21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICOs for investment on: November 10, 2017, 02:43:50 PM
The trend with ICO's has changed a last couple of months:
- in the beginning of this year almost all the tokens went up in price
- but this autumn something's changed: we get token release and we see a huge drop in price.

For example I participated in PayPie, OmegaOne and AirToken this autumn - 1k in each.
At the moment I've lost about half of investment.
That sucks a little.

This is why I suggest using professional services from cryptofunds with good results. Just let the professionals do their job.
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How would you invest 10000$? on: November 10, 2017, 02:28:26 PM
I think that investment amount itself is not enough background data to make a right decision.

If it's your last money, or if you borrowed these 10k, I'd suggest you forget about investing it.

But if 10k is amount you can invest and ready to painlessly lose - I'd suggest to diversify your investment between a couple of popular strategies: "buy and hold top 10 coins" - 3k , mining (with this amount I mean a shared cloud mining like hashflare) - 3k, investment funds -3k and some aggressive risky strategies (like BitConnect) - 1k.

90% of your portfolio will be conservative (for cryptoworld at least), 10% will give you a chance to make a breakthtough.

You're never sure which tokens will skyrocket and which ones will totally devalue.
BUT here's a couple of suggestions:
1. Check all the info about founders, their background.
Check their LinkedIn.
How much experience do they have?
Do they look real?
Do they have real connections?
2. Read the white paper attentively.
Do they have a clear transparent plan?
Is their hardcap adequate to goal they've set?
Is decentralization and blockchain necessary to solve a problem they want to solve?

Daily I see ICO's which actually don't need any blockchain to solve their problem.

Answering all these questions will help you to understand whether guys want to change the world or grab the cash.

I just noticed that https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitconnect/ stopped using their own page when reporting market information about bitconnect. If you follow the link

   https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitconnect/

You will see that you are sent directly to bitconnect to gather the information, this just happened today.

I also don't see any redirects here.
Just a regular CoinMarketCap page with all the BCC charts.

Can someone evaluate ETHCONNECT. is it real. It is offereing bigger rewards than BTConnect. But it smells fishy to me

I believe its just an awaited  BitConnect's spinoff.

I think, developers' logic was like: "we may as well create bitconnect, but on ETH" and that's it.

If it successfully invites funds, this machine will start working just as productive as BCC does.

My suggestion is if you've got to rebalance your portfolio buying more aggressive assets - you can give this ECH a try.

Having a 100k+ cap in BCC lending I'm going to invest a little in ECH. If it fails - I won't regret, if it skyrockets, I get crazy profits. That's my logic.

BUT: sure, this may be a Ponzi BCC clone, so just calculate your risks as always.
26  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Strategy for a newbie in this time of uncertainty on: November 08, 2017, 03:44:02 PM
If you're interested in a long-term strategy, I'd suggest you a very simple conservative strategy:

1. Split your investment into top10 coins by market cap. You get lower risk and average profit.
2. Rebalance your portfolio once in a month.
3. Enjoy

1. You can install a bitcoin ticker in any browser.
Here's an example for chrome: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/btc-ticker/bmcdgjdhkiafkocajnobfhipmjolceeg?hl=en

2. You can just google btc price and it will show up

3. You can install a ticker to your smartphone

4. Just go to coinmarketcap, kraken, bitstamp, bitfinex or GDAX

Our brain loves tagging everything: "it's a scam", "ponzi", "legit" etc

These names are antipodes which simplify our lives by unloading our thought process.

Stereotyping decreases your chances to survive.

It's just like a discussion whether there's a life on nearby planets. Simple truth is we don't know.

And we don't know if BCC is scam. Guys, just be honest, we don't know what it is.

It's super important to establish your own opinion!

Otherwise you risk to become a victim of propaganda.

I understand the logic of its promoters. They earn referral bonus for this. I agree, it's not honest to give any guarantees or call it 100% legit, etc.
So you should take all those super optimistic reviews with a grain of salt.

But I don't understand all the haters:
For example, you think it's a scam. But why you're going to spam every forum and blog comment section with scam, ponzi warnings?
Sorry, but I don't believe in your altruism! This seems more like an attempt to justify your regrets that you did not invest. And profits of others drive you mad! Smiley

It's much smarter to say "I don't know what it is, but I believe that investing in BCC is risky".

30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did you guys read this story about a guy who lost $30K Bitcoin... on: November 07, 2017, 12:36:24 PM
It's just your responsibility to safely store all your credentials and never lose it.
It's a simple internet hygiene!

It makes me wonder: how many geeks had 1-10-100 BTC on their wallets back in 2010 and lost their passwords?
So basically there can be millions of $ that are lost forever!
31  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your biggest regret about bitcoin on: November 07, 2017, 12:25:56 PM
My biggest regret is that I was very serious to invest $100K in BTC in early 2013.

Its price was about 9 usd.

Today my BTC capitalization would grow to about 72M

I just found this investment too risky and invested in real estate and gold. This is a popular reason of my insomnia...
32  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Real estate for Bitcoins on: November 07, 2017, 12:19:35 PM
From the point of seller's view this idea has both its pros and cons.

Actually selling real estate for BTC is transmission from conservative investment to aggressive one.

Your property for $4M will probably cost the same price in 10 years.

But 555BTC can both cost $80M and zero.

Also I believe that selling properties for ETH is much more promising with its smart contracts.

Sure, low commissions are the greatest benefit!
33  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [HOW TO] Live tracking in excel on: November 06, 2017, 05:46:40 PM
any chance to do the same in Google Sheets?
Heard, they have request limitations - is there any way to do that?
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to identify contributors in an ICO in order to send them the tokens manually on: November 06, 2017, 05:37:45 PM
Tokens must be sent to the wallet from which you received ETH:

Contributor1 -> ETH -> Your ICO wallet
Your ICO wallet ->Tokens -> Contributor1

Contributor2 -> ETH -> Your ICO wallet
Your ICO wallet ->Tokens -> Contributor2

. . .

ContributorN -> ETH -> Your ICO wallet
Your ICO wallet ->Tokens -> ContributorN
