21  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Namecoin setup? on: June 23, 2011, 08:21:14 PM
So I am interested in trying this namecoin thing but I am having a bit of trouble even just getting it to start up. I'm trying to run the client in Windows 7 and use the gui miner for bitcoins as the miner. Is there anyone who can give me a clear, step-by-step guide on how to set this up in Windows 7 or will I just have to run a Ubuntu VM?

I actually have one here from Bailey's that is an X-Large and is in perfect condition with a lil dust from just sitting around. I'll find a webcam and take a few picks if you want. It does not have the box and I have never worn the thing (don't really wear hats but a friend gave it to me).

Man I would love to have that i7 950 and the motherboard but only got 16.6 right now Sad Mining on old platforms and with only one card sucks...
24  Bitcoin / Pools / Payout on different pool on: June 22, 2011, 10:24:50 PM
I am mining on Deepbit right now but, of course, I'm getting shit pay on Proportional payout. Now I was wondering if I switched to a different pool with a lower amount of power, would that increase my payout or would switching to a new pool and going Pay per Share increase my income? I only want to do this until I can get my hands on a platform upgrade from the bitcoins I've accumulated as my poor desktop needs a rest  Roll Eyes Any advice? I'm running only a 5850 non-ref because I have nothing else.

Alright so I'm just looking for working LGA 1366 items. If you have any processors, motherboards, or tri-channel DDR3 ram, post it up here or pm me with what you are looking to get for it.
26  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Paying for Help with Motherboard issue ATI CARD PROBLEM on: June 22, 2011, 12:39:57 AM
May be a chipset driver issue? Try updating all drivers as needed then check if there may be something in the bottom PCI-e x16 slot that may be causing the motherboard to go into x4 mode. If that doesn't work, I don't know, try running 2 ATI card in both slots then remove only the bottom card after shutting down.

28  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gmail unusual activity on: June 19, 2011, 10:18:17 PM
Yea same happened with my secondary gmail account. Mt Gox is in the shit now. I'm lucky I haven't done any business with them so I haven't lost anything other than trust in their systems.

Since I'm running a non-reference 5850 from XFX my income on the bitcoin side is minimal and as I am a college student my cash income is nil. Once I get the new motherboard, processor and ram I will run my old 5670 to try to increase the flow of coins. I may be able to get the processor from a friend in the near future but my chances are slim at that.

What continent are you on? (for shipping purposes)

I am in the US near Louisville, Kentucky.

I should have products on my site that fit your needs soon. More products will be added Monday Morning! 1155 motherboards will be available. Along with many other things. Check out https://www.bitporium.com

Now will you have a bundle deal or is it just separate? I did look on your site and see you had the 2600K and a few other things. I'm only mining with my 5850 as my motherboard only has one PCI-e slot on the damn thing.

Current rates for used cards on average are as follows.

5830 - 6.5btc shiped USPS
5870 - 8btc
6990 - 12-14btc depending on colling

numbers are bassed on what I have payed and seen in the forums. Good luck with your sale

I got 14 BTC for that 6990! Send some info my way!

I am running a Intel Q8300 on a single PCI-e x16 motherboard and I am sick of it. So I need to see if someone on here will sell their old 1366 processor, motherboard and ram THAT WORKS or a Sandy Bridge bundle for around 14-15 BTC shipped. The motherboard needs to have at least 2 PCI-e x16 lanes so I can throw another card in. I will use clearcoin and will need to see at least some feedback on previous trades to verify you are a respectable seller. I can't do much for crossfire on the LGA 775 chipset so I need to go up at least a few platforms to still be able to game on my setup. Thank you.
33  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What kind of supposedly free country... on: June 15, 2011, 09:30:58 PM
Alright so I will respect everyone's right to choose if you want to recite the Pledge or not. That is what America is SUPPOSED to be about! Choice and freedom! I have had ingrained into me that when I say that Pledge, I say it not for what the country IS right now but what this country stands for. This a country where anything and everything is possible through hard work. You want to be president? Get off your ass and work for it. You want to make a company that pulls in over a billion dollars a year? Start working on it and dedicate your life to it. You can be and do anything you can think of in this country. America has lost most of what it once stood for but I will keep saying that Pledge not for a country that may seem to have gone to shit but to a country that is the epitome of freedom.

Sorry man but at that speed you will never find a block. Just join a pool and get a steady stream from there.
36  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Anyone tried 6 cards on GD70? on: June 14, 2011, 09:49:38 PM
It seems from everything I have seen and what people are saying is you can run them on 1000w psu and still have a little bit of headroom. I say just go for it. It also would depend on the quality of the psu too so grab a nice corsair and it should have no problems.
37  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: The Most Efficient Rig on: June 11, 2011, 09:33:32 PM
Going by that chart, the 6950 is only 13% more efficient than the 5830. For that money the 5870 looks a lot better.

But try to even FIND a 5870.

These are actually pretty neat! When you do them in sterling I'll buy one.
39  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: If Bitcoins crash or go away, what do you plan to do with your mining rig? on: June 09, 2011, 09:02:01 PM
I actually intend to switch to Folding@Home if Bitcoin crashes. Go from making money to helping cure cancer  Grin
40  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Radeon HD What? on: June 07, 2011, 05:42:34 AM
Radeon HD 5830s, 5850s and 5870s are the ones for best cost-to-return ratios for any cards but the major issue is availability. They are pretty much sold out in every place you look or the prices have been jacked up. 3 5850s would be good if you can find them or the 6950 would work too. 6950 will be easier to find and they won't be outrageously over-priced. They won't get the same mining power as the 5800 series but will come close.
