23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your favorite way to cash out? on: February 18, 2019, 09:40:26 AM
the two times I cashed out was with Coinbase for one which is a bit slow through the bank transfer and as a swap to paypal which I know is risky.
interestingly I haven't paid tax on the Coinbase deposit to my account, I hope this falls under the radar but im sure for larger amounts alarm bells would sound and banks would like to find out where the funds came from.
24  Economy / Economics / Re: South Korea leaning towards blockchain related activities on: February 18, 2019, 09:33:39 AM
things are starting to pick up in relation to blockchain adoption. recently we have seen a few more states in the U.S accepting bitcoin and many countries looking to attract blockchain fintech companies and startups. they see potential in blockchain.
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Where can I buy? on: February 18, 2019, 09:26:04 AM
I have used both Coinbase and Bitpanda and I am in the EU also.
I assume you are buying with bank transfer or card? if so im not sure if Binance or Kraken support these methods

27  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Selling items online for Bitcoin or crypto on: February 17, 2019, 04:35:32 PM
Selling something online for bitcoin means really that you are selling to a very niche market, i.e those that want to buy using bitcoin, and that want the product that is for sale.
28  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Now you can buy Bitcoin from the grocery store on: February 17, 2019, 04:21:45 PM
i really want to install these machines ATM in my resturant.in coming few months i already ordered, so people will pay their bill in crypto.

Good to hear you will be accepting bitcoin and crypto.
I am wondering if anyone has asked you to accept bitcoin payments? Is there a demand?
29  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: lost bitcoin on: February 16, 2019, 06:47:24 PM
Helix Light shut down over a year ago. Their official site was http://grams7enufi7jmdl.onion/. The site you found is a fake. I'm afraid you have been scammed, and your bitcoin are lost.

Grams ceased operations on December 16, 2017 (PGP signed verification by gramsadmin). Any site claiming to be operating the Helix Light mixing or tumbling service is a fake and you will be scammed out of any money you put into it.

It seems that a scammer has edited the bitcoin wiki page to point to another fake site, but a different fake to the one you used.

Unfortunately there is too much interference in this and similar fraud about crypto coins.

I'm sorry about the Bitcoins you lost. I hope you find a way to get it back.

The OP wont be getting those coins back unfortunately.
There are plenty of mixing sites why did the OP choose Helix Light?
Just goes to show how cunning scammers are, they put a lot of effort into scamming its a pity they dont use that energy in a legitimate way.

32  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SOLUTION TO KNOW IF SATOSHI NAKAMOTO IS REALLY DEAD.... on: February 14, 2019, 07:42:05 PM

Do you think bitcoin is decentralized? There is 20 mining pools that rule the bitcoin, 20 mining pools are 20 boss in the world and some of them have the same boss!
99% of bitcoins are in the hands of 1% of the miners, you call this decentralized?

Stop with the Satoshi dead or alive.
I thought it was full nodes which controlled bitcoin, they validate the transactions.
If miners controlled bitcoin why don't they change it to their own benefit?
Those 1% of miners might be in control of the hashing power but they are not in control of bitcoin itself.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about the future of cryptocurrencies.... on: January 20, 2019, 07:35:23 PM
I have started having cryptocurrencies since 2016, I have always bought for me Hold, until now I have never sold it by looking at the market conditions that are getting worse my mind becomes anxious and afraid. because my savings funds run out on crypto assets. and my biggest regret is why I didn't sell it at high prices in  2017, could that opportunity come back.....

Of course, anything is possible but you have to be patient because it could be 5 years away.
You shouldn't be panicking, if you bought bitcoin and other good crypto in 2016 you are still showing big profit.
34  Economy / Economics / Re: You were warned on: January 12, 2019, 11:20:15 AM
There is no demand for oil or gasoline which are the main fuel for the economy. Nobody's buying gas, it's building up in repositories. If nobody's buying gas, nobody's driving, products aren't moving, the economy is NOT growing.
What do you mean there is no demand on these things? People are still buying gas and oil and they need it.
Could you please explain it further and include the data?

The terminology might not be correct, in the future there will be less of a demand on oil or gas.
I woukd like to see the data on all this oil being stockpiled
35  Other / Off-topic / Re: One thing I am Glad for in 2018 on: January 12, 2019, 11:00:40 AM
I do not share the same sentiments, last year was not the worst year for crypto, it was just different.
There are still some people who think everything is going to always positive and without controversial sagas.
36  Economy / Services / Re: Bitsgap.com 🚀 Get a reward for simple feedback! 🚀 on: December 09, 2018, 09:32:39 PM
Are there still rewards available?
37  Other / Meta / Re: Most merited topics (SUM of OP + posts) (UPDATED!) on: November 25, 2018, 02:28:44 PM
From the lists its obvious to see a lot of merit being rewarded about merit
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Airdrop good for Project, Airdrop Participant or Both? on: November 20, 2018, 10:14:50 PM
It is always good for a project for there to be airdrop since there is a lot more potential for more people to be interested in the coin using airdrops and the participants can be made to actually promote the coin to get their coins. Although now a lot of the airdrops are not trustworthy since they never pay out or they are trying to scam people out of their hard earned money

This is the trouble with some airdrops, sorting which is legitimate and which is a scam.
Airdrops can be beneficial for all involved if they pay out and are regular, rewards keep people interested and involved.
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN Launch Know Your Developer (KYD) - New days of secure investing are here! on: November 20, 2018, 08:01:00 AM
The concept and goals of this project are important to let the investors know bout the developers they are invested in. It isn't project but teams in which we invest and believe that they will deliver. The initiative at the same time can reduce the scams by providing lot of information and rating about developers to know and decide based on facts. It impressed me from whatever I studied little bit so far.
Yeap, your opinion is correct.
KYD is a good one, and a good supplementary project for crypto investors.
This one help them at somewhat extents to have better overview on transparency of project they are interested in.
However, KYD verification has definitely not a guarantee that a project is not a scam one. This point is important.

Yes there will always be scams out there in crypto just like there is in everyday life. There really is no avoiding it but KYD are doing their best at making buying into projects a lot safer as the dev teams that do verify would think twice before scamming as their ID's are shown to the world. The KYD team are working on making this verification a lot more better in the future.

This will hopefully become a standard. How much is it to get a development team verified?

I know there have been some changes recently as there was another option to verify where it was not shown to the public which has since been scarped. The price could of changed for public verification but last I knew was 1k KYD coins to get verified which is a regular public listing.

Review & Listing will take approximately 1.5 week.
Verification Fees
The verification fees depend on the status of your coin. More established coins require less verification than newer coins. Therefore, there is a difference between coins.
Paid Listings
- 5,000 KYD - ICO/Presale
- 2,000 KYD - Launched 1 month Under Public (exchange required)
- 1,000 KYD - Regular Public Listing

Free Listings
- Free - Special Public Listing Top 500 Coin on CoinMarketCap (or high profile coin)
Fast-Track listings
- 2,500 KYD - Fast Track: Not Guaranteed to be only coin listed that day
- 3,500 KYD - Fast Track: Dedicated Day, Twitter Post

I think the developers should be publicly known as soon as they raise a lot of money or otherwise the risk is just too high that they run off.

THe dev teams will be public no matter what as the private listing will be phased out in December and I'm sure its already phased out but the site hasn't been updated. So the only way now is public verification so we at least know who the dev team is, I would however like to see more added to the public verification like links to the dev teams Facebook, Linkin etc... This is something the KYD team can work on to make the platform more transparent.
Also it acts as a sort of qualification for an ico's team which they will have to fulfill otherwise they risk not getting funded.
It is essential that KYD gets the recognition it should.
40  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It Takes 9343$ to mine one bitcoin, so no way i am selling it below 12000$ on: November 19, 2018, 02:05:40 PM
There are huge mining farms in the USA that have half that electricity cost.  I personally have a cost of slightly less than 0.10/kwh.  Bitmain certainly doesn't have a cost that high.  You're averaging USA electrical costs and coming up with a number that btc should be valued at?  We are not the only country in the world that is mining crypto.

All of that aside ... I would never sell my btc at 12k.  The majority of the btc that I hold will not be sold under 50k.  It can either reach those levels or I'll watch it go to zero while I continue to hold.  I don't care if it takes 3-5-7-10 years to get to the point at which I would sell, I will wait or I will watch it go to zero.

I would be of the same mind.
Its about the long term, and thats 5 years plus.

Its too easy for the op to state mining is costing x amount. There are many many varying costs, miners have different operational costs so their base cost is different to others.
