21  Other / Meta / Re: Do Banned users stand a chance of been reconsidered or been appealed for on: May 13, 2021, 05:10:28 AM
Most people knows that they are doing plagiarism for the financial benefits to get from it and some people intentionally copy a part of an article and leave the link at the end to gather some merits so they can hide under the rules while still have more chances to grow up their account these things are unfair though. But mods will take a look at the user before implying a permanent ban, if they are real contributors then they will be given signature ban for a while.

There are rumors that the IPL 2022 will be featuring 10 teams. The BCCI is in desperate need of cash, as the cancellation of IPL 2021 has left them with a hole of ₹25 billion. The addition of two teams should bring enough money to the board, to neutralize any losses from this year. ~
Maybe this is going to be true, not a rumors. I have read few many news/articles about it. BCCI have taken this decision in one of their recent meeting. And they going to sanctioned the new team through tender. So we can't surely guess the new team names. Looks like BCCI going to have nice profit by arranging this method of choosing new teams.
Yes, it's likely to happen but what states are going to be included? Does anyone have an idea about it?

If I am not wrong once IPL hosted with 9 teams which includes Kerala but they never appeared anymore.
23  Economy / Economics / Re: Web traffic to crypto exchanges in April 2021. on: May 12, 2021, 07:37:28 PM
Binance is standing at the top with no real competition in the crypto exchange industry even though they deserves the place, its like the monopoly of Binance started to influence the crypto market highly compared to the previous years. Bull trend is likely to stay here for more longer than I expected so I am going to Hold few assets until we see a sign of bears.
24  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 12, 2021, 05:23:51 PM
Dhoni may be a better captain when compared to Kohli, but I don't think that he is among the best. During the last year's IPL, he insisted on including players such as Kedar Jadhav in the squad, which resulted in many losses for the CSK, in matches which they could have otherwise won easily. He was one of the best 5 years back, but not now.
MSD not among the best? Lol. This guy smartly transformed the Cricket structure in India through his tactical brilliance. He was already proclaimed as a legend in the Cricketing world long back when India won the World Cup.

No captain is perfect. He is human. Their performance last year was abysmal indeed, but look how they bounced back this year. The CSK management could have replaced like him like what SRH did to Warner, but they chose to trust him and look what happened.

Check my post again. I was saying that he was one of the best five years back. But nowadays, his tactics are not that good. If he was that good, then why CSK was in such pathetic position during last year's IPL? And let's not forget the fact that Dhoni was directly responsible for some of CSK's losses last year. In many of the matches where CSK was chasing the targets, the combination of Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav slowed down the chase and made sure that CSK loses the match.
He accepted that, they don't have the right combination of players and their early losses in the league put their confidence was low, I agree that kedhar Jadhav was given to much chances but don't forget that he won a trophy for CSK one time which is why MSD believed him. But at the end of 2020 league matches they found a diamond called Ruturaj Gaikwod who gave the best partnership with destructive Faf.
25  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: QR codes and wallet public address on: May 12, 2021, 07:13:46 AM
Thanks for those helpful answers. Unfortunately, Blockchair could not read my qr code via the inbuilt cam. Are there any other site where I can scan the code via the cam to check the balance?
Web cams even on the lastest laptops are not going to read those qr codes, either you need to buy an external hd webcam which may cost you $100 to huge price tags...

On the other side you can be a smartphone for less than $100 which is having 10 times better camera quality than a normal webcam.
26  Economy / Gambling / Re: bustadice – Next Generation Dice on: May 12, 2021, 04:52:12 AM
The good news is that they just announced the termination of the campaign and with some big changes to come, of course, this new feature will be very much awaited if bustadice lovers.
I hope this thread will not die after the campaign ends and that there will still be more useful discussions where many people will find out more about what they do not already know.
-snip-
Which "new features" are you talking about? As far as I know devans didn't announce any ... Personally, I also think that Bustadice doesn't need any new features at all. The platform is clearly aimed at heavy players who also like to play script-based and less at the kind of players who log in quickly to throw 1-2$ into slots.

Yes, its clean and sleek so no need for any kind of update, the only update was for the bankroll investors which already rolled out into the site.

And this thread never bumped and fell into spam discussions like few other ANN threads facing so the campaign posters did their job good and feeling good to be a part of it.

27  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Riddles and Brain-Teasers for Bitcointalk Members (Newbies – Members) on: May 11, 2021, 06:46:59 PM
Riddle #6

Brian is a regular bitcoin user. He is often paid in crypto for the services he offers and is happy when he sees his wealth increase. Just like many other people, his wallet of choice is the user-friendly and straightforward Electrum client

One day as he was going over all the received transactions for that week, he noticed that an unknown address sent him around 600 satoshis two days ago. He knows that the sending address doesn't belong to any of his friends or clients, and the received amount is too small for a service that he offers.

Brians starts doing some research, and he learns about dust attacks and their dangers. He doesn't want anyone to infringe on his privacy or realise how much bitcoin he owns, and he needs to find a way to deal with this dust attack.

Why was that small amount of bitcoin sent to him, and what can he do to ensure he never spends those coins?
I exactly know what to do but maybe I am not that good at a complete explanation, okay I will try it.

Brian needs to ensure that the received address should not link to all the addresses in his wallet because the reason why dust attack happens just to find the identity of an individual by linking the addresses together via exchange or any other source they have but anyway dust attack is only harmful for our privacy but it not going to give access of our funds to the hackers/scammers.

Electrum allows the UTXO freezing option which means we can opt for an input to be nonspendable so the funds will never move out of that address so it will not link to any other addresses of his wallet.

To freeze an address : View ==> show coins ==> addresses ==> select the address which received the dust amount ==> freeze
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it really that hard to make ethereum faster and cheaper? on: May 11, 2021, 04:35:26 PM
Ethereum is having scalability issue that is the reason the fee went to high when a lot of microtransactions causing the prices to spike up, but ethereum developers are trying to find the solution so they are moving to PoS algorithm so they can avoid the spam projects from the main transaction chain which will make the fee to be lot cheaper. The only concern is the time taken for the complete roll over of ETH2.0 still needs too much time.
29  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Credit card blocked - has anyone else had this? on: May 11, 2021, 01:30:39 PM
Hey,

So I started buying bitcoin recently, using a mastercard for purchases. The first couple of times it worked fine, but I tried a couple times this week, both times my card got blocked and I had to call the card company to unblock it. I asked them to put a note on my account so this wouldn't happen in future, but they replied that their company doesn't allow the purchase of cryptocurrencies using their services.

Is this a common policy with credit card companies? I live in Canada, and I get the impression things are a bit behind here regarding bitcoin.

My other option is buying using bank transfer, but I'm wary of that (mostly because of the 2-3 day wait).
The Canadian government allows their citizen to use cryptocurrencies for investing, trading and whatever thing which are legal but still some banks are not allowing which are their personal policies,

You have two choices either choose another bank which allows their customers using their cards no matter it is master or visa. Or go for the LBC or Pax which has KYC requirements or Localcryptos which doesn't have mandatory KYC requirements.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is there a way to buy XRP? If you're in the US? on: May 11, 2021, 04:41:48 AM
Because I'm based in the US I cannot buy XRP on Binance. When I activate my VPN with a IP address from France it appears I can buy it. I have not gone through the verification process with Binance because of course I don't have a French ID.
I think you should stop that. Lots of users account were blocked due to violating this VPN rule and their assets were frozen. Instead of risking your money like this, you should do P2P instead.

What does P2P mean and is there a thread on these forums that will detail how it works?

Peer to peer. It's just a way you can buy XRP or any other digital assets using bank account you have, paypal or credit card. Try the Binance p2p, I believe there are more users using it there. I haven't tried p2p in binance but they are offering the services where users are buying and selling.

This is the page https://p2p.binance.com/en Check your local currency.
Binance.com is not available for US customer so using Binance p2p is also not possible and you can't find any easy way to trade XRP when you are from US since XRP was banned by SEC.

P2P is actually trading with someone you know where no exchange or anything involves but people may accept BTC more than USD so OP habe to by BTC first before proceeding further.

Dhoni may be a better captain when compared to Kohli, but I don't think that he is among the best.
Anyone who understands and watches cricket for multiple decades will tell you that MS Dhoni is one of the best captains in the history of cricket. I would rank Clive Lloyd and Steve Waugh above anyone else because the way in which they dominated world cricket under their captaincy and under them they refuse to loose and that was their dominance. Under MS Dhoni India learned to win series abroad and dominate oppositions with tactical moves which even surprises the opposition and i would rank him along with Ricky Ponting and Hansie Cronje.

If you think that he is not the best in the history of world cricket, i would like to hear about your list whom you think are better than him.
I won't compare MSD with any other captains to be honest because the conditions were not same when we are talking about captaining at different time periods but I would say MSD is one among the top 5 of all the great/best captains in cricket history. And he did managed to win all the 3 trophies of ICC who never did before but the main thing about MSD is the players were not the world's best players when he did that which is the reason why we call MSD is a tactician.

Virat is having great records too as captain for team India but he is completely different from MSD and he is kind of aggressive while MSD wants to win the matches at the last ball. Cheesy

BCCI also have almost 1.5ish month window for the IPL after the WTC finals, if they are seriously thinking about it. After that India touring England (Against England) in Aug for month or so, then comes the T-20 WC. So BCCI got July if PCL takes the May-June or Aug-Sept window.
So India will be flying to England to play the WTC against New Zealand and that is scheduled on June 18 and then there is a window till the next tournament which is the tour of England and it starts from August 04 and ends in September 10 and then the T20 World cup will start and there should be enough time for the players to rest as well if not they will burn themselves out.
Considering BCCI not scheduling any dead bilateral series with Sri lanka or something. BCCI does have a habit of squeezing every bit from the national team that's why every year their schedule is jam packed and tiring so fingers crossed.
Players are ready too since Indian cricket is become more competitive than any other cricket boards due to lot of young and new talents so the existing players want to remains in the team by showing something related to their skills on the ground, even accepting everything that BCCI orders can be one on it. But I guess the chance of IPL in 2021 is really slim now probably it may resume in Jan 2022 if there is no covid cases by that time.
33  Economy / Economics / Re: Are you aware of Shrinkflation? on: May 09, 2021, 07:40:44 AM
Its happening all the time but now the changes are happening in real quick time and its something to play with the human psychology because when a brand increase the price for certain products it will decrease the number of people who are buying it so their strategy is to keep the price same as before while offering the kesser quantity so they can keep making profits and they will boost their products sales with new advertisements to hide the changes in quantity.
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is there a way to buy XRP? If you're in the US? on: May 09, 2021, 04:57:52 AM
I have searched for all the exchanges too, its not possible to buy XRP directly with your bank payments from US but you can buy Bitcoin using banks then use it to buy XRP on decentralized exchanges or even on the centralized exchanges where KYC is not mandatory with the use if VPN but still its risky though because many exchanges will ask you to submit KYC even when its not mandatory.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance CEO CZ Defends Binance Smart Chain's Ethereum Copycats on: May 09, 2021, 03:08:48 AM
Almost every crypto project is a clone of bitcoin but still, there are thousands of projects are alive at the moment and there is a strong reason for the fall of ethereum and rise of BSC while ethereum is not dead, its slightly slowish compared to how it is supposed to be with the bitcoin's market movement but surprisingly ethereum is reaching $4K which is unexpected when the price of transactions are still insane.
36  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Missing coins on Tradingview on: May 09, 2021, 02:09:52 AM

Websites have their own criteria to list the digital assets so the coin you are looking for may not fulfilled that is why it is not listed there but as far as I can see it is listed on Coinmarketcap so if you are just looking for the price chart then you can use it : https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/mist/
37  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How much can you predict this sh*t?! Or is it pure gamble? on: May 08, 2021, 07:16:55 PM
Technical analysis based on lot of indicators may give an idea about the future price movements but there is no one can predict it accurately if they did it then they are just lucky though. Trading is purely speculation so its not completely a gamble but kind of thing so you need luck and skills to be successful here.

Also, make use of the news sources and whale indicators.
38  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 08, 2021, 05:50:20 PM
PCB also considering hosting remaining PSL games in UAE. They got something 20ish games left in the tourney. Cricket fans are seriously hungry for the some sort of T-20 entertainment so hope its gets the green light asap.
That is the only solution right now and will there be a clash between PSL and IPL if they both plan at the same time to resume the tournament  Grin.
BCCI may not resume the tournament for the next few months because they are getting ready for the test championship which is going to happen in June. Meanwhile PCB have enough time to schedule their matches in the next few months.
39  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin vs Agriculture on: May 08, 2021, 03:35:49 PM
Bitcoin is a peer to peer electronics cash system while Agriculture is the production of crops and rearing of animals for man's use. I am a farm who is into subsistence and plantation farming in my country, but i find it difficult to use bitcoin to improve my farm the way others business men use bitcoin to improve their investment.how can i use bitcoin to improve my plantation farm? Does it mean farmers cannot use bitcoin to improve their peasant or plantation farm?
Kindly share your idea to help someone.
Bitcoin is just a currency so if you know how to develop your farming and increase the productivity rate when you have capital then bitcoin can help you with that, simply it can be converted into fiat so you can spend it on necessary requirements to grow your farming rate.

You can also accept bitcoin as a payment mode while you are selling your products to the companies or customers if both are interested in peer to peer transactions.
40  Economy / Services / Re: I will Pay you for your help. TX STUCK FOR 23 DAYS AND COUNTING on: May 08, 2021, 06:09:48 AM
From what I can tell, the transaction was confirmed seven hours ago:
The OP got lucky considering the crazy fees we have seen for the next few months. A few days ago it was over 150 sat/vMB from jochen reading. Even a few hours ago it was over 80 sat/vMB. These days the miner's fees are very volatile. I think some online services has high fees set as default and they create all these high fees paying transactions.

Anyway, it was a good experience for OP maybe next time he will know which wallet will be best for him after reading above responses.
Custodial wallets, exchanges even gambling sites are the main reasons why the fees are highly volatile and insane when the required fee is very low so its like some kind of manipulation too. Every exchanges and sites should move to dynamic fee structure so they can avoid spiking the mempool fee with their high fee which is win-win for them as well as to the crypto community.
