I would expect ETH to reach at least $3,000 by the end of 2018. $10,000 in 5 years

I would choose monero. However, XSPEC is looking quite nice, not only as an investment option but as security and anonymity.

At least I was able to buy from the dip. But you are right this FUD crap is out of hand

I have been following the price of BTC and alts and the correlation they have with each other. I am sure you know if BTC rises, alts go down (BTC not USD). If BTC goes down alts also go down (both BTC and USD). However in small instances when BTC is "stable" (around $1,000 USD variation) then alts go up in both USD and BTC prices. I dont care about USD price but I want to increase my BTC amount.
My question: Should I sell my XRP and LTC (and in general sell alts when for a week the price of them have gone up more than 50% vs BTC). and then buy them back once the price lowers vs BTC. Or is it better to hold the alts and not risk another jump in price?
Just as extra info, I only buy top 20 alts.

Following Tony Robbins advice in investment: If you compare 3 people, one who waits for the best moment after a dip, one who invest badly and buys during a peak before a drop, and one who just randomly enters the market. In order, the best performer is the randomly entering the market. Second, is the one who invested badly. Last one, the one who waited. Of course, this is for longer periods of time and not day trading.

Safer bet: Just hold and watch it grow. Or a more active approach, wait for alt-coins to stop pumping, and after a correction buy 2 or 3 from the top 15. Avoid bitconnect, BTG, and be cautious of Bcash pumps.

It is hard to predict what will happen to bitcoin. But a a deflationary currency and more and more real world applications it is a good and sound investment.

I still dont get why the call BTC a ponzi or a pyramid scheme. If it was a pyramid you would need to "recruit" your friends, or things like that. And a ponzi scheme will see BTC paying dividends or returns to initial investors. The lack of knowledge is the biggest enemy, they blindly follow media and dont do their own research. I really like blockchain technology and what can bring to financial securities. As a real use, I use it all the time to send money to my country without high fees (even higher than BTC miners fees)

The increment of market cap to half a trillion in such a short time will contribute to a big FOMO. I think we will see a huge increment from now until a month after NASDAQ list BTC. Then there will be a correction, most likely by November 2018. For sure 2018 will be a great year for BTC and alts.

It has to do with how much risk you can take. If you use bitcoin as a quick investment tool, you will be happy with a 10-20% increase in the short term. Some hold for longer periods as they believe more in BTC and the possible gains in the futures. In my case I believe in BTC and what it will offer, also right now I already use it as a tool to send money to my country and to prevent fiat inflation over time.

I would stick with coins that hold at least 0.5-1% market cap. Then do your research on a coin that you think will be needed in the future. Think of liquidity, technology and popularity.

I would really suggest everyone to read Tony Robbins' book: Unshakable, Your financial Freedom. It helps you on how to deal with a bear market and how to take advantage of it.
Another tip for holders (not as important for day traders): Do not look at BTC and alts prices everyday, just check every week. If you see how prices changed from a week ago everything is green. People tend to freak out with ups and downs, but at the end everything keeps going up. There could be (and most likely will be) bigger corrections. However, if you believe in BTC and/or alts you are buying you know they will go up over time.

For sure Bitcoin gold, I even see it as a scam. Bitcoin cash, it has been manipulated more than once. Finally, Cardano but only because went too high too fast and I am completely ignorant about it (Maybe will buy later if price corrects and I read more about the coin).

is there a way to know the development or news of a specific coin. Many times if I follow a coin their twitter or other media is usually a promotion of the coin and not news on development status.

I dont think it will reach $1000 by January. However, with the current market cap growth I truly believe all top 10 alt-coins will reach 2x their value during 2018

Is there a website or place where I can check the returns per month? I am interested in the returns but is hard to keep track in this post
