22  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon batch [2] countdown! on: July 01, 2013, 09:09:16 PM
Holy crap DHL is fast....an hour ago is was clearing customs in China, now it's in Ohio. If only avalon was so fast
23  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon batch [2] countdown! on: July 01, 2013, 02:56:05 PM
So who in batch 2 paid last?  I am at the beginning of batch 3 so I am hoping to see the tail end of 2 soon.

Still waiting on 50% of my batch #2 orders....they have a ways to go before they finish batch #2.
24  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: The Impending Stalemate on Mining Hardware and ROI on: June 29, 2013, 10:03:13 PM
Bitcoin mining is a waiting game.  Those who can wait the longest will benefit the most.

If you like waiting I've got a bunch of GPUs that I'll sell cheap
25  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon batch [3] countdown! on: June 29, 2013, 06:55:30 PM
lots of batch 2 orders completing as of now.

batch 3 might be starting within hours

Lol.  Yeah right.
26  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon batch [2] countdown! on: June 29, 2013, 03:17:51 PM
Us batch 3ers are left in the gutter.

And many batch 2 orders still are still not shipped.

I'd say they have more unshipped orders than units in peoples hands from batch #2.

I've started a donation address - 14yS9qMQKJZNzmPHBzfVwWTzxct43m6ytn

When we get enough for 20 plane tickets we'll fly an angry mob right to Avalon HQ.

Pitchforks are on me.

Let's see how many units a day they can pump out with metal tines stuck in their ass.
27  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon batch [2] countdown! on: June 29, 2013, 03:01:05 PM
Another #22xx order completed with tracking....looks like there is no way in hell that #3xxx orders will be going out by the end of the month. At this rate they will take several more weeks
28  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon batch [2] countdown! on: June 29, 2013, 01:59:06 PM
Here we are at the end of the month and the majority of my units are "processing".  What happened to April? May? Now June
29  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: How much whould you pay for three Avalon's right now? on: June 29, 2013, 01:53:59 PM
I do not play by greed and wealth since this is not my character attribute Wink

There's knowledge who can teach you the most objective human view that it gets, since human kind its flowing in the wrong direction. The younger you are, the least you have to teach. It is the knowledge, that is everyone born with. But also you need someone to talk with, to come to awareness. It is like universal formula for everyone, to live well, be well, be healthy and to discover what is real You Wink

I can gladly write something about this knowledge Wink

What a pile of bullshit

bumpity
31  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Selling my in-hand Avalon Batch #2 on: June 28, 2013, 03:01:44 AM
A bunch of you have PMs back.

Highest clock I've pushed it to was 375, which ran stable at over 85ghash, but I've dialed it back to a more reasonable setting for longevity.  The ac keeps temps in the 30s even at full load.

Located in State college, PA.
32  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon stable @ 98,986Mhash/sec on: June 27, 2013, 09:14:54 PM
This Avalon is for sale. Asking 190BTC/shipped.

This is clearly a push back against innovation like bitcoin. They need to stay relevant somehow. I'm not sure this makes any sense though.  Who is their target market? Who will make use of this?
34  Economy / Computer hardware / Selling my in-hand Avalon Batch #2 on: June 27, 2013, 08:43:39 PM
I'm looking to sell my batch #2 Avalon ASIC. Unit is in hand, happily hashing away in an air conditioned environment as we speak.

Asking price is 180 Bitcoins.  Price includes Overnight DHL shipping.
35  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon orders - batch #3 refund requests thread on: June 25, 2013, 09:33:49 AM
Here goes an update regarding two refund requests:

I submitted a refund request for a batch 3 asic and have not heard anything yet nor received a refund.

Edit: This was about 6 days ago.

Same with me.

Unacceptable.  The incompetence is astounding.  If you need more employees then hire more employees, its not like they don't have the money, they are only refunding a fraction of the value of the bitcoins you paid them.  They still make over $4000 without shipping a thing.
36  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Active avalon cooling - anyone got a cooler avalon than mine? on: June 25, 2013, 01:20:40 AM
why do people go with portable ac units when you can build your own liquid cooling systems for around half the price.... or dont you do that stuff in the US

Half the price of what?  An AC unit I already have? Don't think so.
37  Bitcoin / Hardware / Avalon stable @ 98,986Mhash/sec on: June 24, 2013, 11:55:29 PM

Batch 2.  Active cooling + overclock. Each tweak I apply bumps the GHash.

Now I'm shooting for 100Ghash/sec. Who is with me?
38  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Server Sky - Space based mining? on: June 24, 2013, 07:05:33 PM
What an awesome concept.  You use the electricity in space, don't try to beam it back.

I've been thinking about a self-contained unit that runs straight of a solar panel, turning the electricity straight into bitcoins without inverters or batteries or wires.  This takes that concept to a whole new level.

Is there any reason they need to orbit earth?  Why not put them in orbit around the sun?  They can form their own mesh communication networks and work together as a phased antennae array for long distance communication.
39  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Active avalon cooling - anyone got a cooler avalon than mine? on: June 24, 2013, 06:50:57 PM
Won't this create a lot of moisture within the unit itself??

Just the opposite, the AC unit pulls a ton of moisture out of the air. About a gallon every 6 hours.  So not only is the intake cool air, it is dry too.

Cool system,

Maybe you should DIRECT the exhaust hot air from the unit to outside, this way, you keep the heat out.

I've been thinking about this. It makes sense. Although with the setup I've got in place now the exhaust is actually cool air.

If I get some more units I think I'll rig up a duct system to direct cold air into the intakes and concentrate all the exhaust for dumping outside.
40  Other / Archival / Re: Pictures of your mining rigs! on: June 24, 2013, 06:45:41 PM

The full extent of my mining operation. Peak temp of 35*

Loving the homemade UPS beneath the rig Smiley

Is that an avalon unit?

Agreed. A friend of mine and I were talking about doing something similar with 12v marine batteries. What batteries are you using there?
Yeah, it's a batch 2 avalon overclocked to ~85+ GHash

They are Die Hard platinums, but they are actually just rebranded Odyssey Pc1500/PC1700 depending on which size you buy.  Odyssey makes the finest lead acid batteries in the world, and being able to buy them at sears with a 3 year full replacement/7year pro-rated warranty is pretty cool, not that you'll need it.

A UPS is easy to make. It even gives you a nice convenient place to tie in any solar panels or wind energy you've got.
