26  Economy / Economics / Re: WILL BITCOIN BE USED BY ALMOST EVERYONE IN 2022? on: October 18, 2017, 08:54:54 PM
...

Will BTC be used by almost everyone in 2022?

Nope.  I know very few "Millennials" who use it, yet they are the most connected people around.  There is no way that my Boomer generation will adopt BTC as is, it's just too complicated and clumsy.  "Not ready for primetime."

There are not enough merchants who accept it.  In my eyes, this is perhaps the major stumbling block.

There is ALWAYS the possibility of unknown types of future attacks (of various sorts) against the Bitcoin Ecosystem.

BTC is too volatile for mass use.

While I wish BTC well (and have a nice little stake), I think it will move slowly.

Yes but we are talking 5 years time not now... I think we will see mass adoption by 2022.

30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which ICOs you suggest to November on: October 10, 2017, 11:35:00 AM
I like Science Token https://science.tokenhub.com/

Since Science started in 2011, we’ve co-founded and invested in more than 70 companies and exited multiple companies including Dollar Shave Club (acquired by Unilever for $1B), HelloSociety (acquired by New York Times) and FameBit (acquired by Google). We have a track record for identifying legacy industries and creating platforms for innovation.

We believe that blockchain is the next major platform for innovation and a foundational technology – that it has the ability to change the way both business and social structures work. For this reason, we are creating a new incubator to partner with leading entrepreneurs to build a portfolio of blockchain and cryptocurrency related businesses that are positioned for long term success. We expect many of the companies will take a long journey to success, so we will work with entrepreneurs to set up their businesses with this in mind, which means appropriate legal, technical, and operational structures and controls. Like any other business, a blockchain-related business must have solid operational underpinnings to survive and thrive, and we are perhaps the best in the world at providing this guidance to emerging businesses while reducing or eliminating the common causes of startup failure.

In short, we want to use our expertise at company building to help what we anticipate will be the best blockchain entrepreneurs build the software giants of the next century. We believe our token holders should benefit from access to a stream of new tokens from our carefully incubated portfolio companies. In turn, investors should as a result, participate in any upside from ownership of the Science Tokens, as the proceeds from acquisition of portfolio companies are used to repurchase those tokens on the open market.

32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Soft cap on: October 09, 2017, 10:39:27 PM
I think most ICO's put the soft and hard cap details in the white paper.

Hello, folks,

Unfortunately, I will have to end the bounty campaign due to reasons beyond my control.
I hired Spaceman_Spliff as a "campaign manager" and have paid him around 3 thousand dollars to take care of the bounties for the smoke exchange project.
He has gone missing for a week and now comes back asking to hand the campaign over to someone else and demanding additional money.

At this point, I will simply have to cut my losses and face the inevitable fact that I once again have been ripped off by a bitcointalk member.

I have copied down all of the information from everyone who participated in the bounty and will make sure everyone receives their coins at the end of the ICO process.

I apologize for the inconvenience and recommend that you do not do business with spaceman_spliff.
I have given him a negative trust rating and unfortunately, I imagine he will retaliate and do the same thing to me.

Here is the transaction ID's showing proof of payment on my end.

Thank you, everyone, for your support and understanding. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Dopey

Bad news for everyone like me who support this campaign. I hope you reconsider your decision and hire someone to continue this bounty campaign.

I was hoping the same!

37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you usually do after token sales? on: September 28, 2017, 02:10:51 PM
Really depends on the company and the dev team and if I like the project, After it is released on to a big exchange like bitrex then I decide if I 'm long or short. even if I do sell I always keep a few back for rainy day.

39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: All this Speculation is meaningless or please correct me on: September 27, 2017, 09:22:38 PM
If you think about it the same way as gold being a peg for most other metals. gold goes up and so does silver.

Some times a commodity is strong enough to be a peg. I think Bitcoin is a peg for the whole crypto market.
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will holiday season affect ICOs?? on: September 27, 2017, 09:13:50 PM
I see a lot of ICO's finishing before November end, I would bet that not so many Ico's would be starting again til late Jan to early Feb. Most people would be with there family over holiday and new year and be spending on presents etc. big money goes away for at least a month over holidays.
