe they will reveal all about them, I hope not , its better that private key holders remain non-public.

problem is that their product is a limited closed beta and most people during the ICO can't test anything. Couple that with claiming to be from big companies but have nothing listed in what fields they worked and a VERY flimsy whitepaper and I am very skeptical yes.

also where did you get the escrow info from? couldn't find anything about it.
The idea is there and I would love to participate but not interested in showering plants with money that don't intent to grow
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v9.8 (Windows/Linux) on: August 09, 2017, 05:13:10 PM
How can I tell claymore miner to ignore one gpu?
and alternativly to mine something else on one gpu.

so far I have been disabling the gpu in device manager when launching claymore but that is kinda silly

press 0-9 in claymore when it is active 0 shuts down mining on gpu 0   1 on gpu 1 and so on

Or if you have 6 gpus and you do not want to use one set -di 0,1,2,4,5 in bat file. In this case the program will not mine with fourth card

thanks for the replies but it is not working. The reason I want this, is due to a lack of ram on that one gpu
claymore still tries to make the DAG and there simply is no ram for it resulting in total failure

alternatively anyone have an idea to make the bat file disable one gpu for 1minute, that would make claymore fail to recognize it

Wow, just wow.  This could be huge.  It'll be interesting to see how the US approaches this.  On one side I can see the US attempting to stop Russia from monopolizing this currency and competing against them... but on the other the US doesn't want any other currency to become popular.  Every foreign currency that goes into BTC is currency that's not holding the US dollar for reserve.

Also, jeez... 1.3 cents per KwH??  In the US, land of prosperity and dreams, I pay 12 cents per KwH.   Embarrassed

Yea right and here in europe I pay almost double that
Doubtfull the US gov would want to get involved in fact BTC is still very unknown to the general population there, and the gov has only been negative about it. I do wonder when India gets into mining, they already put a lot of cash into the system
29  Bitcoin / Hardware / ATX vs server psu's price on: August 08, 2017, 11:48:39 PM
I have a good grasp on specs and ratings of ATX power supplies, What I don't understand is why HP can provide a platinum 1200watt psu for 60dollars, while atx psu's of that spec go over 200. The form factor can't have such a big impact on the price right?
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / GTX 1070 any OC with claymore results in invalid shares on: August 08, 2017, 11:36:38 PM
Been Dual mining ETH and Pascal for a month at 25.5mh/s and 255.000mh/s respectively on my gtx 1070

Then I realized everybody is claiming 30mh/s and tried my hand at overclocking the memory +700 and the core +350 with msi afterburner. Things where looking great at 29mh/s and it ran fine for half a day. And then I got error after error, invalid shares, and black screens.

Tried reducing the oc but nothing worked, just applying a profile with no overclocks got me invalid shares. Without afterburner and back to stock he is happily mining again at 25.5mh/s

I have an asus strix 1070 8gb, is this just afterburner being funny and should I try another OC tool or did I get very unlucky with the silicon lottery

When will you disclose the team members? And release some interviews with them. Just anything to legitimize your existance
