21  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: LPC - LIGHTPAY COIN SCAM on: September 19, 2018, 02:07:14 AM
Scam coin crashing is what i see. I'm just waiting for the day that i see on the news that police working alongside russian authorities have made multiple arrests in Florida and Russia with individuals charged with everything from money laundering, fraud, tax evasion and countless other crimes. The logs on crypto-bridge don't lie either does the blockchain, this is all traceable. Won't be far away i imagine...

23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is HODLing "Safe" To Do While The Market Continues To Get Battered? on: September 18, 2018, 09:52:37 PM
No it isn't. Moving some of your coins into USDT or a similar currency so you have a good spread is the safest thing to do during downturns like this and monitor the markets and general feeling from crypto forums for signs of improvement before moving back in is what i do during dips. You get a feel for it after a while and i can generally time it almost perfectly nowadays. But without knowing what you are invested in it is hard to give an opinion on it.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: For all bounty hunters. Free audit Twitter on: September 18, 2018, 09:44:32 PM
i don't know why people rely on that service so heavily anyway because it simply doesn't work properly. I can see some obvious bot accounts following me yet when i do the twitter audit on myself it says i have 100% real followers. How can this be when i can see some arab guys following me with hundreds of thousands of followers spamming clothing ads? Is there any better audit places than this?
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Common Cryptocurrency Scams on: September 18, 2018, 09:41:27 PM
There are also a hell of a lot of scam Masternode coin projects as of late. The same person or team of people seem to be just rolling out fake project after project than exit scamming with tens of thousands each time. A common theme is a pre-sale with plans for a useful platform with listing coming and a huge push on bounty programs than bam, exit scam! people need to be much more vigilant before throwing there cash at any projects because naive people are only funding and encouraging these scam artists by providing them a reward for this despicable behavior.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NEP-5 different from ERC-20? on: September 18, 2018, 09:11:49 PM
to put it simply Nep-5 is better technology. Erc-20 is old and has too many future problems now that there are so many people using it. nep-5 is designed for mass usability and higher speed in transfers.
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: will humanity stop using cash on: September 18, 2018, 09:04:15 PM
i think so. Where i live (new zealand) cash is extremely rare nowadays already. If i go to pay in cash in a shop they are literally surprised now with all payments being on debit/eftpos/credit/paywave based systems. 10 years ago people would not have believed cash would be almost gone so i don't see any reason why in the future there won't be a move into blockchain based payments entirely.
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top 400 altcoins: how many have a real use case and real tech? on: September 18, 2018, 09:00:53 PM
i would say that much less than 10% have a real use case. Maybe 0.05%.would be a closer number. Even the a lot of the big name coins have failed to deliver on what they set out to achieve in there roadmaps. Early last year i invested heavily in coins that were planning to take over the payment card sector with many claiming deals in the pipelines with visa/mastercard etc. I can say that a year and half later that none have done anything close to what i expected them to have done. Monaco, tenx, and Ctr (centra being the worst one of all with there whole team being arrested) have been major disappointments.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeepOnion, an absolute failure? on: September 18, 2018, 08:56:33 PM
I got out when the price was at around $14. After that i was ostracized by some of there community and called names by many of there die hard fanatical membership that didn't like me selling (dumping). But i knew it was a bubble and when i was making 50k usd off something that i got for writing posts and participating in a forum i knew that it was the right time to sell. Without the airdrop it doesn't have anything to entice people back, they have some cool members there and a couple of the mods are awesome dudes so i don't have anything against DO. I think they paid out way too much in the early stages of the airdrops to too few people and it would have been better to have given people less at the start and continued the airdrops for a longer period.
30  Economy / Speculation / Re: Trace Mayer: "Bitcoin prices may fall further in 9 months" on: September 18, 2018, 08:51:27 PM
How many of these people with there doomsday for bitcoin predictions will there be? If we listened to these people than btc would have died years ago. I think it will swing the other way entirely. because there are all the signs of a global recession showing and more people will want to move there money out of the traditional system once that happens.
31  Economy / Speculation / Re: OKEx Founder Star Xu Arrested by Shanghai Police. Bitcoin price will be collapse on: September 12, 2018, 08:11:53 AM
"OKEx Founder Star Xu Arrested by Shanghai Police"

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this click bait? Along with other articles. Isn't being brought in for questioning different from being arrested? Because based on some articles I've read, I'm pretty sure he was just brought in for questioning.

My thoughts exactly. If they had anything on him they would have just arrested him and charged him not questioned him and released him again. this won't affect the price of btc at all because for starters even if he was to be charged it doesn't mean OKEx will be closing down because it is an unrelated matter to the exchange.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Are all the bounties coming out right now garbage? on: September 12, 2018, 07:57:26 AM
Unfortunately, the huge number of coins and bounties that appear recently is garbage. And it's very difficult to distinguish shit from a real product, because everything is beautifully decorated.
So do a little analysis yourself. Go to the profile of the topic starter, read his messages, topics he created. Spend some time on it, but much will become more clear.

For example, today I saw new Topic created for a new project - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5026925
Not bad.
But after I decide to check topic starter's profile. And I was very surprised.
Those guy create 13 projects Cheesy
Of course, there can be no trust in such projects.
Such "dev" just steal the ideas of others already existing projects, modified it a little and presented as something new.

Wow, i just looked through the profile of the creator of the link you mentioned. That's disgusting that someone would make 13 projects and try and basically just rip everyone off one project after another! The guys account had 529 posts and he was still a jr.member, i can see why!
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Are all the bounties coming out right now garbage? on: September 12, 2018, 07:02:59 AM
the quality of the ICO's  seems to be on par with the quality of the people participating in them on bitcointalk. Everything has gone downhill, not just the ICO's but the users of this forum/spammers/scammers/hackers you name it. Look at this thread for example, 10% quality posts and 90% of rehashed been said before garbage. Too many new altcoin ICO's and not enough new money coming in. I used to buy into ICO's but that was a last year thing, i wouldn't touch any of them no matter how good they sound nowadays.
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin Thread Spammers ( Nothing ) on: September 12, 2018, 05:46:57 AM
Hello!

As we look into this section, most of the threads are well spammed by Newbies and Jr. MEMBERS. Just like the Bitcoin Discussion.

Now, as I leave this thread open for all member, I'm considering the possibility that this will get dumped by those old threads. And also, it will surely ignored by these people.

Only several people will make a glimpse on this thread. I don't intend to open such topics but this is just a discussion referring to the major aspects that affect these section as well as the Forum itself. I strongly believe that spammer and non-quality posters will not take part of these kind of discussion and in any cases that they will, they're just about to say non-sense such as misleading the other viewers of the forum.

Wink

It does make it hard to get a decent opinion on the state of the communities true perspective on anything with the amount of spam everywhere. I used to use bitcointalk to find new coins and gauge the general opinion and chances of it being adopted by people but now there are pages and pages of just fake responses with no real meaning behind them so bitcointalk is no longer useful in that aspect. But how could this be combated? By having an enlarged team of mods just mass deleting posts that they deem to be spam or something along those lines? I'm not sure that this beast can be contained like that and i think bitcointalk has outgrown it's original expectations and now we may just have to accept that this is how things are going to be from now on.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Gemini Dollar "Stable" Coin on: September 12, 2018, 05:35:12 AM
There are a few of these projects being launched and all have the same goal which is to basically replace tether. All of them say they are backed by real fiat etc but this is crypto and it's like the wild west so who knows if they are or not. I still continue to use tether and whether it is or is not really backed by fiat it is still serving it's purpose for me as of now.
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TIME TO SELL AND TIME TO HOLD on: September 12, 2018, 05:31:01 AM
if you are HOLDing then you can not call yourself a trader and using the word "long term" doesn't change a thing. it is an investment and as investments go you need to invest in something that has a good long term potential with low risks but a decent reward (profit).
in my opinion altcoins do not satisfy these conditions so they can not be considered investments and as a result HOLDing means nothing for them. and you shouldn't be doing it. which is why there are so many day traders in altcoins and many newbie bag holders.

With so many ALTS there must be some that you possibly think are worth holding though? I hold quite a few because i think they do have the potential to be game changers and increase substantially in the future. i think a lot of altcoins meet these conditions and i have done quite well out of my holding some and day trading others strategy so far. Some of them even earn me a passive income like KCS (kucoin exchanges own coin) so i would consider them as investments.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what is the cause of this dump.. on: September 12, 2018, 05:23:18 AM
Btc dumped hard after the fake news of goldman but after their representative told that news was fake instead of recovering its value btc still not recovering its value what is the cause of this bloothbath

The way the altcoins market has fluctuated over the last week looks highly suspicious to me. I feel like it is the work of some whales manipulating the market more than a natural rise and fall. All alts have moved from all in the green to all in the red than back again all at the same time  in the course of a few days. I have moved most of my holdings to tether to ride out this storm.
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounties and Scam!! on: September 12, 2018, 05:20:15 AM
There are many ICO which doesn't pay it's bounty participants after the sales or pay less what they promised in the begining of the ICO. I would like to find out how many such ICO's are there in the market who scammed the bounty participants. Would like to ask the community to list such ICOs here in this thread!!

I got scammed by CASHBAG(CBC) Bounty Program- After submitting our documents for KYC, admin vanished with our personal info(Admin Name:
Jonathan Miller).
Hi! This is Ruby-X! Ruby-X will present tokens for bounty within 14 days from the end of bounty campaigns!
And the end is left only 11 days (until 23 Sep!)
I am really appreciating to every bounty participants cuz I believe we create Ruby-X together.
Participants don't need KYC for Bounty Campaign. just visit Ruby-X's bounty thread Smiley Thanks !

Did you really just attempt to spam advertising in someone else's thread? It doesn't give me a lot of confidence in your project if you need to beg people to join your channel for starters. that's a new low dude...
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty hunter, now what are you going to do? on: September 12, 2018, 05:16:10 AM
Everything seems to indicate that the market is mortally wounded, and the main cryptocurrency that had served as a means of payment for those who participate in bounties (ethereum), has lost the confidence of investors and developers who are looking for new alternatives to face the lack of capital willing to take risks in this market. Therefore, it is likely that the bounty hunters will have to settle for peanuts as of this year.

And now, when after three or six months of participating in campaigns you are compensated with tokens without any value and you realize that this business is dead, what are you going to do, bounty hunter?

This won't really affect me at all because i don't just participate in any old campaign. The project has to be outstanding for me to even bother with it in the first place. I spend a long time researching any potential projects website and reading the whitepaper and looking into if they are going to gain traction further down the road before using my time and energy on them.
