21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 5 crypto currencies to invest in 2018 on: November 27, 2017, 03:13:34 PM
I have been continuously betting on the MONAcoin, and so far it is going beyond my expectations, or to be more accurate, faster than expected.
Japanese tech cannot be disappointing.
And as Japan has a strong place and role to play in Asia market, there is a high chance than China will follow...

Actually I am not well informed about "Monacoin". Anybody please inform me. Thanks.

This is the only Japanese altcoin. Japan is the only country giving digital currencies a legal status as JPY

It's so funny when people talk about some coin being country specific.  One of the tenets of cryptocurrencies is that they are borderless.   I'll bet that 99% of businesses in Japan that accept Mona also accept, at the minimum, Bitcoin.  And outside of Japan probably no one accepts Mona.

The more country specific a coin is the less chance it has of going up in value.

I would disagree with you.
What 99% of coins lack is a strong community & ecosystem.
MONA has this and the network effect can then spread MONA over the world.
See it like JCB credit cards vs VISA.

And there are 129M japanese... so it has a weight Smiley And has we all know, Japan has always been a leader in technology and development so it is not crazier than the launch of the Walkman... I think it is a good advantage that the currency is widely used in Japan and promoted locally, it shows that it is a really money and not only speculation

mona is growing fast with bitcoin in japan, they are the only best in that country

I also think  with the Olympics in Japan coming in 2020 it will be a great accelerator for Monacoin in Japan but also around Asia.
Besides Mona is made to purchase things and not to speculate which is according to me the way a cryptocurrency should be

Does anybody has an info about the launch date of bitflyer in US? as this will impact the value of the MONA, an dsince now it is low, I am thinking to buy some more.
Of course BTC is geting a bt crazybut many people ar e just buying it now to make a quick return, with MONA I am betting on the long term, and not speculating on the eventual value of bitcoin gold....

J ai vu que le monacoin a ete liste sur des plateforme a Hong Kong et en Coree,
https://www.exx.com/blog/display?type=102&id=64
https://www.upbit.com/exchange?code=CRIX.UPBIT.BTC-MONA

the mona listing in Korea and HK look really promising, with bitflyer listing we can now seriously think about a possibility in USA to buy it in the near future with USD so the value, and the usage should increase?
any thoughts?

Hello everyone!

Monacoin will "take over" Akihabara in JAPAN
from Oct. 25 to Oct. 31 (JST).
https://monapo.com/lp/akiba2017/

Infomation spread all over the world.
Enjoy it!
can you translate ? what does it mean ? Akihabara is a town in tokyo, whats the link with monacoin ??

I did a brief tl of this on telegram a day or so ago; basically it's an advertising campaign.

The first two images are:

"And on that day, something in Japan changed greatly... (maybe)"
"Putting that aside, come play in Akiba!"

The details:

"From 2017-10-25 to 2017-10-31, a Monacoin promotional video will be playing on the large displays throughout Akihabara UDX and Akihabara's Radio Kaikan!"
"Apart from that, Ark Akiba (https://twitter.com/ark_akiba) will be handing out stickers and have other fun stuff to do! Check Ask Mona (http://askmona.org/5563) for details."

"Akihabara UDX (http://udx.jp/) - 4 times per hour, 56 times in one day, starting from 8am in the morning until 10pm at night."
"Akihabara Radio Kaikan (http://www.akihabara-radiokaikan.co.jp/) - 2 times per hour, 26 times in one day, starting from 9am in the morning until 11pm at night."
"During the duration of this event, if you shop at the electronics shop Ark Akiba (https://twitter.com/ark_akiba) you can receive an original sticker!"

The rest of the page is just information about Monacoin and stuff, like how it was born in Japan.

This is a pretty big advertising campaign - Akiba is in the center of Tokyo and Akiba UDX/Radio Kaikan are two large shopping areas right in front of Akihabara Station. It's one of the most visited places by tourists as well.

thank you fo rthe info, great news

Hi, I checked a bit further about what's going on in Asia for the crypto, and getting more info on the MONA, but since I dont have much to invest and I am betting on the long term, MONA seems to be a good choice.

Any idea if the Japanese exchange Bitflyer will list Mona soon

Hi, I am bullish on MONA and VTC. 2 deeply undervalued coins with great potential. And i missed yesterday a great raise on VTC, but i have a limited wallet...
