Obelisk January Update:
By now, many of you have heard that Bitmain announced the Antminer A3 last week and has started shipping units to customers. The A3 mines Siacoin at a hashrate of 815 GH/s and power usage of 1186 W. This means that, when the Obelisk SC1 ships, it will not be the first Siacoin ASIC miner to market.
The Obelisk SC1 is slated to outperform the A3, with 800 GH/s hashrate at only 500 W. These are minimum specs, and we expect the SC1 to perform even better than promised. This is good news: based on current A3 specs, the SC1 will be far more competitive.
We are currently on schedule with SC1 and DCR1 production, and will have test chips back in March. If all goes well, we could be shipping Batch 1 units in May, and Batch 2 units six weeks later. Our official ship dates are still June 30 for Batch 1 and August 31 for Batch 2.
Forking the Network The Sia community is currently debating a soft-fork that would exclude all Bitmain A3 units from the Sia network, while leaving Obelisk SC1 units fully operational. We encourage you to contribute to this discussion, and ask that you disclose your status as an Obelisk customer when commenting. Discussion is taking place on Sia's Discord and Subreddit.
Wire Transfers Due to large amounts of fraud on our accounts, our bank has asked us to disable wire transfers for the duration of Batch 2 sales. We will do our best to work with our banking partners to re-enable transfers, and add other cryptocurrency payment options to future batches. As of today, wire transfers have been disabled on all new orders.
Batch 2 Progress We have currently sold 1,350 DCR1 and 1,996 SC1 units. Batch 2 will close on January 31, and we will open Batch 3 soon after.
And, so you can make an informed purchasing decision, we sold 2,963 DCR1 and 3,598 SC1 units in Batch 1. Thank you so much for your support! Please let us know if you have any questions. Best, - Team Obelisk

any of these companies could have dropped with Bitmain is doing, they have no, in fact are taking pre orders for August for god sakes....
Bitmain was first to the punch, now they wanna take their ball and go home??? come on
|
|
|
Did they end up releasing more yesterday / last night??
|
|

Obelisk strikes back We prepared for something like this by adding an extra feature to the SC1. We can do a soft-fork that slightly changes the PoW algorithm which would invalidate the bitmain ASICs, but allow the SC1 units to continue working.yeah well you do that IN AUGUST lol

I bought the Decred miner also for August (but its sooooooooooooooo long away)
|
|
|
I was gonna buy like 20 - 25 at your $4400 price point

sadly the next batches weren't so lucky...... I bought those too lol

Please don't look at that number and think it's what you'll actually make. If you were around a few months ago for the D3, this is the same thing. The Bitmain business model: 1) Bitmain announces a new miner for a niche algorithm 2) Profit calculators show that you can make what a medium sized S9 mine makes with just one machine, ~$20,000 per month 3) Everyone for whatever reason believes these numbers and buys it 4) Bitmain makes god knows how many millions of dollars off the hype 5) Everyone gets their machines and they're bummed out because the difficulty for that niche algorithm skyrockets and you're left with a near worthless machine 6) Repeat Like I said, I've never gotten an email directly from Bitmain letting me know the exact date and time their S9 will be back in stock, but I've gotten multiple emails about this A3. They're trying to push them out as hard as they can and sell as many as they can while they can. cant say that. D3's were months out these are 10 days + D3's did profit pretty well first batch Well regardless of whether these are being released in 10 days or 2 months, the market will be flooded with them either way in both scenarios once they're released. Did the D3 do pretty well the first batch though? I didn't follow the profits too closely but from what I was told, people didn't make their money back with them, that's why eBay is flooded with them right now and they're selling for nearly as little as the S7 is selling for which is 3 year old hardware. first batch did very well for me, NO not $500 a day well but well, ROI in 9-10 days

How can I get only 1 A3 miner it's really difficult to get through the website
they might sell some more tonight , stay on thier twitter from what I understand they are, a few top of every hour starting at like 11am their time GMT+8
|
|

Since I've been mining for like a year now I've found most online calculators to be way short in the estimates that can be made. Especially in the monthly amount as the price goes up daily your profits can be twice as much.
that happens for sure.... also the other way tho lol

Greed??? I paid for them not stole them..............
NEVER greed when you lay out hard earned money.
I always buy 25+ units when I order
Hope they Cancel? sound like a bitter school girl who stayed up all night for "add to cart" becomes available and missed it with your slow internet connection.
stop being a little bitch
2 or even 5 accounts i can see, I have funds to order 10 as well but , creating 12 accounts to circumvent the system is lame 😒 no whats lame is the D3 mess the fucked people. whats lame is people like you (supposed to be on the same team here) NOT wanting other members to recoop what D3's did...... for those of us that missed it, what happened with the D3s? too many were sold, the diff went through the roof, THEN power supplies were delayed, soo by time most D3's showed up, they were damn near obsolete

Criminal??? fucking clown
I'm a criminal because a bought miners??? get your life together lol
Go back to your under 12 chat rooms
way to derail the thread 12accounts , Idgaf that you ordered a bunch of miners the issue is you created 12 accounts to do it which is against the spririt of the launch youre probably the type of guy thst skips the line at the dmv or breaks every rule in sight to get ahead do you bro , dont get pissy cuz you got called out. 12 accounts is FLAT wong dumbass Called out? Umm Asshat I came on here and FREELY admitted it, if I didn't NO ONE would ever know, unless you were sitting behind my 8 monitors were you? you seem creepy enough lol Also do you think I had time once they released (and I found out 1 per order) I had time to create and verify 12 accounts email and phone before it was sold out? ?? really? I'm not that fast, I HAD these accounts because its always been a PITA to get Miners at release time as anyone here who actually buys them will tell you.... Ive never needed 12 accounts or 12 phone numbers to order from bitmain Idk what u are talking about, I bought 2 A3 myself , 1 for me and my brother got one on his own account so I have no reason to be salty. the point is is YOU are doing this the retailers are doung the same thing and bitmain should put a stop to it Im done with this conversation btw Resellers are scum, they do it to fuck people, don't compare me to them

If you look at the responses from other members, people here are smart, they know the struggle with mining, they understand the gamble.
