In an effort to please Karma and the Anime Goddesses, I would like to offer one S9's hashpower to a 'smaller miner' in Kano community, for the duration of one week.

This is not a promotional thing and I have nothing to gain from it. Why do I want to do this? Why not..?!

Unless Kano disagrees with this, for some reason, here are the conditions.

- You must be already mining on Kano with a combined hashpower below 10THs (on the Pool Stats page).

- Send me a direct message with your user name, if you qualify and wish to participate. Do not reply to this with your user name, as we don't want to flood the forum, unless it is for a general comment.

- I will randomly draw one qualifying user tomorrow Monday midnight CET. I will then announce the '

Tried to pm you but i cant coz im a noobie lol

Actually @luxMiner didn't realize that there is a default setting in Personal Message Options to allow PMs from Newbie members. Grin

thanks, didn't know that... -it's fixed. Smiley

Let's make mining fun!!

OK by me Smiley

You can also ask me in PM how long they have been mining with the low hash rate and I'll check.
Obviously I wont be giving out detailed answers, but I will let you know if they indeed are a longer term miner with a low hash rate.
The Rewards page shows that clearly.

cool.... will check with you before announcing.Smiley

You could point 10 S9s to the new account for 1Nd to get them fully ramped.  Just an idea.
[/quote]

good thought, but it should be an exercise in patience and long term, rather having it all just presented to them...

thanks for your reactions, guys. anyhow, if you have small kids, it may be a interesting to get them involved in one way or the other, physically, mentally and emotionally. after all, we are doing this for a vision of the future, which the next generation will inherit. why not give them an edge as early as possible.......?

i figured it's never too early to get involved in bitcoin and mining, so i set up a Kano account for my 8 and 10 year olds, and pointed 2 S9s to it.

i assume that the accumulated ramp will be lost (well, it will ramp down on my account), but cannot be transferred to the new account, right?

this should be an interesting exercise... i.e. additional hash for birthdays, etc... Smiley

1) Maybe I'm missing something, but why couldn't you repoint them here in chunks?

2) How would a shorter ramp help since it's not likely for us to hit multiple back to back 500%+ blocks where you'd "lose" the ramp-up 5Nd shares. I'd assume "luck would have it" that we'd continue to approach 100% rather than go farther out in "right field".

Being that this is a forum--as has been pointed out recently--I'd love to hear some other thoughts on this logic.

i have been going by chunks precisely, was up to 280ish last week, having to hear daily complaints of missing daily returns. now, we're back down to 70ish on Kano...!

actually, your second point makes sense... food for thought and subject to discussion. to me, it seems a lot less stressful to have to whole lot run with Kano and figure out the returns once a month, rather following up on a daily basis....

Guys...not a noob here....my point is, pointed 50 terahashes at the pool when it was at 52ph, it is now in the mid 40s. Anyone with substantial hash has generators for backup as do I. The two week ramp up on major hash is killer as it takes away 25% of your earnings for the first month you mine. If one was to pull out of Kano they’d still get hash, I know that. It’s been that way for years. But what didn’t occur in years was only 1 block solve in half a months time. When you are not seeing the increase in hashrate and seeing an increase in round time, the only logical conclusion is to shorten ramp up/ramp down time. This does not incentivize anyone to point new hash here.
I've got about 260th/s pointed here and I've been mining here for 2 years. When I joined the 5nd was like 36 hours and made way more sense than it does now. I would agree that 5nd could be shortened to 3nd or even a 1nd with our current hashrate. I think it would attract lot more new miners. Every time I have brought this up in the past it was shot down. Kano was against changing because it increases the variance and would be to the detriment of those who already reached the 5nd.

i agree with you from an economical point of view, but must also agree with Kano from an idiological perspective. if the ramp were shorter, like 3nd or even 1nd, i would move over 500 TH or more in a heartbeat. however, having a business to sustain and partners to justify the decision to, makes such a move quite difficult to defend.

was away for a while, setting up a permanent mining site.

looks like a good time to jump back in... just added 260TH to the pool. 40 more S9's on the way... (march batch)

let's goooooo! Smiley
...

not that i need to explain myself, but i have 20 machines currently running, and just ordered 40 more with 4 different accounts, under myself and 3 co-investors. Smiley
Well that'll put you in the top 50 already Smiley

top 20ish actually... now i need to crack the top 10!! Smiley Smiley

That's funny because it only takes 20 S9's to get 260Th
...And Bitmain restricted sales of that batch to 10/customer....I only got 8 more myself..

How bad does the luck have to be to payout worse than Slush if they had 100% luck?

That is actually very good question. Slush, at the starting of the year is paying 0,01 BTC per week for 1 x 8TH/s miner. So, 1 month -> 0,04 BTC.

I might be wrong (others can correct me) but I think is a 100% luck or kinda...

What kind of bad luck needs to have Kano Poll for paying less than that? can somebody make the calculation?

here's the calculation:

square root of the thingy over hash times luck to the difficulty of the network equals you're better off with Kano over time.

you're welcome!
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★[ANN] [NAV] NAV COIN - NAVTECH NOW DECENTRALIZED! on: January 25, 2018, 01:37:55 PM
I had some NAVCoin from a few months ago, and sort of forgot about them. Yesterday, I realized that over the past few months, with the rise in price as well as the ongoing staking, i built up a nice little balance. However, as I restarted my computer, the wallet crashed and wouldn't re-open. So I re-installed the latest version of the NAV wallet, replaced my wallet.dat file, downloaded the blockchain, synched the wallet... -and I got it to function eventually, but my balance showed 0. Then I repaired the wallet, and I finally got a balance, but only half of what it was yesterday. I figure half is better than nothing, but is there anything more I can do to restore my full balance?

Thanks you for any thoughts/advice...!

EDIT:
Well, the wallet was 'stable' for the time it took me to write the above post. It just crashed again:

Error: A fatal internal error occurred, see debug.log for details

Back to the beginning, I suppose.... -this is tying....

2nd EDIT:
repeated the process... back with half the balance... -until the next crash i suppose...?
