I've been unable to get any cgminer version after 3.3.1 to start on Win7 x64, using the pre-built binaries. I get the message "Error opening terminal: dumb"

3.3.1 works fine with identical configuration, but I'd rather not be stuck on an old version.
Unrelated to cgminer. Google for it, seems to be related to some windows environment variable with various solutions offered.

Thanks. Out of curiosity, any idea why it only effects more recent versions?

Just wait until BTC-E reverses transactions and/or refuses USD withdrawals.

So, how low do you all think BTC will go with tomorrow's inevitable post-hack panic sales? I'm calling $4.50.

Pretty sure you're screwed no matter how you look at it. BTC-E admin will probably pull a gox and cancel any profitable trades.

3. Change passwords for other websites immediately.
...unless you've got a lastpass account (or similar) with long, random, unique passwords for everything. It's not that hard.
27  Bitcoin / Hardware / Lead time on current products? on: June 24, 2012, 05:35:38 AM
I just ordered a BFL Single (the FPGA one, not ASIC). What kind of time am I looking at before getting it?

Server2 seems to be down to me. Normal server seems fine (failover FTW).

Any plans to support merged BTC/NMC mining?
30  Economy / Marketplace / Re: ExchB: Paxum now available for deposit and withdrawal on: September 03, 2011, 09:45:42 PM
I'm guessing most people don't care.

I'm curious how many people here actually prefer PPLNS over SMPPS. Personally, I jumped on to ars because of SMPPS.
32  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Moneybookers to BTC and back? on: August 22, 2011, 02:57:10 AM
The fees are kind of high, but virwox is great if you have paypal or moneybookers and want BTC (or vice versa).  Deposit fiat currency, buy SLL, then use them to buy BTC. I'm pretty sure you can fake a Second Life name during signup.
33  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BitcoinNotify - Bitcoin solutions for Merchants and the community on: August 17, 2011, 03:09:12 AM
Feature suggestion: make the service respond to queries over XMPP or e-mail. E.g. allow users to query stats like block count, expected difference adjustment, time until adjustment, etc.. Basically similar to the various ";;bc" commands on the gribble IRC bot, but for those of us who don't get on IRC often.
34  Economy / Trading Discussion / Any merchants or exchangers using flexcoin? on: August 16, 2011, 08:39:53 PM
I recently set up a flexcoin account to hold most of my BTC (which is not a lot). Sadly, I haven't seen any merchants or exchangers accepting flexcoin transfer. I can see why people are skeptical of eWallets, but it would be nice to be able to spend/deposit straight from my flexcoin account, avoiding the withdrawal fee.

This stuff is getting ridiculous. In this thread we all congratulate ourselves and laugh from our high horses.

Let the circlejerk begin!

It seems to be using both pools I put in, roughly equally. I was expecting it to be failover (or is btcmine just failing a lot?)
37  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Multipool - the pool mining pool (with source code) on: July 04, 2011, 02:56:13 AM
I'm getting almost 1/3 of my shares rejected. That probably means a net loss for me, even with the hopping.
On Multiclone or with your own local pool?

On Multiclone.

I haven't been able to connect to multiclone since this morning...

Anyone who lost speed with the new kernel should try the latest version. It is now much faster for me.
