21  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTCUSA.com is live!! 🔥 plz rate it from 1-10 🙏 on: May 02, 2023, 08:21:54 PM
Thanks for all the feedback & for the kind words! I am happy that most people rate it at '7'!  Smiley

I will work on few things from the suggestions, mainly:

1) improve SEO & ranking.
2) invite famous authors to write articles 'exclusively' for the site! and maybe reward them in someway, maybe i will leave this to another thread.

few were asking how much i got the domain for, it was an expired auction on namesilo got it for ~$600 with the renewal, i am using namecheap hosting which is a great value for the money. i know the name 'BTCUSA.com sounds more like an exchange, but as i have stated earlier starting an exchange is by far bigger than me  Grin hence why i tuned it into a crypto news website.

if anyone got a private suggestion/request/enquire please email me at: hello@btcusa.com

Thanks again for the kind words,

Btcusa.com could well serve as an exchange platform for USA citizens, we all know that USA is a very strict country in terms of regulations and all that, most especially for cryptocurrencies, but if coinbase can do it, plus a host of others including binance.us, then you can too, and if you are able to pull this off, trust me, btcusa.com could really become a big crypto currency exchange, one that could compete with other big shots in the industry, no doubt, this is an investment that would require alot of money, but trust me, it will be worth it...
This is what I think, what ever your decision is by the end of the day, good luck to you friend.

What a great domain name, SCORE! I think you could have a bright future here with this like a 3 month vacations all expenses paid on a tropical island kind of pay check you feel me? I'll tell you a funny story, a co worker of mine also spent some time in the domain business. He found a domain called gotahoe.com and was trying to buy it on the phone with the guy getting the story of how he acquired this domain. It turns out that he was the coach for a team in Tahoe and he meant it to be the landing page for "Go Tahoe!" like go team but with the team name hahahahaha Not for getting any hoes, not even getting one hoe hehe. Anyways it just cracked me up so I thought I would share this here. Also bitcoin rules.

Thanks man!

wow! who would though gotahoe means go tahoe! haha

I agree, it's indeed worth more than just $600 & if i wanted to sell it fast i could easily auction it on a bigger marketplace like Sedo for instance. but i honestly feel for the first time in my domain experience that i want to develop a domain rather than just flip it for a quick buck, hence i listed it for 1 btc cause i want to take my time & most likely turn it into a business.

That's a good decision to create a website and accumulate backlinks so the content and the backlinks will add value to the domain, some of the parameters or criteria in selling and buying domains are content and backlinks, age of the domain is included.

Btcusa.com is good and the word btc and USA is very prominent it has a specific niche and a targeted audience.

Thanks! i will soon start working on the website!  Smiley

- Step-by-step guides on how to use some U.S based exchanges (Coinbase, Binance.us, etc.)
- Exchange/crypto services reviews.
- List of BTMs (Bitcoin ATMs) as well as how to buy and run one (costs, profit, etc.)
- Crypto-related laws and regulations
Almost these are the best solutions that you can use to take advantage of the domain, but there is a risk that none of the projects will succeed if you do not have sufficient knowledge of the American market. I think the best thing to do is to continue promoting the domain in the hope of finding a buyer who can appreciate its value, which seemed to me to be much higher than just $600.
I remember that an incident like this also occurred with one of the domains in the name of ethereum, which was acquired much earlier than the date of launching the Ethereum network that we know today. I remember that the domain is also for sale for an imaginary amount.

-snip-
I am leaning towards an idea that has always been at the back of my head, which is to create the next 'local bitcoin' specially that they closed their business. but the question here is:

Do people feel safe meeting potential traders in real life & make a trade? but this is where reviews comes handy to check how much is this seller/buyer is a trustworthy person.

I'm sure some people would love to do their trades face-to-face, but if that's the only payment method you're going to support, it's probably going to be a waste of time.

Thanks for your take! but may i ask why you think if i only allowed the 'face-to-face' trades it will be a waste of time? i am just trying to understand the market & try my best to avoid any potential failure before happening.

i think implementing only this option will make my development much easier & if i can do the marketing right it might see the light.

Hello again!

First of all, i really appreciate each & every advice! There are indeed unlimited options for btcusa.com & I am still navigating every possibility in order to make something great at the end of the day!

I am leaning towards an idea that has always been at the back of my head, which is to create the next 'local bitcoin' specially that they closed their business. but the question here is:

about making an exchange for the US, like coinbase or binance.us is a great idea but i have to say that i don't have that budget to start it since it requires a much bigger budget with alot of legal assistance, since the US is not really 'btc friendly'.probably making a dex for btc would be a good option here.

btw, here's a snapshot of the website 20 years ago showing what btc meant! it's really amazing how ONLY one party held the domain since it was registered in 1996 UNTIL today without dropping! this in domain world adds alot of value to the domain, as many internet enthusiast would love collecting a piece of internet history, think of it as an 'antique'.

28  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / acquired btcusa.com registered 13yrs before bitcoin back in 1996! 🤯🤯🤯 on: April 26, 2023, 04:48:25 PM
Hello,

Let me introduce myself briefly. I have been in domain business for as long as i remember, where i buy & sell domains & websites. A programmer too, the online world led me to bitcoin back in 2016

Few days ago i came across an expired auction for btcusa.com but what caught my eyes is the registration date which is March 1996 🤯 13 years before bitcoin

I went to archive.org and checked the website over the time machine & btc meant ‘behavior tech computer corp’ but we all know what btc means so i said to myself that i had to get it.

The auction went from $20 to about $600 where i was bidding against few people, i was willing to get it even if it got to 4 digit mark.

I am thinking about turning it to a business, hence i listed it for $30k ‘1 btc’ at Dan.com since i am in no hurry to sell.

Anyone got an idea if what i should do with btcusa.com?

Thanks in advance & have a great day!
