it's gonna be fine. just relax. there is a lot of money waiting on the sidelines to join the crypto craze. they're waiting for the weak-hands to drop so they can buy it cheap.

It is unfathomable to me how little people understand about the impact of this change.
This is basically the folks up there telling us: "Tell me something I like and I'll reward you with a merit"
It completely takes away from the decentralized aspect of this forum and as other folks have rightly pointed out, opens a whole can of worms for a black market to trade these merits.
The moderators are trying to defend themselves by saying that they don't have the time to check on all the spam posts but why not give certain tasks to the community and award them with merits or points or whatever instead?
It would be more concrete and beneficial to the advancement of this place.

I love how certain people are trying to shrug off the merit system as a shitty-post-detector.
Your points are only valid if they are seen and "merited" by a select-few members of this community.
Doesn't anybody else see the mile-long list of potential issues that may arise from this?
Next time, try to come up with more clever schemes to keep yourselves up there on the throne.
Guess what, this post won't get many "merits" because you didn't give the people any who would be using them right now.
What a joke

It's certainly possible but you have to watch the market very closely and exit at the right times if stuff goes wrong.

some people say that it's because of chinese new year whatever. which frankly doesn't make any sense to me.
what I would be looking for is the expiration date of the first US bitcoin futures contract, which is tomorrow.
if we see a recovery after tomorrow, it basically means that the banks are f**king us again.
if not, then I'd be more worried.

I don't know when but it better happen soon. not sure how much longer I can hodl on.

it's easy to say that depending on how much you have invested in the market.

I think the main reason is that people are instinctively afraid of what they don't understand. When you look at the CEOs of large financial institutions and government officials, you can clearly tell that they have little clue about what's going on in the blockchain space and hence are afraid of bitcoin becoming mainstream, a decentralized system that they can't control.

I love how people try to dive into the specifics of a coin to understand why it would or would not success in the long-run.
Guys, we're operating in total darkness here. All these coins are black swans. Anything could happen in this crazy market.
