21  Economy / Exchanges / Re: HitBTC.com - The most advanced cryptocurrency exchange on: August 31, 2019, 10:23:54 AM
What is current withdraw fee for BTC on HitBTC?

I have found somewhere that they have withdrawal fee around 15$ Shocked

All other exchanges have 50K Satsohi arround 5$ or less.

22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I've just put ALL my student savings into TURTLECOIN ($50K) on: August 27, 2019, 11:27:50 AM
Given that you bought TRTL for $0.00008, now your investment has almost halved, because the price of TRTL is now $0.00005. I don’t know why you chose this particular coin for investment, because I saw a lot of coins with similar characteristics. They are no different from other coins and do not have any unusual features that are not found in other projects. What exactly attracted you to this coin?

Do you really believe that someone could really invest so serious money in any alt coin? Grin
I would do something like that only if I were inside the inner circle of people that have real time information regarding the stage of coin and exact plans+2 years in the future.

That would mean investing and not gambling. Wink

26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: August 11, 2019, 09:44:52 PM
It seems the game is over for ETH when they have solution how to scale this network and the whole team is making everybody dream so high. Maybe we will never see this again on such a high price.

This is something that I was thinking about, people always ask when? But real question is; If ever again?
So what is the next step in ETH development that could trigger so big change and increase demand on the market? Huh

27  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance KYC leak, KYC issue on: August 11, 2019, 09:37:35 PM

Which makes me most disgusted is knowing that the hacker is demanding 300 BTC. a very bad and criminal attitude, because he is blackmailing

Would he be less bad in your eyes if he just politely asked them to for only 150 BTC Grin Cheesy

I am more disgusted that they tried to cover it up and deny it and at the same time created that reward for any information about the leak.

For that same reason GDPR was defined, any party that holds data about customers, and finds out about the breach no matter how is made; hacker attack or just leak from angry stuff, is obligated to report in strictly defined time frame, otherwise that could be interpreted as cover up and will be legally sanctioned. Cool

28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Noob here, Need information for CPU mining on: August 11, 2019, 04:37:34 PM
I'm totally a newbie in mining. Only have read some articles regarding mining.
I'm interested in CPU mining since it's easy as far as I know. However I have zero knowledge on it.

What equipments do I need in CPU mining?
How can I start CPU mining?

Same things as you need to GPU mining,  minus the GPU  Grin, all other hings are the same.
Some software and some pools on which you will be mining.

Or just install NiceHash and see what can you get with your configuration for starters, you will soon get info about how much cents or dollars you can get per day.

After that you can play with solo mining and some particular coins without btc conversion.

29  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Hardware wallets still aren't secure, and they never will be. Use paper wallets on: August 11, 2019, 10:20:17 AM
Indeed paper wallet is a better option than a hardware wallet.

Paper wallet is just that, piece of paper it cannot function without other part, and that is the main problem, it's not suitable for most people. And also main question is "better for what exactly" > storing, using, or both, or neither of that?

I would say its nice thing  to create and load it with some BTC and after that gift it to someone that you want educate how crypto works.

30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: this is what every country will do on: August 11, 2019, 07:14:28 AM
All you have to do is stick to crypto, avoid the exchanges. Pay and be paid in crypto directly. Bitcoin cannot help you if you insist in exchanging it for fiat, thats where governments and institutions mess things.

Yes but it is stated "in and also out" so you are still bounded to some ways to go into the crypto that involves someone who can report you to the government. That would be step back for sure because regular people will not want to do something like that. for example meeting with unknown people to buy BTC from them or having a miner in their garage just to get some BTC.

Problem is that for fiat money that limit when the bank needs to report transaction to authorities is much higher while at the same time for crypto that limit is at least 10x less.

31  Economy / Economics / Re: Fiat Money is a Bubble on: August 11, 2019, 06:48:05 AM
Since many people try to convince us that Bitcoin is a bubble and how we will lose our money eventually, I wonder if money is not a bubble actually. There exist economies in which money has a positive value in spite its market fundamental is zero. That means fiat money has zero value. Fiat money is a social contrivance. We take money from other people because we know other people will take it from us. In theory and practice the fiat money is a bubble.

Why would anyone call fiat money "the bubble"?
Can the money be worth more or less? Yes it can butt that is not the reason to call it a bubble because what ever happens money will still be there, it doesn't matter if you live in mountains or somewhere in the city where are people and banks around and you can utilize that money in every day life.

If the systems as we know it  collapse, crypto will be worthless,  same as the fiat money and I think people are delusional if they think anything else.

In case of major electricity breakdown, you could still go out and buy food and medicine with paper money, but can you do anything with crypto without internet and electricity? Roll Eyes

32  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Porez na bitcoin i kriptovalute 2018-2019 on: August 09, 2019, 03:48:44 PM
Ja uopce ne kuzim placanje poreza. Uopce!

Stoga par hipotetskih pitanja:

netko je 2014 rijesio BTC blok i zaradio 25 BTC

izmednju 2014 i sada razmjenio 25 BTC u sve moguce crypto-valute. neke su cak sada i mrtve Cheesy
uglavnom, nikakva evidencija nije vodjena

all in !

sta porezna u tom trenutku moze zakonski napraviti?

33  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance KYC leak, KYC issue on: August 09, 2019, 03:28:22 PM
It seems that they or their contractor really somehow manage to lose bunch of user data now flowing around the internet.
This could end very bad for them, because if they had a breach and didn't report that on time this could result in some big fines regarding data loss.

"
Under the GDPR individuals can bring private claims against both data controllers and data processors. ... Successful private claimants may currently be awarded compensation for personal data breaches
"

It seems they are at least trying to figure things out

"Binance has offered a reward of up to 25 bitcoin, worth around $290,000, to anyone with information that leads to the identification of the hacker."
34  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Hardware wallets OLED Display Vulnerability[Trezor One, Ledger Nano S/X, etc.] on: August 09, 2019, 03:15:39 PM
This is the kind of exploit you only see happen in movies.
No I'm sorry, but there is a real danger for the exchanges and the custodial wallet providers if they are using those devices for their cold wallets. Some "evil maids" or employees could use this vulnerability.

Why would exchange employee even bother to trying detect real number on the oscilloscope when he already have access to PIN and seeds? If he doesn't have something like that he would need to stole the wallet and then try to extract seeds in controlled environment and for that to happen he would need to have specialized equipment and then try to return wallet intact back to the exchange office.

35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][WALLET] A new Ethereum wallet, you control your private keys - HelioWallet on: August 09, 2019, 07:21:41 AM
I cannot find anything about people who created this wallet, only your words  " We are a team of blockchain-enthusiasts developers"

I Don't understand this type of projects where people want others to believe in their projects but themselves cannot stand behind their own idea publicly. Huh

Does that make any sense?

36  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: eElectrum wallet will not connect to any server on: August 08, 2019, 05:10:39 PM
For anyone experiencing situation where your Electrum wallet stays in status "not connected" I just had that same experience with version 3.3.8

I have opened firewall port for application but my problem was still the same, after that I checked network traffic and it seems  that wallet tried to use my virtual network vmware port instead of the real one.

I made one quick check by just unplugging the Ethernet cable and turn on my WiFi. After that started the wallet again and it connected right away and the orb in the right corner went from red to green.

I hope that helps someone with the same problem I had.  Wink
37  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Hardware wallets OLED Display Vulnerability[Trezor One, Ledger Nano S/X, etc.] on: August 08, 2019, 06:46:42 AM
I still don't understand how could user be affected by this discovery even without updating to the latest firmware?

It is clearly stated that they aren't aware of any equipment that could actually do something like that to Trezor wallet or any hardware wallet with that kind of display.
They say that Trezor wallet don't need to be tampered and also that equipment needed for this kind of attack cannot be found in any circuitry available on USB or PC, only in electronic labs for example oscilloscope etc... So you can only do something like this in controlled environment to have any chance of success.

"This attack is possible without any modifications to the hardware wallet itself, but requires unique components that are typically not present in USB circuitry."

Lots of smoke for nothing. Wink
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LAUNCH] GINcoin | One-click masternodes LIVE on: August 08, 2019, 05:44:34 AM
No. They didn’t.

GIN is the perfect example to make altcoin holders alert.
Really should have sold more at the top...

Well, its seems that they just didn't have any backup strategy altogether. It was obvious for some time now that masternodes cannot pay all the expenses especially cheaper ones that are flooding the market with their high emitting amounts that only deprecating value of all holders. If you calculate expenses for infrastructure you can easily see that they were bleeding money for some time but i really expected some kind of progress on other fields so when the time comes to pull the plug they would eventually be ready, it seems they just didn't have enough energy or money to do so.

39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Happened with ETH ? on: August 07, 2019, 11:04:00 AM
Nothing happened, it's just reduction of demand, ETH could not hold the price at that level anymore.
First there are no so much ICO happening in 2019, next big factor is small transaction fees of BTC so people don't need buy ETH for cheaper transactions.

That would be the 2 biggest reasons why ETH price couldn't keep up with the price, don' think it has any other reason behind the story or alt season altogether.

40  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Safest cold storage options currently on: August 06, 2019, 10:35:09 AM
you can do this using Electrum or using https://www.bitaddress.org/

 - Download an open-source (Linux) system using the official URL.
 - Download Electrum using the official URL & verify the signature.
 - Boot your OS from an offline PC (It is better to remove internet Hardware parts) and install Electrum wallet (that contain the private key).
 - Create a watch-only wallet.
 - use online PC to access to that wallet (watch only).
 - Create a new transaction ----> click Preview ----> check everything is correct ----> click save or generating a QR code.
 - open your offline OS -----> open Electrum ----> Load Transaction or use a QR code  ----> check it is correct -----> click Sign ----> enter your password.
 - back to your online PC ---> Load Transaction ----> Broadcast it.

For this you need to have 2 PCs and fiddle around with them, not practical at all if you need to use it, only for deep freeze usage, not even cold storage. Grin

For the amount of money you can buy Trezor One or Ledger nano it's just isn't worth the fuss and you get the same thing, 2 points of security that mitigate attack if one point gets infected.
