21  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Low cost but effective solutions to gambling addiction on: December 15, 2023, 11:54:20 PM
I am a gambling addict myself so i can't tell you for sure how and when to quit gambling. Gambling is a costly affair so student body should refrain from it as they don't have enough money to gamble. Moreover if their parents should be made more aware of this matter, then the matter can be resolved. Usually to get rid of an addiction you have to decide first and do what you can do to keep yourself occupied. In fact if you always keep yourself in the running, you can avoid gambling if you want.
It seems you already know from where to start fighting gambling addicition back. To keep your mind occupied and focused on another tasks help you staying away from gambling, so the more you organize and use your time for another activities, the less gambling addiction will bother you and interfere on your internal homeostasis. It's a good and low cost method to be applied on practice.

So far, have you been trying this for your life, or are you just advising others to do so?

I can tell by your gambling that you are short of money. You want to make money from gambling. Or do you want to get rich from gambling? I think you need to find a part-time job to earn money reliably and no longer have time to think about gambling. Gradually, you will understand that money is not as easy to earn as we thought.
In gambling, almost everyone thinks it will be an easy and quick job to make money. As a matter of fact, more people lose money than make money.
22  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: With gambling, it's probably easier to quit cold turkey on: December 15, 2023, 11:26:31 PM
What are your thoughts? Could a problem gambler quit slowly and expect realistic improvements?
Different approach for different gamblers, for some gamblers, their approach to quitting will be to struggle to reduce the number of times they gamble, slowly until they can now control the habit, deciding if to gamble or not. For some other gamblers, stopping once is the best way because they will not be able to pass through the discipline of slow reduction. As a gambler who will like to quit but cannot, think of the other addictions that you may have had in your life and reason how you were able to overcome them. If you are able to remember correctly, maybe you will be able to know if the slow or sudden approach is your style.
I don't think gambling addiction can be solved overnight. It never was an easy task, it never will be. Yes, there are different approach available for different individual. It was my family in my situation. They helped me greatly to overcome my gambling addiction. With time I started spending more times with my families. Additionally, I kept myself busy with work and certain extra curricular activities. With this I didn't have any time left to gamble again.

If you are addicted to gambling, quitting gambling can be even more difficult than quitting drug addiction. Because gambling in some countries is legalized, they do not prohibit people from gambling. And currently, online gambling is growing widely. We can play anytime, anywhere.
A person with an addictionan addict wants to quit. Only he can decide. Relatives and friends can only support him to a certain extent. Quitting gambling was tough because no one could stop him if he still wanted to continue playing.
23  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Target your wins in a series of bets on: December 15, 2023, 10:43:43 PM

In the world of gambling we can say that the percentage of losing is quite bigger than the percentage of winning in short we can not deny the fact that every time we put a bet theres a time that instead of winning streak we got a loss streak cause we can not predict the outcome. But if we are too lucky then whenever we put our bet we  will win cause gambling are Base in luck. Even though you are too old in gambling then still there's a high chance of lossing.

Luck will determine all wins and losses in gambling. No matter how experienced and knowledgeable a person is about gambling, he or she will not be as successful as a lucky person. Luck is the most important factor in gambling.
But as you said, the loss rate is still quite large compared to the win rate. Even if he's lucky, he gambled without following the rules. Leads to addiction. Of course, no one is constantly lucky. Let's not set a big goal of winning. Gambling is entertainment. If you win, then it's luck. Don't lose control of yourself, causing severe consequences in gambling.
24  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Most gamblers do not believe they can consistently make money, that's why... on: December 15, 2023, 10:05:56 PM
I believe that someone really wins big in gambling, it's true. There are successful people and I can also say that I am one of them because even if the winnings are small, as long as you win in gambling and avoid losing big, I can say that you are successful in gambling. Experience will shape you, help you win.
You are right, there are gamblers who have really won big in gambling and there are gamblers who have been successful but we will never know how much gambling capital they have spent gambling because gamblers tend to hide their total losses and they will show off low profits. However, my opinion is that successful gamblers have made high profits but they withdraw all the profits and still gamble within the limits of funds, they do not gamble on all types of gambling but focus on sports gambling that has been analyzed to have a high chance of winning, successful gamblers can also handle risk of loss and not force them to gamble if they feel hesitant to bet.

What do you mean, people who are successful in gambling are those who know how to control themselves? It's not necessary to win a large amount of money.
Yes, that's it. Even if you win big in gambling, you won't be a success if you don't know how to control yourself. I have seen people win big and continue to gamble with all the money they just won. And they lost everything. They even borrow money to continue wanting to get back the money they lost. I also won, and I bet big again. The result is no different. Therefore, successful people in gambling are those who know how to stop at the right time, no matter whether you win or lose.

This summer their president said it wants 400 mil for Osimhen.

I doubt he will leave for less than 150.
Really it's a fantastic figure that the club wants, but recently Osimhen has agreed to a new contract that will soon be completed at the beginning of 2024 in addition to Victor Osimhen will experience a fairly high salary increase, even the media said he had the highest salary in the history of the Napoli club.

This means Chelsea will not have the opportunity to buy Osimhen if he extends his contract until 2026, the clause value is €130M according to sky sport but it could be even higher.
https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1735025642649903502

It seems that Napoli are locking Osimhen up to prevent him from leaving for another club.

150 million, the number is too high. Napoli offering this price means they don't want to sell Osimhen. No club will spend that much money to recruit this striker. Really, only the rich French guy PSG can spend that amount of money to get Osimhen. With the current situation where Mbappé will leave, they can make some money from selling him to recruit Osimhen. Osimhen will be the perfect replacement for their central striker.
26  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you wrap up your gambling session? on: December 14, 2023, 10:39:58 PM
Allocating time is also a good idea, but it's difficult for us to do. It is better to gamble emotionally when we know how to control ourselves and be disciplined in this game. When we are happy, I think it is easier to win in gambling. We can play more during this time.

Allocating time for gambling keeps you disciplined, we have to try to avoid always gambling emotionally or it can make use to not make right bets and we lose. Emotions can make you support your favourite team when they aren't doing better and betting against them would had given you a win but due to having too much emotions in the game, you place a bet for a win for them. Timing gives you a reminder that you have other things to do therefore you'll not waste all your time in gambling. Alot of individuals spend too much time gambling which isn't good.

Try setting a time limit for your gambling activities, you'll see an improvement in the way you gamble and it might give you a positive results. Timing goes along with budgeting as some individual set a specific amount they can use for gambling daily and when that money gets exhausted they have to stop gambling. Stopping yourself from continue gambling when you're winning or losing is very difficult for most individuals so timing and budgeting can help with that

Well, I'll do what you say. Really gamble on emotions. Many times, we don't know when to stop. I played too much and got caught up in the gambling spiral. Maybe I will become addicted if this continues. Do you control yourself by allocating time, as you say? But I think that's okay.
If I do it your way, I will have a schedule to arrange time to do other things. Like playing cards based on emotions, sometimes my time is taken up by gambling.
27  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you wrap up your gambling session? on: December 13, 2023, 11:55:34 PM

Have you wrapped up every session you mean you allocate specific hours on your session and to hit the hour where you should log off you made a wrap-up of your session even though you still have a huge bankroll like you spend 30 minutes wrapping up your bets.
I usually spend 20 minutes going down to my excitement level so when I log out I feel more relaxed

How about you do you wrap up your sessions and how many minutes or hours and do you think it's ok to do a wrap-up?

Allocating time is also a good idea, but it's difficult for us to do. It is better to gamble emotionally when we know how to control ourselves and be disciplined in this game. When we are happy, I think it is easier to win in gambling. We can play more during this time.

I don't have that kind of habit. I will do gambling if I feel I want to do it and will stop if I think it's time to end my session.

It's impossible to me to follow that kind of behavior but instead just be responsible to stop at a given time. I don't know why others are doing some technicalities in their gambling activity. Just have a discipline to take a break once we think it's now good to do it. Sometimes if I really feel it, I can go playing for several hours but if on the way, I feel it's not my day, I will wrap up everything and will do other things instead.

I'm like you. I will gamble according to my feelings. If I'm in a really good mood that day, I will spend more time gambling. There are times when the air is not good. Let's stop gambling. Rest comfortably, participate in a relaxing game, or be entertained by good movies or music that will be better for your mood. At those times, we should not gamble. It will only make us more tired.
28  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The madness of gambling addicts. on: December 13, 2023, 11:33:48 PM
It is an eternal truth that the more time a gambler spends on gambling, the more he becomes addicted to gambling. In this case the gambler has to keep his own control and no one else can help the gambler in this perspective. Reckless gambling not only worsens the gambler's financial condition but can also make his personal life miserable. We often hear of gamblers committing suicide due to gambling losses. What is worth noting for such work is that the gambler often manages to bet beyond his ability. Some bet with borrowed money and others with their wealth. As a gambler, such gambling must be avoided.

The worse side of gambling is the after-effect of addiction, to the point that gambler can take his own life if he loses a lot, though the blame is not for anyone, it's the system that keep that gambler engage, if you have that chance to talk or if you are in that situation better to find someone who can guide you and who can understand your situation.

It's a long-term process of healing, but with proper guidance and self-will you can cure it and you can avoid doing crazy things that gambling addicted person can extent doing it.

I don't think it's that serious. Gamblers can become addicted and dependent on gambling, and this can cause psychological problems such as depression, anxiety, and suicide. They may feel lonely and isolated and not want to participate in social activities. They live a closed life, and gradually, their thinking becomes distorted, and they intend to commit suicide.
Therefore, it is necessary to have measures to control and monitor gambling activities to protect health and avoid negative consequences for the family. At the same time, there needs to be support and help for family members affected by gambling problems so that they can overcome difficulties and abandon the idea of taking their own lives.
29  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What I learnt from a crackhead about gambling on: December 12, 2023, 11:54:31 PM
I have tried both of these things, but I don't think addiction will completely happen, but in my opinion, with drugs it will ruin lives faster. According to scientific research, dopamine is released faster when people use drugs, but basically, if we are an addict, it will almost lead us to many mistakes in life.

Maybe a gambling addict will need a lot of time to destroy his life. I have also witnessed many cases in life where they are like ignorant people, immersed in the feeling of wealth from making money.

After all, once addicted, it is difficult for them to have a chance to do it again, so those objects are always seen as an image that helps us realize the wrong things in life. And sometimes I also think the cause is due to life circumstances when an individual is not brave enough to escape, and they are controlled and blamed for the causes.

That's right, drugs will destroy our lives faster. Because when you're addicted to drugs, you won't have any luck here. It just ruins our lives. I agree that gambling will gradually ruin our lives if we become addicted. Indulging in gambling will disrupt his life. He may lose his job, and his family members will stay away.
But there is still luck in gambling if he is a heavy gambler. Luck was with him, and he won big. I would like to ask, will people say he is addicted to gambling and shun him? We will learn lessons. Or feel like we should try our luck?
30  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Behavioral Change!!! on: December 12, 2023, 10:56:50 PM
Behavior changes due to gambling are something that happens to gamblers all the time. We can see that when we win, our mood will be happy. And when we lose, we get upset. If the player is addicted, the player loses continuously they will become irritable. Gradually, that habit formed. Gambling addiction is similar to addiction to alcohol and illegal substances. They have no control over their actions.
If we are relatives of people addicted to gambling. We should help them quit their addiction. I believe that after detoxification, their human nature will return to what it was before.
31  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you Spending more or less money on Casino this Holiday season on: December 12, 2023, 01:36:10 PM
I have read some of the people posts in this thread and most of them prefer to use less money to gamble even though they get a bonus at the end of this year and I personally will definitely do the same thing, namely use less money to gamble because there are still many needs what I have to fulfill, going on holiday is definitely my main goal because where the children are on holiday from school and spending time with family is more useful than spending a lot of money on gambling where we will actually lose the bonus and not be able to get any profits even though we are losing the same thing money but it is better to spend it on having fun with the family rather than having fun alone for gambling.

It's terrific that you do so. Spending time with family is always a good use. It's only wasteful when we spend too much money gambling. When we have a family, family expenses are always the top priority.
If you're single, you might spend much money at the casinos during these holidays. It will be interesting to use that money to bet on gambling. Maybe you will receive rewards from this or lose some money for this entertainment. Remember, you should only spend the amount of money you are willing to lose. Have a happy holiday, and don't let those days become our bad days.
32  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A hero or a fool? on: December 11, 2023, 11:40:54 PM
I dktnkmow the legalities behind limiting someone to winning $200 or its trespassing but if the story is true then good for that guy.  He  understood he was uncontrollably addicted and did what he thought he needed to get over the addiction.  Most people don't know how to get themselves to stop so good on him.  Most people rely 100% on other people coming up with fixes this guy did it right.

If someone is addicted to gambling, they should ask relatives for help to get rid of the addiction. This is the best way for them to get out of the swamp. Gambling addiction causes dire consequences. They understand the severity of gambling and are trying to escape as quickly as possible.
In gambling, if someone cannot control themselves, they should stop as soon as possible. Stay far away from gambling. I have seen many people ruin their lives because of gambling addiction.
33  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you regret also for ever knowing about gambling? on: December 11, 2023, 11:17:14 PM
I have heard some guys saying they regret of joining gambling and they would not like those of their friends who are not playing gamble to involve themselves in gambling because according to them gambling is a cankerworm which eat wood gradually till the wood break and destroy the wood and that is how gambling does to the gamblers. And for me I can't say I regret of gambling because I only play game s which I interested in and not for income or profit but for fun. Though I use money to gamble and I don't regret for playing games because there are time they took my bad memories to new laughter and make me to forget the sorry of from home.

I feel that there are only people who cannot control themselves. They are addicted to gambling. Gambling took away all their savings. And more seriously, gambling has destroyed their family's happiness. Therefore, they regret knowing about gambling.
For us, gambling is entertainment. I won't overstate that they help us reduce stress in life. Sometimes, gambling even brings me a little reward. There is no reason why I should regret knowing about gambling. I think I will continue to use gambling for entertainment, and if I'm lucky, I will have a little money to spend in everyday life.
34  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you regret also for ever knowing about gambling? on: December 10, 2023, 03:32:20 PM
So I was wondering if some folks here too feel the same way or it was just a matter of grudge and hatred for the particular fellow to stir up such arguement.
Regretting and being angry with the person who introduced you to gambling will not have any good impact on you, if you feel that after getting to know gambling it makes your life difficult then leave it but if it is also difficult to do because maybe you are already at the addiction stage then ask help the people closest to you who you trust to take you to an expert to start counseling so you can get out of addiction, because I'm sure someone who has introduced you to gambling is just doing it accidentally without the intention of making you addicted.

Someone introducing us to gambling may be unintentional, But there are still many cases where they are taking advantage of us. They introduce us to gambling so that they can get referral bonuses. This is deplorable.
But in the end, the fault is still ours. Our money and the right to decide still belong to us. If we are addicted, it is because we cannot control ourselves. What we need to do now is to find a way to escape addiction. Asking the closest person to help us is a perfect way because people with an addiction will not be able to escape their gambling addiction on their own.
35  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling all about luck? on: December 10, 2023, 01:27:39 PM
Agree that the skill factor is also crucial in gambling, but luck will be the factor that determines winning and losing more. Even if you have a lot of sports knowledge, know that that team has many good players, and their winning rate is higher. But the truth is that it is difficult for them to win that match with a big score. Because good players also need luck, not just skills. You will even lose more money if you choose that team because the team that is rated better must accept the weaker team.
If you use skill to bet that a team wins, I think you will almost always be the winner in sports betting?
But when it comes to gambling, , the ratio at which luck and skill plays varies in both Sportbetting and Casino games, because just as 60% luck and 40% skill is needed for anybody to be successful while playing a "Casino game", when it comes to "Sportbetting game", the reverse is the case, as for he/she to be successful, he/she is expected to have a least 60% skill and 40% luck.

As knowledge is that which will give you an update about the current stand/performance of a football, basketball or baseball team, to analyze which team likely to be weaker or stronger.

Well, this ratio I don't think is reasonable,
For me, it would be 80% luck and 20% skill for casino games. As for sports betting, it's 60% luck and 40% skill. If, according to the ratio you give, people with good skills will always have a high winning rate. Actually, I have never seen anyone who can use skill to win a lot in sports gambling. Because the bookmaker always gives equal betting odds for the two teams. It will be difficult for us to use our skills to place bets. Only with a lot of luck can you win.
36  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling all about luck? on: December 07, 2023, 12:22:46 PM
So you mean gambling is completely luck based and doesn't require much skill? I like to bet more on sports then here my luck will help me win the bet or my skill will help me win. I think your winnings depend a lot on your skill in sports betting. If I don't have skills then I will pick my team and consider which player will do better or which team will win by scoring more goals. The way I bet on sports I feel like I need more skill in betting than luck. There are some casinos that may be completely luck based, but I don't want to risk money like this by relying solely on luck, I'll focus on my own skill and then rely on luck.

37  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I could have won bigger. on: December 07, 2023, 10:43:53 AM
I was able to win big. My account was multiplied by 3. Is that big enough? Actually, my greed has awakened. I continue to bet. And I lost all my winnings and initial capital.

I honestly don't know how much money is enough and big for a gambler, so I learned my lesson. I need to set a goal if that day I x2 assets. I won, and the amount was large enough for the capital I spent, so I stopped playing. Don't be too greedy to lose all your initial capital. It will be impossible to be continuously lucky in gambling.
38  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling sites and current transactions fee on: December 07, 2023, 10:30:53 AM
Now the gambling site was in the trouble because of the high transaction fee by the exchanges like the Binance. It was unacceptable one for the gambler to pay 26 dollars to withdraw funds from the Binance.Being a gambler,my opinion is to hold till the money in the exchange itself.Surely we get the profit from the gambling site,if we follow some techniques in the gambling site. But my point is why we need to pay the exchange fee of 26 dollars for the single transaction.

My decision may be seems revolutionary one,but the fact is the same transaction fee will be reduced when the market back to the bear standard. The bull run give huge dollars to the trader who hold from the 31k market price of the bitcoin.I had some arguments with my friends with whom we meet on every weekend. They also had the opinion of hold their money in the exchange till the market fee back to the normal one.So what your standard for the current transaction fee of bitcoin.

At first, I also traded on Binance and saw they offered free transactions. But the truth is that when I traded, I lost a fee. Did they deceive the players?
Bear season does not reduce transaction fees. Only the net profit for players makes them forget about the costs they have to pay to the exchange. I believe that in the coming time, many more exchanges will be born. They will continuously compete with each other to win the hearts of customers. The beneficiaries are probably the customers, who will have to reduce transaction fees to keep their customers.
39  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Behavioral Change!!! on: December 07, 2023, 08:36:00 AM
Does any of feel behavioral change in you based on the win/loss in gambling. Myself had experienced it, and personally I used to be happy and I used to be polite with my family members and kid whenever I am on profit. On the day of losing it changes exactly in the opposite way, even for simple things I get much anger. Particularly while giving food to kid patience is must. On winning days I let him take his own time and eat. On the losing days I used to shout at him. I'm addicted, and I want fellow gamblers to make a self analysis at regular interval and be on the safer side.
Money is powerful but I must say that this behavioural change doesn't happen to me in gambling, and I believe the reason is that I do not have so much trust in gambling, and hence the need that my mind is not so attached to it as I do not view it as a means at which I will be rich in life. This alone is helping me not to be emotional in gambling, everyone can try it too. But I feel this way so much in trading. I feel the joy and excitement in me when I win or in a winning position, but the opposite goes to when I am losing. Perhaps, it could be for the fact that I am used to trading far more than gambling which makes me feel less of such in gambling, as trading is all that I have that feeling and attachment to when it comes to passive income.

Besides, let me advice you just the way I do. I never let my negative emotions show around the people I love. My wife and children deserve the best of me all the time, so I always hide it when I feel bad and it has been part of me as no one would even know how I feel unless I tell them. This is far more reasonable than passing aggression on them for something they know nothing of.

It might be difficult at first but with a very strong mind, you will realize you don't act based on emotion any longer if you wish to change.

It is difficult for a person not to change their behavior when winning/losing in gambling. Unless the amount of money you lose is small or the amount of money you are willing to lose. Is that amount all the money you saved? You cannot avoid changing your behavior with family members.
I also went through those days. What I could do was limit them from bothering me, and I would find somewhere to improve my mood gradually. I avoided it by saying I was busy with work. And when I won, I couldn't help but feel happy with my family. I hope my family and children will understand me about this.

He's been away from the pitch for quite a while now. It's time for him to get back to playing football. There's still a lot he can bring to the game, and with Newcastle's solid defense, he'd be a great addition. It seems like a smart move, and Newcastle seems like the perfect place for him. They'll be getting a skilled goalkeeper with plenty of Premier League experience. It's a fantastic opportunity for him.

If Newcastle United manages to sign De Gea, they'd be very lucky. He's been patiently waiting for Man United to call him back. Hopefully, he'll be back in the EPL with Newcastle soon.
Newcastle will be able to have a defense that is really difficult to penetrate if they can bring De Gea to play with them. Especially since De Gea age is not that old because he is only 33 years old so the quality of his performance is guaranteed not to decline significantly.
He previously played well with Manchester United but because Tan Hag did not renew his contract, De Gea had to leave. He is legend for Manchester United because he has defended Manchester United for 12 years and has achieved many saves for Manchester United.

Previously there were several rumors circulating about team that was going to bring in De Gea but failed, and it was even reported that Manchester United had called in De Gea again because Onana was not performing well but that also failed.
Now Newcastle is being linked with De Gea and we hope that this can happen where De Gea can appear to defend the team that trusts him to be able to strengthen the squad in the Premier League.

Their Nick Pope suffered a shoulder injury in the previous 1-0 win. It is a recurrence of a shoulder injury and is expected to cause Pope to have surgery and be out of action for four months. De Gea is still a free agent after leaving MU. De Gea is ready to join Newcastle if he receives a reasonable offer. But the Premier League rules also clearly state that teams are not allowed to make changes to the squad list during the tournament without permission from the organizers.
However, Newcastle still has three goalkeepers: Martin Dubravka, Loris Karius, and Mark Gillespie. Coach Eddie Howe is supporting the plan to use Martin Dubravka. In the upcoming winter transfer window, they have the right to recruit De Gea.
