Hope still lives to get coins back? Well, at the time shouldn't you be more worry what happens to this bit business in general than for sake lost coins? If things go bad, coins you might have gain would be worth double to nothing. Get a hold of yourself, don't let these small time scams depress you. Some have scams size of a mount cox in their hands..
22  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Crypto Doubler - coin2x - coin2x.com on: February 22, 2014, 07:31:43 PM
Well, with things like this, main thing is not to get greedy. Guess you have noticed, that total deposits have doubled in no time and amount people gamble with are ridiculous. If this would be "real money", would you sent thousands of dollars to someone you don't know if he only said "I'll double it" without questioning how? Yeah.. many of you would obviously. Grin

Have there being any push towards Cryptsy?

Not yet Nightlander. We won't want to get on Cryptsy for another month or two, due to our current lack of merchants. If we get listed on Cryptsy without any consumer value, will our price go up? Absolutely! Will it have stability? Unfortunately not.

We need to provide an incentive for long-term stability so that upon reaching the masses, users will feel more compelled to hold iCoin for long-term value as opposed to execute pump n' dumps and treat it like crap, which is commonplace among many other currencies.

So, in short, yes Cryptsy (and BTER and Coins-E) are on our growth map, just not currently.

All right. In that case I'll hold my iCoins and maybe mine some more. Good to see there are active plans in store for the coin!

This is definatively one of the hottest newcomers by the appearance, but as people have stated here it'll stand or fall with the push developers give it to and activity of community behind it. It won't be just the exchanges it'll get added to. There's just too many of these altcoins now, so it'll need to stand out of the mass offering something others don't.

We need that big push by the developers and community.. digicoin to the moon.. and beyond!  Grin
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VTC] Vertcoin - Adaptive N-factor in Scrypt - No more ASICs on: February 05, 2014, 12:22:19 PM
What is wrong with Cryptsy I don't get my 32,2 VRT I deposited in my Cryptsy account, it's not even in pending deposits, it's over 8 hours now and support only asked for additional information and I gave that and from there on nothing. I'm not a Cryptsy new user, I made a lot of succesfull transactions in the past. Anyone know anything about deposit problems?

Same situation.. blockchain says not yet redeemed at input.

28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Profit-switching scrypt+ASIC Pool] multipool.us on: January 25, 2014, 01:23:50 AM
did the stratum just go down?

At least seems so on us servers.. what about eu side?
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Profit-switching scrypt+ASIC Pool] multipool.us on: January 20, 2014, 03:28:37 PM
Indeed some major problems, connection have dropped out pretty much constantly like hotpants while having a diarrhea. This is for us servers (while mining dogecoin), haven't tried eu servers. Pool doge graph also suggest dropouts (around same time problems started), thou not in that large scale.

Seems strange coincidence while doge value have doubled. Or is it just because this:

"Jan 20 8:31 AM Our EU provider has notified us that there may be some connectivity issues in their data center over the next few hours as they upgrade peering.  If you are using the EU servers and want to be sure you maintain connectivity, you may want to use the East US servers for the next few hours."

Meaning us servers are getting overloaded?

30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Profit-switching scrypt+ASIC Pool] multipool.us on: December 30, 2013, 01:33:37 PM
can't connect to stratum+tcp://pool1.us.multipool.us:3352.
stratum+tcp://pool1.eu.multipool.us:3352 works, but gives a lot of rejected shares :/

Kinda opposite here.. and kinda same then again..  Grin

Us pool works giving only few rejects, but eu pool.. can give up 50% rejects pretty much randomly. One round more, other less. Changing to us pool fixes the problem, zero to some percentage of rejects.

Started mining today and have been fiddling with gpu settings.. being kinda difficult, as things seemed more or less random.  Huh

EDIT: Being mining on scrypt stratum multiports.

EDIT2: Eu pool also cutted connection quite regularly, so far us has being stable.

With these speculations it would be good to see where they are based on.

Even thou it's virtual currency value doesn't just come out of nowhere. What would be the reason for people to use Bitcoin rather than any other available currencies? If there's no other than ideological reasons, it won't ever be any major currency. If you didn't notice, hippies didn't inherit the world (phew). Also it would have to be accepted by governments to make it legal taxable currency while loosing it's anonymity. And why would any government accept any capital that could replace it's native currency?

As you can see, I'm rather pessimistic about the growth as there's many obstacles to conquer. Thing is, so far it's being looked past fingers except for couple incidents. If there's too much growth, it cannot be this hobbyist monopoly money any more.

Basically, the reasons to differentiate Bitcoin to available currencies is the key to success. But for that.. it cannot be based on anonymity.. It have to be available as paper money.. get easily at ATMs.. be stable enough to pay things due tomorrow for value not to drop 50% overnight.. not owned by 1% of the population before it's even adapted/accepted more widely..

What I'm trying to say with all this, money is money. What was very ideological at the beginning, if it's need (or already has) to turn something we already have do we really need to have it?

Anyways, interested to see what happens as well as the rest of you. Hope good fortune for Hippiecoin.  Grin

And yeah, electric company just reminded me Bitcoin doesn't come cheap. Cry

Same deal here, for now packing my mining gear to use of other pool with less problems and better informing in case there are some. Good luck, hope there's some ideas why miners are having these problems.

Wonder is it about increase in difficulty or what, but for couple weeks it takes 2 days more to get same amount of coins than month back. Like before I got 0,1 coins in 5 days, now it takes whole week to get that much. Can it be that drastic change in difficulty? Haven't been that long in bitcoin business to know. Amount I keep rig on for mining haven't changed.

Yes difficulty changed about 12 days ago.  It went up about 13%, so it takes longer to make the same amount.  It is about to go up another 10% roughly in a few hours, so you'll make even less in a few hours.

GPUs were making about 20x as much last January. The age of GPUs is ending, ASICs are here now.

Use this calc - add a 0 to the difficulty and watch your earnings drop to 1/10th as much - that should happen in the next 3 months.
http://tpbitcalc.appspot.com/

Thanks, that sorted some things. Seems I stepped in to this bitwagon at the edge of ASIC rocket ride. Was also looking at the 50BTC hashrate/earnings chart, and it tells pretty much the same story. Earnings were peaking above hashrate when I started, no more. Our GPU guys only hope is seemingly pretty unstable exchange rate, that it would find the way to go up for some reason (which reason can be harder to predict than where North-Korea points nukes each morning and for what reason). Otherwise seems it's only within months that electricity is more expensive than what you get out of mining. Unless.. you become pro miner with heavy investments.
Well, going to stick in out of curiosity if nothing else.
Sure thing is we're living times something peaks out of bithorizon..

Yeah, pretty constant problems for couple days with pool. IO errors and that typical "No JSON object could be decoded" thingy with GuiMiner. Before that no problems really for a month. Have deleted and reinstalled all related GuiMiner files but no avail. Happily worker has stopped only once, other than that it has worked thru those errors, just creating lots of more stale/invalid shares than normally. As these problems started to occur just couple days ago, it's hard to see what could be problem at this end. Especially, that system haven't being changed within that time.
It's windows 7 64bit system, with 7870XT as miner. Using latest official catalyst drivers.

Patience, young padawans! Couple posts and some hours of browsing in forum and you have served your sentence. We all have to go thru that trial period before turning into full fledged jedi posters.

Can't connect my workers since one week. Some of them do connect, others no, dont know where is the problem.

No problem with pool-de.50btc.com here, it have being working grand. Seems to be most reliable server at europe, primary and even secondary server hasn't functioned that well. Zero downtime since changed to that.
38  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin needs to be simplified for the stupid. on: May 12, 2013, 03:54:00 PM
When it comes to simplicity of just using bitcoin without any background information of it, it's simple enough for the masses. People don't care technical aspects behind currency, like who actually knows how Mastercard/Visa works. Using it doesn't require you to know anything, besides maybe pin number and be able to read series of numbers and copy them to make online payments.

Same kinda card idea would be ideal also for bitcoin as it's electronic currency in the begin with. Like pay/deposit bitcoins via devices you can hook to computers.. or do the same at banking terminal.

And for the last but not least.. paper currency would be also probably required for those that cannot see money otherwise, which aren't very few neither.

And no, most wouldn't care less about ideology behind currency, is it tied to banking system/landmarks or not. Just to know it's safe, reliable, stable. And no, it really doesn't success being characterised as nerd currency, which might not come surprise for all technical talk behind it. If bitcoin is to be success, it would need companies large enough to offer devices/services worldwide.. the question is, for how many bitcoin spokesman losing ideology would be okay just as long currency would be success?
39  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best GPU for mining with lowest electricity on: May 12, 2013, 01:58:27 PM
One question would be, is it be able to get even on GPU mining or even make profit what comes to hardware investment and electricity. Like are you guys able to make profit with your hardware currently?

Half hour and counting.. for the first out of jail post.. or lifetime ban.  Grin

What the heck are you talking about?  Huh
