21  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Ledger vs Trezor Tracking & Cookie privacy competition on: October 30, 2020, 12:42:40 PM
In order not to be a guinea pig whose behavior is studied on every site you should install a blocker. For example, I have been using a tunnelbear blocker for this purpose for a long time.

You can read about it here -

If you want a more robust Trezor device than the one you have now, you can always go for the Metallic version of the Trezor One.
https://shop.trezor.io/product/trezor-one-metallic
It is made from anodized aluminum that better prevents corrosion, it improves the wear resistance, and electrical insulation capabilities. But it also costs €580, an amount most people aren't ready to give out for a hardware wallet.

This source explains the features of anodized aluminum, if you are interested:
https://www.meiprecision.com/4-features-anodized-aluminum-products/

It seems to me that anodized aluminum will in no way increase the life of the Trezor. The only thing he can protect him from is solely from mechanical damage. Otherwise, the anodized aluminum Trezor has the same internal part, the same microcircuits and the same filling, so you should not expect any increased service life from it. it will be easier to have a pair of spare Trezors of the same modification, this will radically solve the problem when you need to quickly restore a broken Trezor through a seed phrase.
23  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: My Trezor is broken! on: October 29, 2020, 07:46:58 AM
This is where HW security keys may come in handy. Two or even three instances of such  devices (hold exclusively for authorization purpose)  would be more cost effective   that the same quantity of Trezors. Besides  having less electronic components ( no display and relating biasing circuits) HW security key is more reliable and will last a longer time. I have created a dedicated thread for them. Keep reading if interested.
Yes I agree. The authentication key is a device specially designed for this purpose, which will probably last several times longer than my Trezor. Moreover, if you very often use Trezor for authentication purposes, then for sure it will become unusable much faster than if it was used only as a wallet.

If U2F is not cross-compatible, then there is a strong argument to made to always have a second device as a back up stored somewhere secure in the event of loss or failure of your first device.
This is a very correct thought. And in fact, I was fighting back in 2015 to buy myself a spare Trezor. But for some reason i didn't.  And now i see that it's a rather stupidly. Now I will have to wait another week and a half until the new Trezor is delivered to me. All these weeks and a half, I will not have access to either the mail or the stock exchange. In conditions when there is now a strong growth in bitcoin, it was rather stupid to be left without a spare Trezor. But apparently this will be a lesson for me for the future.
25  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Constructive Financial Advice Needed on: October 28, 2020, 02:06:42 AM
If you have no experience in trading, then you do not need to start trading bitcoin. Just buy it and wait as long as it takes. It may take a year or two years or even more, but you will see how your investment gradually increases and it will inspire you. Do not start trading, because otherwise you will lose this money.
26  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading without losses? on: October 28, 2020, 02:02:18 AM
Look what bitcoin is doing !!! With such a pace, we can break through the level of 15000 by the end of the week. It turns out that no pandemic and no elections have the slightest effect on it! It grows by leaps and bounds!

This is what I call lossless trading! Buy bitcoin and wait for it to fly into the sky!
27  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Price of Bitcoin, gold and the unemployment rates in the USA. on: October 27, 2020, 07:46:38 AM
I think that these graphs may well correlate for this reason: It is no secret to anyone that the pandemic in the first place deals a very tangible blow to the US economy. The economy begins to suffer and, accordingly, large masses of people begin to seriously think about what to do with their savings so that they are not subject to inflation, and naturally some of these people turn their eyes towards bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. And thus, it can have a rather tangible effect on the price of bitcoin.
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: e billing cash in telegram on: October 27, 2020, 07:41:05 AM
Just be careful in joining programs on telegram cause mostly of those programs are scam.  Always do to a research or ask a professional before making decision especially when it comes into investing were money is involve.
I had one case when I participated in some airdrop during which it was necessary to install a bot in my telegram account. And then, after I was going to remove this bot, it turned out that I could not do it. This bot kept appearing in my account all the time despite the fact that I complained about it, and despite the fact that I tried to stop its activity and block it.
29  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Best Way to Store Your Nano Ledger S? on: October 27, 2020, 07:30:35 AM
They secure two years warranty. After that period they ensure nothing. Trezor has on board plenty of electronic components which are not military-grade in regards of their quality. Therefore any of them, especially capacitors,  may out of commission at any  moment.  5-years id a good serving period so you may think over the purchasing new device.
I already ordered another trezor, and I had to do it not only because I needed to restore my coins, I had to do this because I used my trezor as a key of two-factor authentication for access to mail and some exchanges.

And yes, in fact, I think that five years is a pretty good, considering that I have been operating it almost daily, except on weekends.

Still, despite this, hardware wallet makers may need to consider making their devices a little more durable than a regular electric shaver.

I had a little incident yesterday with my Trezor. It stopped working. When I connected it to the USB connector, the screen began to pulsate white and then completely went out. I kept it, as usual, in my office in a desk drawer. Humidity in my region is normal, neither high nor low. He served me a little over 5 years. So, I'm wondering - 5 years is its normal lifespan for this device ?
31  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: My Trezor is broken! on: October 26, 2020, 11:15:54 AM
Yes. The private keys used in the 2FA app are derived from the seed phrase the Trezor was set up with, and so recovering the seed phrase to another device will recover the 2FA app just as it would recover a bitcoin wallet.
Thank you so much buddy. You calmed me down a lot. The fact is that some time ago I lost my mobile number and therefore I entered the mail almost always using my Trezor as a second factor. It remains to purchase a new Trezor and restore it. Thank you very much for the hint.
32  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / My Trezor is broken! on: October 26, 2020, 10:20:33 AM
I had an unexpected situation last night. Suddenly my first Trezor, which I bought back in 2015, stopped working. When I tried to connect it to the USB connector, the screen started flashing and he stopped responding to button presses. I checked it after a couple of hours but everything is still - the screen is blinking and it doesn't work anymore.

To make matters worse, I used it as a second factor to access my gmail. In this regard, I had a question - if I buy a new Trezor and restore it using a seed-phrase, will the function allowing it to be used as a key for two-factor authentication also be restored? Or not ? Has anyone encountered such a situation? If so, please give an answer to this question. It is very important for me to know if I have a chance to recover it exactly as a two-factor authentication key.
33  Economy / Exchanges / Re: What is KYC for crypto exchanges? on: October 24, 2020, 12:56:47 PM
The presence of a KYC when registering on an exchange - I perceive this fact in two ways. On the one hand, this means that the exchange is legal and complies with the laws, it can also help improve the security of my account.

On the other hand, if my data leaks into the network due to hacking of the exchange by hackers, then later it can turn into the fact that anyone will use my documents. And potentially this can lead to the fact that I will become a participant in some illegal financial manipulations as a result of which the authorities may have claims against me.

For this reason, if there is an alternative, then I prefer decentralized exchanges, for registration on which I do not need to provide my documents.
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Newbies are safer with top altcoins on: October 23, 2020, 04:53:55 PM
It seems to me that all these recommendations about greater security and buying only top-end coins will be ignored by most newbies. Think back to yourself in 2017, did anyone think that the market could stop growing? Of course not) The same thing will happen now with all newbies. The loss of profit syndrome will haunt them.
35  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to start trading on the crypto exchange? on: October 22, 2020, 08:33:29 AM
In order to start trading on a cryptocurrency exchange, you need just a little - register on it and make a deposit. All this can be done within 10-15 minutes. However, not everything is so simple. You should be very responsible when choosing a trading platform and trust larger and more proven platforms. It is also worth getting a hardware wallet in advance - this will be the safest and easiest solution for storing your coins.
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Airdrops Confusion on: October 22, 2020, 08:25:37 AM
Yes, there is some confusion in terminology. Many projects call this - airdrop, but its something that looks more like a bounty campaign, since it implies active action on the part of the participants. But often this substitution of terms is done deliberately in order to manipulate people. For this reason, you need to look at which requirements in airdrop, you may not even want to participate in it.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Forget bounties and Airdrops on: October 22, 2020, 08:17:21 AM
In order to be able to earn big money, you need to have a sufficiently high qualification. The bulk of people are at the level of ordinary users who are only able to participate in the bounty. In order to become a developer, you must have a sufficiently high level of programming.
38  Economy / Economics / Re: The Real Situation :( on: October 21, 2020, 01:01:30 PM
The world is acquiring new stability and new form. The fact that transformations take place through crises is normal. You can't be sick and then recover in five minutes. First you need to get medical treatment. And now this is happening - the healing of our planet and everyone living on it. Otherwise it can not be. And I would say that in general, everything happens in a rather sparing mode (in my opinion).
39  Economy / Economics / Re: I lost my job, how about you guys? on: October 21, 2020, 12:57:44 PM
I agree that the pandemic and the limitations associated with it bring a lot of difficulties into our life. Logistics, production, sales - literally all technological stages of production and sales of products - now work very differently than before the pandemic. A large number of jobs are being cut due to the fact that enterprises are closed or are forced to send their specialists on forced leave. These are really difficult times for each of us.
40  Economy / Economics / Re: How Can Blockchain Improve Healthcare? on: October 21, 2020, 12:50:50 PM
As for healthcare and covid-19 in particular, I have not the slightest doubt that the use of blockchain-based technologies can qualitatively modernize this system, but in my opinion literally every person in this world can do for their health, including prevention covid-19 much more without resorting to any services of doctors or paid medicine. For several decades, there has been a breathtaking method of breathing (Buteyko breathing method). Practicing this every day - you will do much more for yourself and your health than all doctors in the world. For those who do not know - here is the link:
