21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / low number of ICOs on NEO platform on: February 01, 2018, 04:48:36 PM
Hi,
I read great things about NEO but surprisingly there have been about 27 ICOs as per one spreadsheet.
But even more surprising thing is that Asian teams continue to start hundreds of ERC20 based ICOs.
Why are they not doing them on NEO platform? Because the Chinese govt is involved in NEO?
Thanks so much

I see so many ERC20 ICOs with Asian teams.
I wonder why they are not doing it on Neo?
Thanks

How has the China ICO ban affected Neo ICOs?
Thanks so much

Hi All,
I am between jobs and started to invest in cryptos and ICOs and that lead me to decide to switch to a career in blockchain!
I am a backend developer with experience in C, C++, Java, RDBMS and decent exposure to python, perl, javascript, node.js, AWS in wide variety on companies.

I actually started to study Cryptocurrency course from Coursera by Princeton, but their assignments are based in Java.
Why Java when blockchains use C, C++ and smart contracts use scripting languages?

I looked and some job postings and most of them ask for hyperledger or ethereum experience.
Most of the ICOs use ethereum while hyperledger is more for enterprises I believe.
Any thoughts on which is more lucrative and which one has more scope and demand?
And the best way to study these?

Any suggestions where I can contribute to some open source project to gain experience?
Or work for a startup for no salary?

Thanks so much

I hope the powerful guys who support crypto make a strong reaction to Davos talk..

So basically we are trying to disrupt established systems and they are not going to let that happen easily.
Best option is to educate people so that they adopt crypto.
31  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / anonymity and lack of transparency on: January 27, 2018, 07:06:32 PM
Hi,
I was reading some articles about what was said at the Davos economic summit. See this quote below:
"The fact that the anonymity, the lack of transparency and the way in which it conceals and protects money laundering and financing of terrorism and all sorts of dark trades is just not acceptable," Christine Lagarde, managing director of the International Monetary Fund, said during a panel talk in Davos earlier this week.

Any thoughts? Are there any new features or coins that overcome these problems?
How do we educate these people who keep talking like this?

Criminals have been using fiat currencies for ages, but they are not concerned about that.

Thanks
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / mainstream adoption of blockchain on: January 27, 2018, 06:04:47 PM
Hi,
I keep hearing that many of the wallstreet companies are already into blockchain some way or the other.
If blockchain is in the same state as internet in the early 90s, there is still a lot to come.
Will they build their own blockchains? In which case the plethora of altcoins will bite the dust.
Or they could just acquire altcoin companies?
Altoins seems to be trying to run a parallel economy..

Thanks in advance

How do I tell which ones are scam?
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / technical analysis on: January 20, 2018, 01:59:06 AM
Hi All,

I am new to this and I am trying to understand the benefits of technical analysis.
Could it tell what happened to Bitconnect?
I am so used to thinking that coins and stocks go up or down based on news, events and rumors.

Thanks so much

I mean what if China bans everything as we hear, what will be the future of NEO?
Thanks

Hi All,

Given the Chinese govt bans, what is the future of NEO?

Thanks in advance
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / value of ETH on: January 20, 2018, 01:45:26 AM
Hi All,

I understand ETH is a platform and tons of new startups are coming up based on ERC20.
It is open source, right? How do they make money (err revenue)? I don't understand how it is valued.
Like bitcoin is being used as a stored value, like gold.
Why would ETH go up from here? what would be the catalysts or triggers?
Also, are there any competitors coming up in the horizon?

Thanks in advance
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / blockchain and bottom line on: October 20, 2017, 06:11:43 PM
Hi All,
So many startups are coming up with ideas to use blockchain of this and for that, looks like every walk of life can use blockchain.
But what are the real advantages of blockchain that will bring profit to the bottom line?
Low transaction fees is one thing. But will they remain low forever?
De-centralized or not does not matter to bottom line.
Thanks in advance
