21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GP] GoldPieces - An expandable digital currency for online gaming on: January 19, 2015, 06:29:43 PM
Can you please PLEASE fix the bug that turns off staking everytime you send coins or create new addresses ?
Ive lost several days of staking now.

Try using the coin control feature to send coins that aren't likely to stake soon.

I thought it was normal for staking to get turned off when you send PoS coins. The only way to get round it is to use coin control and not many coins have it. Either that or spit your coins into multiple wallets/addresses.

Why would i disable staking just because i sent some coins?
Of course i want to stake the remaining coins.
And of course i want to keep staking the coins i already have when i have made a new address.

And when you say ' The only way to get round it', do you mean the code is just too complex, so that the user must re-enable staking manually?

I dont get the concept, apparently, lol.

Edit: And it even disables staking if you cancel the password request for sending coins also.
Edit2: When i say 'disable staking' i mean that the coins get actually locked from staking. not that staking is disabled because of unmature coins, or because staking is 'actually' disabled by staking=0 in the .conf. I mean the green staking icon.

23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: One sad day for all of us !! on: January 17, 2015, 10:02:11 PM
SuchPool is one of the great ones, along with TradeMyBit to go down.

If the tide turns, they might reopen. (at least the pool ops have been indicating that!)

Well done. Just turned off my miners:) Staking at 500% wow, many money so fast! I'll probably just sell some minted stake and keep this stash for a while

What pool is the hash at ?
Theres almost 40gh and the biggest pool on the list is supr with almost 3gh, the other ones has maybe 100mh each..

I wondered about that to, someone mentioned multipools mine whatever coin is profitable and dump on the exchange? Either that or there is just a bunch of people solo mining maybe.

Mystery solved:

X11    3336   32.6784 GH/s

Someone is Nicehashing this at a private pool.

Damn. Dump incoming.

Edit: I im so sick of Nicehash. Mining has become 'first to deposit at nicehash wins the coin'

Edit2: Nicehash causes centralized mining and has destroyed at least 10 of the last coins i was interested in. it should be banned.

Yea, would look for a big dump of coin, often they will sell it right down to 0.

Or they accumulate off the exchange for a pump. Since buying on an exchange would directly raise the price be4 the accumulation is over.
So you mean like they put offers in the marketplace forum on here to buy GP off the exchanges as to not increase the price directly on the exchanges and then once they have enough then they begin to pump the coin so they can make their profits of the coins that they bought off the exchanges?

I mean, they wait for a low diff, start mining with rented or owned hash (why else would someone rent tens of gh/s now with a lower price and profitability) and after pow is over they pump it.

I'm not saying that this is the case, but this could obviously happen.

10k coins got dumped at trex Wink took it from 5500 sat to 3200 sat or so

Yes i have seen multiple times on threads for people asking to use the Fresh algo, i will keep it in mind it could be a possibility Smiley

Fresh sounds good!

Seriously?  You are advertising an alt-coin that is used to buy items to conceal drugs?  I mean really?  Pictures with pills?

I don't think we need this here.  Go create an Onion site.

(Edit -- Oh my bad you already plan too -- This is not acceptable).

Those pills can be anything, prescription also.
And, some drugs aren't illegal everywhere.

Even unused paraphernalia is usually legal in countries where its banned.
This is fine so far IMHO.

Also, times are a-changing regarding drug policies.

I prefer x13 algo

Why not X11? Or Fresh or NIST5.

please, not anything X, its going to get destroyed fpga's and nicehash
do nist5 or keccak or something weird .
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Miner Control 1.6.0 - Auto profit switching miner controller on: December 24, 2014, 07:34:50 AM
A bug:

My account at hamsterpool shows:
Bitcoin: 0.00008654

My account at hamsterpool in MinerControl shows 548 satoshi.

34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Miner Control 1.6.0 - Auto profit switching miner controller on: December 21, 2014, 03:49:57 PM
Really nice tool

Suggestions:

The 'manual' miner cant be renamed
The console does not support ansi colors

Edit: Also:
Reload config from within app
Manage several miners from within app (instead of multiple instances)
(Remote control cgminer-based..probably not happening..)

Edit 2: Also add MiningRigRentals.com ! They have a API . But you cant interrupt rentals, so it wont work. Carry on.
Would be nice to get simplemulti.com to add one as well Smiley

There's some activity on freenode just head over there. Better chance of meeting dev there than here i think, its not like he is hiding as someone thinks. Also if anyone has skills (graphics, design, PR) i think dev is more than thankful for getting some community talent behind this. Possibly also a block explorer will be added to wallet and some other minor stuff soonish.

Stop the FUD in this thread plz.
He is not going to respond to that crap, because he is busy working on the coin.
So just stop the dumpage as well, this is going to be just fine...

total fail launch
tried 3 pools and solo, nothing works
There aren't 3 pools listed. Just 1.  V1 and V2 are different coins.  Make sure your in V2

ooooh

i thought this thread was about v2 only

i thought you meant v2 under the pools meant a 'v2' pool, a pool that takes single reg for multiple coins
