Order just changed to "In Progress" - Order 193XX

Edit: Will let you know when this "Way to late & expensive 9000 EUR KnC Crap Pile" is at my doorstep

Are KNC Titans shipping now ?

Apparently so according to a few people on the Kncminer forums.

Where do you read this? They should, but don't.

I also doubt it - got order 193xx (Bitpay) - nothing here - still paid or like they prefer to say "Payed".  Roll Eyes

Have them hosted a couple of units since the beginning of August - smooth so far, easy well designed frontend, regular payouts & updates, nice community.

Still, no proof of actually mining - only risk what you can loose

For all who are seeking refunds on Titans. Someone posted the original ToS and Product page from 28th March 2014 in the KnC forum.

I can not find "Non-refundable" anywhere. Maybe this a lead. Just wanted to drop this here:

Any thoughts on this?

Quote
He's right. Nowhere on the buying page does it say no refund.

http://web.archive.org/web/20140328222749/https://www.kncminer.com/categories/litecoin-mining-hardware

The Terms and Conditions when people bought the Titans does not say the Titans are non-refundable.

http://web.archive.org/web/20131230125306/https://www.kncminer.com/pages/TandC

Many bought the product thinking they could get a refund, but KnCminer reneged.

Also noteworthy is that their terms and conditions does not say the Purchaser _is_ a business or defines them as a business, they say the Purchaser/ Consumer _uses_ it for business, but not that they _are_ a business. Therefore, their contract is between consumer and kncminer or someone/a consumer who uses it for business and kncminer, but nowhere does it say their contract is between a business and kncminer.

Just ask their new investors, they would know that KnCMiner got themselves in legal and financial woes even if they can't see it.

Edit: The ToS are from Dez. Anyone has the ToS saved around End of March 2014?

I'm thinking, KNC will triple or even more over delivery hashing power again to us as a happy ending of their small miners, and also a happy starting of heir giant cloud datahall!

A lot of people were saying the same thing about the Neptune. Some idiots were using questionable math and  predicting that each Neptune was going to hash at 12-15THs, lol. And how did that work out for everyone?

For some reason I guess KNC maight change their mind at last moment to not over delivery Nepy's hashing power, actually, they can easily to achieve 8Th/s SHA256 hashing power on Nepy, but they might concerning the global growth of hashing power and do not want to be the first one who trigger miner nuclear war on bitcoin mining, but that's IMHO and I just guessing it and no confirmation source, so just treat this like a tale.

And that's different situation on Scrypt miners, due to compete company already announce  and have a call, so they should fought back for their reputation, this is also IMHO, and do not have confirmation source, so you could just treat it like a tale.

Vaultbreaker batch 1 owners already "hash" @zencloud with 750mhz (~0.4 BC/ day @zenpool rate) since last friday. So who cares about rep. anymore - scryptwar is lost anyway for KNC....

Edit: Just for the sake of completion. GAW/ Zencloud/ Zenpool may be a complete scam. Time will tell - since now their service works fine

will be there a continue? it seems an elaborated and good statistic

Hi Johny, this was an one time effort by me. A lot of work - feel free to continue Wink

Looking back on June diff. we were quite close!  Cool

In all this euphoria of those who have - finally - received their miners, I still want to point those who are still waiting for their refunds to another posting in the KnC-forum.

Many of those who asked for a refund received a response saying that they are very busy working on this and that the procedure is more complicated than we all would guess, however, without telling us what this complicated procedure is.

Now, that they are shipping out their hardware, the "excuse" by lie-bot "Kurt" sounds as follows:

Quote
We are currently in the production and shipping phase with the Neptune miners and our main priority and focus is on shipping the miners to customers as quickly as possible. Due to this extremely busy period the processing of refunds will be taking longer.

So he basically says that the bookkeeper is shipping or assembling Neptunes? Or that sending out Neptunes is a lot of work for the bookkeeper? That is, IMHO, pure crap.

On the other hand, it is a perfect evidence that KnC is withholding the funds on purpose and not because they are overloaded with work. No bookkeeper in a multi-million-operation would be overloaded by work because 500 parcels are sent out.

So now it isn't a question anymore if it is a B2B-deal or not. It is clear that KnC is fraudulent. So the more people file a legal complaint, the more likely it is that all those who may have damaged Neptunes or Neptunes which will not work properly (including possible hazard) can also file a lawsuit for fraud.

I really really strongly encourage all who are waiting for refunds to send a letter to the police in Sweden. Copy the legal department of the Swedish embassy in your country.

Without knowing the facts - their refund behaviour is 99% due to liquidity issues - there are strong indications for this - they operate hand-to-mouth, they refund what their datacenter is producing.

I got refunded several times in the past by KnC without any issues - all guys still waiting can only hope their datacenter is generating enough profit to clear the backlog soon

Final Words and Closing

Everybody, this is my last update on this thread. I am quite bound in different other tasks and will not have the time to observe, analyze and comment all current trends in detail anymore. This is unfortunate but sloppy analysis due to time pressure is below my standards, so I better quit to not give any false predictions  - Thank you everybody for your inputs and useful hints. Feel free to continue the thread or overtake.

This said, it doesnt mean I completely abandon our forecast of ~95 PH by end of June 2014. In contrary, I think it is still very viable even without looking forward on the last three months of the observed timeframe.

Why? Our last datapoint is from Feb 05 2014 with a hashrate of 18.8 PH and last jump is from Apr 05 2014 with 43.8 PH which means 2 month account for roughly 25 PH. In our last forecast update we predicted 10-15 PH per month until July. Looking on the last two months isolated our prediction was quite accurate until now and I dont see any game changing reasons.

Right now we have different trends that slow down and reduce the PHs added (low BC price, MTGox damage, massive delays of basically all major vendors, rising energy expenses), but also compensating effects which speed up the growth (mainly new vendors popping up every day, lower hardware prices, massive datacenters etc...). This all evens out somehow and adds up to something between 10-15 PH per month for the next 3 months.

With big caution - final prediction: 90-100 PH by end of June 2014.

Cheers & I am out Wink

A competitor for Litecoin rigs, Alpha-t.net, has 25Mh at <=300 watts. I'd say if the Titan was a 20nm rig it would be around 800-900. Each 25Mh unit was priced at 8900ish, with a June/July shipping date.

I also don't think they're trying to get rid of Neptune preorders. If they did, they wouldn't reoffer them on their website (as of this writing, 4 were in stock)

The announcement definitely got the other companies riled up. I'm sure similar announcements from Bitmain and other manufacturers get KnC worked up too.

Quote
We would like to assure you we are very aware of our competitors hash rates and pricing and intend to match them, we started development in May 2013 and are on schedule to ship in July giving us the clear lead. During development we decided to make our units larger and upgradable so we could accommodate increased hash rates with ease, we gave ourselves this leeway for a variety of reasons. And the announcement of Scrypt miners from competitors was of course one such reason that we anticipated and planned for. A full announcement with details on our new batch 1 hash rates will be released very soon!

Good hints

...
Seems they want to get rid of their Neptune liability fast  Tongue
lol, bingo.
In February, they start offering cloud hashing instead of Neptune. Suddenly a few weeks ago they stop selling their refunded Neptune units. And now are offering customers easy switch to a completely different product. Read into that what you will  Tongue

That is the beauty of the game - you never know what will happen  Cheesy

Edit: Next step most likely is: Combine an existing Neptune and Titan order for a dual Scrypt/ SHA 10.000 kW Supernova Miner delivery Q1-Q4 2015  Tongue

Just to let people know - I converted a Neptune to a Titan. They do it 1:1 in like 5 minutes.

Seems they want to get rid of their Neptune liability fast  Tongue

did you ask them if Titan refunds would be offered ?

Nope - did not ask but should be clarified.  KnC has earned my trust. Time will tell whether this is justified or not

We are now in the foundry stage and as soon as the chips arrive we will let you all know. More info about the tape out is available here.

Thanks

What does Foundry stage mean? I wish they would update on power specs, I have a lot of Neptunes coming my way and really want to begin ordering in PSUs

PSU's are so hard to acquire right now - ... sold out or overpriced everywhere - you have a point here
