22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: new website on: October 30, 2017, 05:26:27 PM
IDK if i am posting in the right place. I just wanted to warn everyone about coinquester.com. Seems like a good idea. But when you try to go to there web site, it trys to install JS:Miner-C. Please avoid this web site. If i posted in the wrong place im sorry. Still a newb=)
This is the section for posting about intentional mining I believe,  not for alerting the community about javascript miners in websites.  Still,  thanks for letting us know!  (Also,  I doubt that's a big threat,  as it will probably stop mining after the page closes.)
23  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: This feasible? Linux live USB Ubuntu + External HD for safe wallet storage. on: October 30, 2017, 05:20:05 PM
I think I've got this right, just want to make sure with you guys who are more experienced with Linux (Ive never used it). So my plan is to have a USB stick with linux (Ubuntu) on, I will then load bitcoin-qt onto it and only that and have the blocks/wallet on the external HD. I would use Duel boot and have it partition my windows HD but my bios is a bit temperamental and occasionally tries to load drives which aren't there, so dont want to mess with it anymore than I need.
In my opinion this setup would be secure against most every *online* attack.  However,  if someone were to actually go to where such a contraption would be stored and steal it (which probably wouldn't happen,  but still xD) then you should make sure to be using a secure password or two factor and all to protect it.  Also,  you should store a backup on another device such as a usb stick or sd card to prevent hardware failure.
24  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Why does this tx not get confirmed on: October 30, 2017, 05:13:00 PM
Hi
Does someone have an idea why this tx does not get confirmed?

3df93a8fa476daf69c56ac8b6c5185a149d528cf0fb512dbc068ad06fd699372

I do not see what is wrong with it. There is 1$ fee attached to it.

Greets
Go to the services section and use a free/cheap transaction accelerator,  this should hopefully solve your issues with this transaction not wanting to confirm due to low fees compared to average.
25  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What to do with the people who don't like Bitcoin? on: October 30, 2017, 05:06:12 PM
What would you do when you're talking to someone but then he suddenly talks about his hatred on Bitcoin, what would you react to it?

I've never actually experienced anything like this before, I just want to be prepared when it happened to me.
While this has never happened to me-I would tell them about bitcoin as they likely have bad information on the subject.  I would explain how it's a valuable asset like gold and how I believe that it will go far up in value in the future.  Both are true,  and I would answer any questions to the best of my ability as well.
26  Economy / Services / Re: (Free) Newbie Signature on: October 30, 2017, 05:00:05 PM
Hey guys,  I'm a new member,  but I want to help people.  I've just learned about signature campaigns and I would be willing to help someone out if they want to use my signature for their benefit.  I will be doing my own research before putting you in my signature so if you're a scammer don't bother.  1st legit person to reply with a signature for me to use within reason will get my signature until this account is able to get into a paid signature campaign.  =)

Good effort to reach out to the community. Though an one liner without any link, but still it can help someone promoting something without any budget. But you need to reply more so that the message reaches as much as posts as possible. Good gesture, keep it up, will pay you back one day.
Thanks for the kind words!  I will be replying to a lot of topics in the near future and hopefully doing a good job at it.  Glad to be here!  Smiley

28  Economy / Services / Re: ios emulator on: October 30, 2017, 04:45:42 PM
I need to get an app from ios (belinked) on my windows 10 laptop or android device
if you can tell me which free app does this or how i could do this and can proof this (take a picture of the emulator while on belinked) I'll send you 0.001 btc
Ios on windows is not possible that I know of. Yes,  it stinks,  but Apple protected their code well and only allows the use of it on Ios devices.

30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: BTC unconfirmed on: October 30, 2017, 04:24:04 PM
So basically i sold someone Riot points for BTC and i didnt give him the riot points yet because it still has 0 confirms but its been like 30+ hours and he keeps calling me a scammer is he trying to do a double spend or something heres the transaction.
https://blockchain.info/tx/cf9c6581f7fca16241d2ee18cb797b723339cb24a75a822f4004e65f94e47f06
I'm not sure if it's a double spend,  but tell him to increase the fee if possible by right clicking the transaction on his wallet and pressing increase fee.
He told me hes using blockchain.info and that wont work for him, Should i just sell to someone else because i don't think this transaction will go through its already been more than a day and i don't have time to really wait.
Sadly,  you would be a scammer to sell to someone else unless you have multiple as its likely that this transaction will go through.  It's just a matter of when,  and it may be a good while.  The good news is that in the time it's taken me to type this,  it may have confirmed on its own.

I doubt it will confirm any time soon just because of my luck but if it dont confirm within 2 days more what do i do i can't just be sitting here waiting for this

Double spent transactions will be tagged as "Double spent" like this x spent the same outputs as y something from block explorers so you can easily identify it and as you can see its not. The miner fee included is just too low making the transaction stucked so honestly he doesn't have the right to call you a scammer as he included a low fee moreover unconfirmed transactions can't be trusted so you have every reason not to send the riot points until confirmation comes.

With that fee i doubt it will ever get confirmed so I quequed your transaction on antpool. It should be confirmed within a few hours.
Woah,  I totally forgot about transaction accelerators,  thanks for helping them out! =)

32  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum Withdrawel Google Authenticator Problem on: October 30, 2017, 04:02:41 PM
I am attempting to withdraw BTC from Electrum. The problem is when I try it asks for my google authenticator code. I do not have this. I have my seed but I mustn't have scanned the QR code after creating the seed.

How do I bring up this QR code to set up google authenticator for this transaction?

It isn't obvious from the interface what to do and information online is sparse.

Thanks in advance.
Download a qr scanner on your phone and scan it.

34  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: good mining days gone on: October 30, 2017, 03:33:10 PM
Gone are the good days of mining 10 USD with two Rx 480.  I have decided to sell them , instead of upgrading . I don't think enough money is pouring in again in this vast ocean of crypto
Good choice,  sadly bitcoin mining is no longer very profitable,  which honestly really stinks for the miners amount us. Xmr is decent,  but it's still not that profitable.

Yes,  what he said.  If he's using electrum it will work to increase the fee and the transaction will then go through.
