On an exchange of currency, both are buyer and seller. None can considerer himself the sole seller. The rule has to be, trust only member with solid reputation. In case of any doubt, ask the address of the other party and check on blockchain.info or www.cryptocoinexplorer.com if the other party has the amounts he is claiming and send small tranches, waiting each time for his payment. Or use an escrow system, like the one used by bitmit.net What would you do in the case where you trading for a currency that can't be escrowed? Like ripple, or virtual game tokens, xbox live points, ect. True but in this case it was an Amazon gift card. I think you can get the trusted escrower to redeem it and then buy another one for the same amount using the gift card funds. You can't buy Gift Cards, with Gift Card funds. I tried already. |

I have sold MMORPG items before via Amazon and got the cash and orderd items before. I did quite a few at Christmas. |

Do you know how an auction works? (Not that this was an auction considering this comment "- I reserve the right to turn down offers -") That was too avoid someone winning it for like 0.1 BTC and then saying I scammed because I didn't honor it. |
