21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think this year will be Red? on: February 26, 2018, 07:44:07 PM

Do you have any good reason to believe that the crypto market is going to grow this year? Do you think we may end up in all red? I do not see the growth and happy investing of last years.

This is a complex question. Here is my humble opinion based on personal research.

Last year was a huge adoption period. Lots of people started exploring therefore investing in crypto. Lots of good projects came to live, lots of terrible abominations too. But still, the people are interested in the tech. Most of the newcomers have hardly any knowledge on the topic. So the current red theme in the market is based on speculation and safe betting. Let's not forget that there are no particular laws governing the crypto world, so the average person can be easily confused on what to do at a given moment.

The market will grow no matter what. Lots of companies are starting to explore the blockchain and it is a matter of time (several years maybe) to be quite common in our daily lives. The applications of the tech are immense. Till then all we can do is learn, hodl and eventually build something new.

I agree with your opinions here, although I think news about the industry and regulations may be playing a bigger part in slower growth rates. There was a lot of noise and distortion at the end of 2017 and this has forced some companies to pump the brakes with their ICOs. I think this is a good thing in the long run. I am hopeful this will separate the serious from the fraudulent. 2018 might turn out to be a rather slow year, but if it is, this may set 2019 up as a year that will really gain momentum.

As you stated, people are interested in the tech. I don't see this changing. I am willing to accept a slow down this year if this leads to longer-term stability.
22  Other / Serious discussion / Stock Market Vs Crytocurrencies on: February 23, 2018, 07:12:48 PM
The U.S. stock market has been performing very well. At the same time, cryptocurrencies have been all over the place. I personally feel there is more risk right now with cryptos. I have been debating withdrawing some crypto and putting it in my stock portfolio. I understand the stock market can crash just as quickly and just as hard as the crypto markets, but I have tried to diversify to avoid substantial losses in either case. I am also looking at other places where I can invest.

I would like to get some opinions from others about this. These are some of the specific questions I have.

For those hodling cryptocurrencies, do you also have anything invested in stock? If so, how much do you have in stock vs. crypto as a percentage?
Do you participate in forex trading?
Do you own gold or other precious metals?

25  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buy a can of Coca-Cola for 500$ - it's cheap on: February 09, 2018, 04:22:51 PM
Coca cola destroys your enamel. It's a drink for dumb people who don't know how to prepare healthy juice with vitamins on their own.
I have blender, juice squeezer and I f*ck corporations which destroy the world.

Juice is great for your enamel, isn't it?
26  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Friendly countries on: February 08, 2018, 06:29:18 PM
And how are you so sure about that? The South America countries are more bitcoin friendly at the moment,
they are just releasing laws in order to protect bitcoin investors.
Germany, Denmark and Slovenia from EU.

And in fact, in Venezuela, the government was looking to create their own cryptocurrency in order to make their own economy grow up, because they are a very poor country.

Lmao.

Venezula closer to chaos. all happened after their x president Hugo Chawez's death. sad..

No, Venezuela definitely started to fall apart when Chavez was alive and Maduro was his righthand man.
27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Friendly countries on: February 08, 2018, 06:07:14 PM
china ,S.korea and N.korea are best friends of bitcoin at the same time making noise to get cheaper coins .

Umm...no
28  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So Bitcoin is better than Gold? on: January 22, 2018, 06:31:14 PM
So Bitcoin is better than Gold? Roll Eyes
Wake me up when you can transfer $1 billion worth of gold for $2 in ~10 minutes from any to any location of the world. Roll Eyes

Haha. You nailed it.
29  Other / Off-topic / Re: What age to teach kids about crypto? on: January 22, 2018, 06:28:12 PM
Any child who is old enough to understand accounting principles like credits and debits or corporate stocks should be able to understand the basics of bitcoin. Kids who are technologically astute will understand it even better. This could be anywhere from the age of 8 to 12.
30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A bigger dip to come? on: January 19, 2018, 06:13:06 PM
Dip and rise is the key to a healthy economy. Supply and demand.

It will dip again. The pessimist in me thinks it would crash harder sometime this year. There are puppet masters pulling strings and manipulating values. Let's just hope they want to keep the value high.
31  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin tied to stock market? on: January 18, 2018, 11:11:24 PM
I thought BTC was supposed to not be tied currently to the stock marker but I find it weirdly strange that while the stock market is crumbling so is BTC, and many other commodities.

I've been wondering about this lately. The crypto markets took a nosedive at the same time the stock market broke 26,000. Clearly, these markets do not move in unison. Is it possible they react differently? Cryto is a global economy but a lot of the investment is made in the United States.
32  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin replace gold? on: January 18, 2018, 11:07:21 PM
Gold in general is no better. The value of gold is nothing more than a result of a global consensus

hold it right there...
Gold is not just some shit you extract from earth and trade it to just have value. it has a thousand and one different usages in a wide range of fields. from electronics to medical. and from big (macro) to small (nano) sizes of it is being used.
and the "value" comes from these plus scarcity of it.

Absolutely correct. Comparing bitcoin to gold is like comparing apples to oranges.
33  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Good news The market began to rise and return !!! on: January 18, 2018, 11:03:23 PM
It was a 3 day crash. If you don't have patience for 3 days, you shouldn't be in crypto. The nature of this market is like that, extreme volatiliy and very hard swings, both up and down.

Three days is an eternity in crypto years Wink
34  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoint to $1,800 USD by end of 2018 on: January 17, 2018, 07:04:18 PM
Nope that will never happen.
Bitcoin will not go down lower than 10.000$

It already has today.
35  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you keep buying? on: January 17, 2018, 06:48:20 PM
Bitcoin price keeps increasing. Price is x10 considering last year. Even 25k-50k-100k is predicted.

Are you adding more bitcoin by buying with cash? or you trade or invest in ICOs & altcoins in order to increase the amount you have?

or do you just hold what you have?

I think I'm a fairly conservative investor. I'm currently out with bitcoin but holding numerous altcoins. Mostly ethereum and a little litecoin.
36  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I think this crash is good on: January 17, 2018, 06:45:00 PM
I actually start to feel good about it. Hope it weeds out all that dont care about crypto but were purely in it for monetary gains and didnt know one horseshit bout the tech or anything.

In hindsight i didnt liked the enourmous gains. It was surreal. I dont mind not having cashed out because i thought: and then what? Why are u in it? Because at this stage its nothin but a ponzi. I want to take gains when the blockchain bases companies are actually in operating, thriving.

From the start i wanted to take gains for when the masses get in, for use, not the masses that are speculating. Cause then its nothin more then another bitconnect ponzi. Lets face it. All these whales that are taking profits. I dont want to be one of them. They take ponzi money. From people that worked hard for their money. And now they lost it. Sure, panic sellers as well. But still i imagine lot of profit takers as well.

But other then that i rather have a little more stable growth and more people that love crypto. Even the useless eth token scammers contribute more to crypto then mindless investors.

And i feel more normal again. I was gaining so much that, in hindsight, i was starting to lose myself a bit. Even my dreams and ambition.

I couldn't agree more. The crash is a good thing in the long run. No question there has been a lot of unknowledgeable investors who simply heard the news buzz and hastily invested in crypto.
37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Will Kill The Income Tax on: January 11, 2018, 04:29:28 PM
IF it were to kill the income tax, you can be absolutely assured there will be a new tax put in its place.
38  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kodak starts bitcoin mining + launches KodakCoin on: January 11, 2018, 04:21:32 PM
I am happy to hear that. It could be a revival of the legendary company. I used to buy Kodak's films back in 90s and it was sad that it became a bankrupt in 2012. Let's hope that ICO will help Kodak bring back its old days.

Hopefully, they will survive with help from blockchain. I have always thought there would be a resurgence of film photographers. I always liked doing film photography and I think there are a lot of people my age who feel the same way and sometimes younger generations get into retro things like this.

When I was Christmas shopping this year, I saw a Polaroid camera at the store. It looked like the original film cameras.
39  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to explain bitcoin to teenagers or children on: January 11, 2018, 04:15:55 PM
Bitcoin is difficult to explain. I also felt difficulties in understanding bitcoin for the firs time. Let's share how to explain bitcoin to children of teenagers. In My country I can say 98% children don't know bitcoin. In fact, bitcoin can be future money. If the children not familiar with cryptocurrency or bitcoin, how can they face the digital era in the future.

I don't think so.
In fact, I really think that teenagers or children can understand Bitcoin much better than older generation.
They are born in digital age, with Internet and they are very open for the new technologies, ideas and projects.
Also, they learn much faster than elderly people and I really don't think they will need much explanation about Bitcoin.
As soon as they see benefits of Bitcoin, they will adapt it.
I don't worry about this point at all.

I agree. How is it any harder to explain than a credit card transaction? How can you explain that you are spending money you actually don't have and are borrowing from a bank. Same with cash. Isn't it just paper? You can explain currency on a basic level without getting into the technical details of how it works. If you do go that deep in the discussion, then yes, they will understand it better than the average 50 year-old.
40  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think are the biggest disadvantages of Bitcoin? on: January 11, 2018, 04:08:48 PM
I think a number of things.

  • Still a new technology, unproven.

I think it is so foreign to the average person they don't understand it well enough to use it. There are so many people who are just barely getting exposure to bitcoin. There is a learning curve so it's just easier for people to use other forms of payment and not explore how bitcoin works.
