This is a guide to folding with Folding@home, not mining CureCoin.
Mining CureCoin is wasting CPU power on scrypt hashing to create a block chain where half of the block reward goes to the guys folding in your team.
I still cannot see how mining the coin helps the folding project.
Wouldn’t it be better for anyone if we just threw away all that coin-related stuff and use the CPU power to do more folding instead of securing the useless blockchain?

Jobs was a great visionary and marketeer but Fibonacci was much more. Jobs was never a math and science guy - he only had a basic understanding. Compared to Fibonacci Jobs is a joke, more of an inventor but only if you give him a team to invent his visions while Fibonacci was a true genius in every way.
But I digress....again.
Fibonacci was mostly also a marketeer. He did not invent those arabic numbers. Indians did. But that does not diminish his greatness in any way. |

This was a brilliant idea, a coin built per miner specs with true lottery scam proof Golden Blocks to help the small miner.
Problem was it wasn't done right and the golden blocks were wrong as well, just crap copies of super blocks which are not scam proof.
Problem was the idea was wrong. The idea that random superblocks somehow benefit small miners over big miners was a mistake because someone did not learn well how probability works or maybe did not know that mining is probabilistic. Fibonacci God numbers. Lol, Fibonacci or God? Maybe Fibonacci == God? Seems true to me. Leonardo was the Steve Jobs of that time, as mathematician K. Devlin puts it. |

Protein folding will not effect the blockchain. hashers will secure the blockchain (confirm in previous post). Hashers will be sharing a portion measured by bench marking hardware of similar value.
If folding is separate from mining, it means that half of the network will effectively run the Folding@home client while the other half will waste their GPU power mining the coin. What the point of the coin, then? Wouldn’t it be better just to assign some reward in established cryptocurrency like Bitcoin, mine it and then give rewards to those who contribute to Folding@home? Or at list make your coin merged minable with Bitcoin, like Devcoin and Namecoin had done. Or with LTC if you want scrypt. In order to make a coin that will do something useful, the useful algorithm should at the same time ensure the security of the blockchain. So far, this was only done as a proof of concept by Primecoin, because finding prime chains is doubtfully useful. Only this way the hashing power is not a simple waste of energy. What you so far propose is to waste energy in order to create some doubtful (because the coin will not magically gain value) economic incentive for participating in Folding@home. Does not sound very convincing. |

Перебирать время? Это было бы совсем некорректно, полагаю. Время меняется, но согласно часам, а не перебором. У майнера конечно есть возможность изменить поле время в каких-то пределах, но перебирать его, это уж слишком. Поле время - важная характеристика при генерации блока, оно должно соответствовать своему назначению.
Тогда уж предлагаю при майнинге перебирать сумму перевода в транзакциях и адрес получателя:-)
Нет, идея наверное в том, что если перебрано 4 млрд. нонсов и решение блока всё ещё не найдено, то майнер может обновить поле времени и нонсы можно перебирать заново. |

"Перебираем nonce" - упрощённая информация о сути процесса генерации. Естественно при этом не просто 32-битное число пребирается, а перебираются sha256-хэши заголовка структуры блока с заполненными полями, одним из которых является nonce. Кроме nonce туда ещё много чего входит...

А какие ещё поля меняются при переборе кроме nonce? |

Для небольших сумм таких как за заказы в Макдоналдсе, продавцу не обязательно ждать подтверждения. Вероятность того, что недоев гамбургер, вы побежите делать атаку 51% для того, чтобы даблспенднуть свои BTC0.01 не очень высока. Для более серьёзных сумм лучше подождать 1 подтверждения, а если машину покупаете, то почему бы не подождать час или больше до 6+ подтверждений, чтобы полностью себя обезопасить? А разве я не могу просто послать в сеть фальшивую транзакцию или узлы ее сразу отклонят? Не соответствующую правилам — отклонят. А соответствующую, но повторно использующую прежде потраченные деньги начнут отклонять как только первая, в которой они потрачены, получит подтверждение. Чтобы сделать даблспенд, соответственно, нужно постараться, чтобы обо второй узнали и включили в блок раньше первой большое количество узлов, например, самому намайнить этот блок раньше всех остальных, чтобы его блокчейн стал длиннее хотя бы на 1 блок (иначе все узлы примут более длинный блокчейн). А для этого нужно обладать минимум 51% мощностью сети или около того. Пусть кто-нибудь поправит, если я неправильно объясняю, я сам только недавно прочитал про это всё. |

просто вот представьте ситуацию - вы в фастфуде - там быстро заказали (1минута), оплатили (10сек) и ... 5 минут ждете подтверждения!!! А только потом вам собирают заказ....
да за 5 минут уже все съесть можно и уйти ))
как быть?

Транзакция и так распространяется по сети практически мгновенно. А вот для получения первого подтверждения, нужно, чтобы её какой-нибудь майнер добавил в блок и нашёл для этого блока решение. Ускорить этот процесс никак нельзя, блоки находятся по 1 раз в 10 минут, это свойство системы.

I have zero interest in Esperanto. It solved absolutely nothing and represents a sterling example of naivety, Bitcoin on the other hand actually solves serious problems. It drives me crazy that people refer to Esperanto as culturally neutral. It's a Western European language based on western European grammar. English is far more culturally neutral because it is influenced by Latin, French, Germanic languages and so on. English absorbs any culture it comes in to contact with. English is unparalleled for it's ability to adapt and describe complex technical concepts. There is a reason why English is the international language of aviation even though the French were the leaders in the field for many of it's early years. Not only that, but English is spoken (by some estimates) by over 1 billion people, making it the worlds most spoken language. Why have the entire population switch to an inferior, underdeveloped and anything-but-culturally-neutral language when 1 billion people already speak English? Just saying.  Good point. I add to this that English has achieved true cultural neutrality because it is spoken natively by people of completely unrelated cultures, like those of the U.S. and India. And it is second in number of speakers only to Mandarin but the latter is much more culturally constrained. |

But hundreds of hours just for that one feature, that's crazy. So I need an Eastern European C++ programmer then. Cause they make $500 per month if they're good. In a month I can get 2 really good features programmed and that's well worth $500.
