...

Thanks for the update, I love seeing pictures and videos from the front line. Granted I have no idea what is being measured in the second picture. From the tasks name I assume it's testing the functionality of the Avalon chips by applying a voltage?
22  Economy / Securities / Re: LABCOIN Speculation Thread on: August 03, 2013, 08:02:42 AM
I think people will sell the first batch of btcgarden shares and dump the btc right back into labcoin

It's the circle of life.

24  Economy / Securities / Re: LABCOIN Speculation Thread on: July 31, 2013, 08:38:55 PM
I predict it's going to crash.

Here is why:

1) Mass hysteria over the IPO. This is rarely a good sign for an IPO. The IPO was overbooked by almost 3 times.

2) Everyone who wasn't able to buy in the IPO wasn't able to because of glitches with the BTCT.CO website. These people are pissed off and not likely to invest now.

3) The mining space is increasing competitive. KNCMiner and Bitfury are about to release their chips and miners and are going to completely overwhelm anyone sill using first generation mining ASICs. Labcoin is behind and won't be able to keep up.

And that's exactly what their IPO price reflects. It's incredibly cheap so they don't have to get as much hashing power online.
25  Economy / Securities / Re: ActiveMining Overview and Speculation Thread on: July 31, 2013, 07:54:46 PM
In positive news...AMC is holding .004. I'm fairly surprised

Edit: in other positive news, while all the lemmings are focused on trying to get into Labcoin IPO, we are presented with a pretty good buying opportunity in just about everything else

This is going to be hilarious once the 66% of the Labcoin IPO Money gets refunded. I don't think I'll be getting any sleep tonight.
26  Economy / Securities / Re: LABCOIN Speculation Thread on: July 31, 2013, 07:52:18 PM
I'm predicting that all the leftover money from the IPO will get poured into BTCGarden without anyone checking the thread.

I still don't get it.
What do you mean by re-financing the property?

Correct me if I am wrong, but it goes like this:

Investors give 40k USD to Branny. Branny buys a house, fixes it up, rents it to a renter. Now Branny has 0 USD but does have a house and a monthly income of (rent). So he goes to the bank and gets a mortgage on the house. Now he has a house, 40k USD and a monthly income of (rent-mortgage payment).

So he starts the cycle over again, Branny buys a second house, fixes it up, rents it to a renter. Now Branny has 0 USD, but does have two houses and a monthly income of ((rent) + (rent - mortgage payment)). He goes to bank for another mortgage, now he has two houses, 40k USD and a monthly income of (2 x (rent - mortgage payment)).

And the cycle can continue until you run out of houses, renters, or credit at the bank.

That's how I understood it too.

Survey: As an individual, what do you most like about LabCoin?

The potential for 10,000% ROI.
Huh

What exactly are you confused about?
How did you come up with a x10 increase? I don't remember how much higher ASICMINER shares went after IPO though, maybe it is possible x10 for Labcoin easily....

If you compare Labcoin to ASICMINER and assume that Labcoin will have the same market cap one day, then you get around 16,000% increase. Here's a comparison of different BTC stocks: http://coinstocks.net

And thus a bubble was born.  Wink
No seriously, I'm just waiting for my 3 confirmations on btctc.
30  Economy / Securities / Re: Compare bitcoin stocks with Coinstocks.net on: July 31, 2013, 11:16:48 AM
I made a quick site to compare different bitcoin stocks: http://coinstocks.net/
It shows the "potential price" of each stock, that's the hypothetical price a stock would have if it had the same market cap as ASICMINER. Of course, this is not a realistic scenario but it helps comparing the possible profit of different stocks.

Your comments and suggestions are welcome.

Cool site, I think adding more assets should be your priority.

If this trend continues I'll own all of ActiveMining soon.  Smiley
32  Economy / Speculation / Re: POLL: when will we see $100/BTC again? on: July 22, 2013, 08:02:54 AM
Voted October, I think we are still in the deflation phase, even if it's turning up at the moment. Once we have reached the baseline things will turn up steadily until the next Bubble comes along.

Hey Ken, I just wanted to congratulate you on the funding of the NRE. Looking forward to the next months.

"There are plenty of shares left as of this writing.  You can purchase the shares on bitfunder.com asset ActiveMining or you can purchase AMC shares on bitfunder and tender them or you can purchase AMC-PT on BTC-TC and tender them."

Got it, thanks. I see that share price is considerably cheaper on BitFunder, maybe i should move funds there (and to diversify) instead of BTCT. Just one more newbie question - at the registration page on BitFunder there is a request to input BTC address. "(Note: This address will be posted in public view, with a listing of shares per asset. This will ensure your anonymity, while being able to prove identity, and holdings.)
This address will not, and can not be used to withdraw to."

Is this an address i can get in my Bitcoin wallet or where should i get/generate this address? Yeah, newbie...

You can use your usual wallet's address. As far as I know it's only used for identifying you as the shareholder (most wallets allow you to sign messages which proves that you are the owner of this adress). When you click on the asset list button on the top of Bitfunder you can see where the address will later be displayed.
36  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's looking a bit bearish right now on: July 03, 2013, 10:06:23 PM
Good thing I held onto my shorts. Last night I was thinking hard about liquidating at 7.19 and going long. Glad I didn't do that!

Bought a few shares, diversification is nice.
38  Economy / Securities / Re: [AMC]-The Official Active Mining Cooperative Discussion on: June 28, 2013, 03:03:35 PM
Umm. Where are the 1,500,000 shares for 0.0025 @ bitfunder?

The wall is gone, but I don't think somebody bought it all  Huh.

This also happened during the release of the first batch of the stock. The 1,500,000 share wall was by Ken (AMC) himself. There seems to be doubt about the current share price so Ken pulled it in hopes that the price might stabilize. He will probably put the shares back out again at a different price once things have cooled off for a bit. Now accusations of fraud and market manipulation will follow.

It's like I'm reading the same thread all over again.
39  Economy / Securities / Re: [AMC]-The Official Active Mining Cooperative Discussion on: June 28, 2013, 02:51:18 PM
So, basically this is a 1 million $ loan and the interest rate is in 10% royalties.
No thanks, I will pass.
I don't think risk/reward are fairly shared here.

I think you are missing the point where VMC provides their miners at production cost to AMC. That's the biggest benefit in my opinion.
40  Economy / Securities / Re: [AMC]-The Official Active Mining Cooperative Discussion on: June 28, 2013, 09:47:37 AM
I'm curious, when do people think the undercutting will stop and more importantly why?

Still, the good news to take is that a sizable portion of the released 2 million have been eaten into and its only been a couple of days. Lets just hope the momentum can continue...

It would be helpful if Bitcoin wouldn't tank right now. I think AMC will remain fairly stable for the next few weeks but the BTC/$ course might still drop, so there's no reason to invest.
