I've installed version 3.0.5 to a new folder on my off-line pc. Created a standard wallet_1 (same name as the one on former installation) and restored it from seed. Then, I've overwritten C:\Users\E8-950\Desktop\electrum_data\wallets\wallet_1 to the same path of the new 3.0.5
I'm not sure why you created a new wallet, restored your wallet from seed... and then overwrote that file with your old one?  To be honest, I am not really familiar with software installations, but insist on doing it myself! I was told by someone else in the forum to reinstall to another folder and to paste my old wallet file to this new installation. No other instructions. And that I could only install another Portable version. While doing it I realized I was missing some essential understanding of the whole process. I've probably misunderstood the instructions! As regards the on-line pc, I've upgraded to version 3.0.5 as well and created the watch-only installation restoring from PMK. Last, I've overwritten wallet_1 to proper path.
And you've done the same thing here? Created a new wallet... then copied over the old one? Yes, I did not know if this was correct and I assumed it was. When I open my new Electrum 3.0.5 installation I can see my history transaction although they are marked 'Not Verified'
On which computer is the wallet showing "not verified"? Is that on your "offline PC"? because that status usually just means that your wallet hasn't "synced up", so it does not know if the transactions have been confirmed or not. Electrum stores your transactions in the wallet file, so if you copied the old wallet file, it would have those transactions, but wouldn't be able to confirm if they were OK or not.
On the watch-only (on-line) one. On the off-line one there is nothing, it is all blank (this is true also referring to the first installation, i.e. on wallet 3.0.2) If it is on the "online" PC, then it would seem that your wallet is connected properly? Is the dot in the bottom right corner red, green or is it blue arrows?
It's red. The last question (not necessarily correlated to the above but of some interest to me): Having to do the Electrum upgrade would it be possible to install the Installer version instead of the Portable one and have my btc transferred from one version to the other ? If yes , how can I manage this?
Well, I am going to get rid of that second portable version 3.0.5. I have understood that I have to save/copy my old wallet file (my wallet_1); that I can install the new Installer 3.0.5. and paste my old wallet_1 the proper directory. I do not know what need to be done different on the off-line and on-line pcs. Moreover, as concerns my old wallet I never tried to sign, on the off-line pc, the verified transactions present on the watch-only pc. Does this have something to do with the "synced up you were mentioning above? Sorry about the mess. I would really need a step by step procedure. Many thanks |

Still having some doubts and issues about Electrum and need some help.
Firstly, I am in the process of updating my 3.0.2 (portable) version (where I have some btc) to the 3.0.5 on Window 10. However, not really sure about what I have just done.

My questions are:
As concerns upgrading Have I done the right thing?
Why the new installation is showing 'Not verified' transactions ? What do I have to do next ?
The last question (not necessarily correlated to the above but of some interest to me): Having to do the Electrum upgrade would it be possible to install the Installer version instead of the Portable one and have my btc transferred from one version to the other ? If yes , how can I manage this?
I hope I am not posting too many questions. I have made my efforts to find answers through searching and reading but still not at ease with the matter.

Puoi installare solo la nuova versione portable in una cartella separata e successivamente copiare il file "wallet.dat" dalla versione precedente nella nuova cartella 3.0.5
In questo modo non devi fare transazioni per spostare bitcoin su nuovi indirizzi.
Esatto, in alternativa puoi ricreare il wallet partendo dal seed Così non devi così non devi copiare nulla e verifichi che tutto funziona, che non é mai uva cosa sbagliata Consiglio di criptare con password il wallet e di tenere in posto sicuro offline il seed ciao Pensavo fosse chiaro, in realtà ho dei dubbi. Potreste dirmi se ho fatto giusto? Ho installato sul pc off-line versione 3.0.5 portable in una cartella diversa dalla precedente installazione. Lanciato eseguibile. Creato wallet con stesso nome dell'installazione preced. (wallet_1) usando lo stesso seed. Sovrascritto il mio file wallet_1 (ho capito che è questo il walle.dat di cui parlate) nella nuova installazione. Sul pc on-line fatto la stessa cosa, cioè installato vers.3.0.5 in un'altra cartella, e creato il wallet watch-only inserendo la Master pubblic key della vecchia installazione. Sovrascritto il mio wallet_1 (*.dat) nella nuova installazione. Ora se lancio la nuova installazione 3.0.5 le stringhe di transazione dello storico risultano 'Not Verified'. Ho fatto qualcosa di sbagliato? Cos'altro devo fare? (Non so se dico una cavolata, forse sono io che non so cercare ma mi pare di non aver trovato guide per fare upgrade) Grazie per ogni aiuto |

A titolo informativo mi chiedevo: ...a suo tempo avevo installato la portable sul pc off-line senza molta cognizione di causa, su consiglio di 1 amico (che non sa di wallet etc). Ma che differenza fa se il path di installazione è diverso tra portable/installer o se scrive sul registro, ai fini della sicurezza del wallet o se ci sono altri motivi per preferire la installer. Giusto per saperne di più, per essere più consapevole nel caso di future altre installazioni. Di nuovo grazie l'aiuto. |

Most probably because Coinbase does/did not support SegWitt addresses. By this time you may have solved your problem already. Anyway, if not, you should create another wallet and select 'standard' instead of 'segwitt'.

Devo fare l'upgrade di Electrum alla versione 3.0.5. e mi servirebbe 1 consiglio. Ho attualmente una versione portable. Mi converrebbe visto che devo comunque aggiornare, scaricare la versione Installer e crearmi un nuovo wallet sullo stesso pc e trasferire i btc sul nuovo? O è na smazzata inutile, e mi aggiorno la portable, punto. In generale, posso avere 2 installazioni, portable e installer, sullo stesso pc?

ma in effetti non open source non vuol dire fregati sicuro, solo che tira oggi e tira domani potrebbero fare un wallet tipo jazz o exodus(non open source), con un piccolo e irriconoscibile bug che magari ti frega in qualche modo in un giorno lontano, con gli open source è più difficile perchè ci sarà sempre qualcuno che puo dire che dentro al codice cè un errore, magari messo apposta da qualcuno. Insomma per i pignoli è una cosa rilevante. quindi con jazz puoi esportare le chiavi private? avevo sentito che con exodus nn puoi esportartele...è vero? PS: azz...40 dollari su su 1500 sono quasi il 3%...sono tantini mi sembra!! anche altri wallet hanno queste tasse di transazione??? e io che mi lamentavo dei 3,8% di coinbase per cambiare euro in btc! anche le transazioni sono na bomba con BTC!  Si con Exodus puoi esportare le chiavi private accedendo al Developper Menu con Ctrl+Shift+D. |

Mi sento sempre un po' a disagio nel fare domande che denotano la mia non conoscenza del settore, ma siccome la materia mi attrae molto cerco di vincere queste 'resistenze' e .....vi chiedo: perchè sulle piattaforme di trading si 'ragiona' e si opera in $ e non in € ? Qual'è, se c'è, il vantaggio?

in tutti gli scambi internazionali si usa il $ come riferimento, in piú alcuni exchange sono di base in USA e le piattaforme europee hanno comunque piú volume in btc/$ pur permettendo anche lo scambio BTC/€ [/quote] Ok. Ma che differenza fa se c'è piu o meno volume in un pair piuttosto che nell'altro? Quindi sostanzialmente non fa differenza 'tradare' in € piuttosto che in $.....però nei post che leggo il riferimento è, direi, sempre $ ....mi sfugge qlc. |

No, you don't need to transfer the confirmed transaction to your offline PC (if you're using an "airgapped" offline PC setup). All the offline PC is used for is "signing" transactions. When you create a transaction on the Online PC and transfer it to the Offline PC, it'll include ALL the information the offline PC needs  ps. one piece of advice... unless you are super comfortable using "mBTC" aka milliBitcoin units... I would suggest going to "Tools -> Preference -> Appearance" and changing the units to "BTC" and set the decimal places to 8 NOTE: you may need to close the preferences window and re-open it to be able to change the decimals to 8 Thank you very much for your help |

Why I am getting 4 outputs as follows? What are the last 3 strings for?
This means that the sender has sent several diffretent amounts to different addresses in one transaction. Here is an example: Let's imagine that you are taking your coins from an exchange. You request a withdraw of 0.5 BTC and the exchange mark your request as "Pending". Some exchanges will send payments in bulk to minimize fees, so they wait until many users request a withdraw and send them all at once. So, the transaction ends up having several outputs: a. A output of 0.5 BTC to your address. b. A output of 0.15 BTC to a random user. c. A output of 1 BTC to another random user. Another question, why Status is showing 936 confirmations? When I first made the txn it was displaying 168.
This is the amount of confirmations that the transaction has. It's normal to increase with time. Many thank for your detailed explanation. Can I take the same opportunity to ask you some more advices? I've been searching, reading, listening 'everywhere' and cannot figure out what happens once my Btcs are confirmed on my online pc. Do I have to transfer and store the transaction on the pc offline? I really spent a lot of time looking for tutorials videos forum topics , however could not sort it out. (I am wondering whether I'd better get interested in something else  ) Thks |

Y-a-t-il des tutoriels ou informations à jour sur le fonctionnement du wallet Electrum (vers.3.0.2) ? Ce que j'ai trouvé dans d'autres forums n'est pas assez complet ou à jour. J'ai installé la vérsion 'portable' , est-ce que ça va changer quelque chose par rapport aux autres types d'installation?

La guida è parecchio obsoleta. Ci sono concetti buoni, ma moltissime cose con gli aggiornamenti sono cambiati. Rimarrà come storico ma non la considero più valida.

Non so rispondere alla tua domanda ma ti do un consiglio per superare il problema in modo diverso: apri un conto con TRT. Con lei bonifichi verso una banca italiana e quindi problemi non ne hai per definizione.
