I surely agree to that. They need to have serious use cases and something that can offer mass adoption.
22  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anonymity VS tracing transactions. on: August 27, 2019, 11:34:37 PM
I mean if my funds got stolen especially a large amount I would enjoy to have them return. I believe users can still remain anonymous if there are companies in place like Ciphertrace that offer blockchain forensics. The difference is that companies that offer privacy protecting technology are helping the ecosystem from money laundering. I think they could help with large amounts of loses rather than just small bits here and there.

Idk I go back and forth though because anonymity is ultimately the goal cypto put out. I just don't know if we will be able to remain completely anonymous with governments around the globe stepping in.

To my understanding they are lost forever until you have access to your private key
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: We need regulation pretty bad on: August 26, 2019, 09:20:40 PM
I agree. I will say that we have pretty important companies like Ciphertrace that are building extremely helpful technology for AML compliance and tracking.

It all comes down to creativity and confidence. Most people are too camera shy and don't want to act outlandishly

28  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: CipherTrace Crypto AML Report Details $4.3 Billion in Schemes on: August 14, 2019, 08:54:08 PM
It's the FATF who advised the $1,000 threshold and I think it's wise of Ciphertrace to try and be the bridge between regulators and people's privacy. In their report they mention finding a 'workable solution' that requires an innovation such as cryptographically controlled methods to securing information which is what Ciphertrace is trying to provide.
29  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / 76% of dark market using Bitcoin on: August 14, 2019, 08:32:51 PM
CipherTrace just published their Q2 Cryptocurrency AML Report and found it interesting that Bitcoin still reigns king in dark markets and cybercrime. Most people associate privacy coins even just 4% involve Monero.

Even in the case of malware and ransomware, ETH used in only 1% of instances and BTC used in 98% of cases.

30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Staking Crypto: NULS vs ATOMS on: August 12, 2019, 10:48:46 PM

31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is sharding in regards to cryptocurrency blockchain? Review |Ethereum + APL on: August 09, 2019, 05:07:02 PM
Sharding happens to be a hot topic right now for scalability but I find it interesting that Solana is coming in with a different approach. Anti-sharding and will have higher TPS than say ETH when it implements sharding
32  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Dark use of Bitcoin on: August 09, 2019, 04:47:16 PM
Not wise whatsoever esp now there are advanced technology solutions like Ciphertrace who specialize in BTC forensics

34  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: The Hottest Commodity: Virgin Bitcoin on: August 08, 2019, 04:29:16 PM

37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scarcity of Blockchain Developers on: August 01, 2019, 05:19:52 PM
I've seen available university courses as well but it might be worth looking into Nuls for those developers or businesses that are interested in implementing blockchain solutions for say supply chain or NFTs.
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The End of Bear Market, Confirmed!! on: July 30, 2019, 09:06:45 PM

39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Elixxir offer privacy at scale? on: July 30, 2019, 08:44:34 PM

40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: can libra upset world economy if not regulated ? on: July 29, 2019, 07:14:21 PM
Libra is a centralized project.

As stated best: If Libra complies with all regulations across the world it will just end up being a blockchain based "paypal" and nothing more.

Agree with you to both points. I think there is good reason for people to be worried about different economies around the world but not to have Libra override this. Too many governments are going to push for regulations
