So wait, I'm confused, pow is over, but why can't I still mine?
Mining IS POW Soon the multipool will be up, which allows you to mine other coins which are then exchanged to CLOAK for you. So we cant mine cloakcoin again? we can only mine another coin and exchange it for cloakcoin? thats lame. oh shut up. you just woke up after a coma or what? all the coins are doing it this way now.! Haha apparently. JPC isn't. But anyways, why are they doing this? whats the point? Do they want it to be an investment only coin? Energy efficient and you can mint (mine/get coins) without hardware. Okay, let me read main post to make sure I'm not missing something... Didn't see anything, so what is minting? Is it where you hold on to coins and the more coins you have the more coins you get?

Why does coinwarz say neocoin is the most profitable? There worth nothing! And whattomine says cloakcoin?
Seems like you are looking to mine and dump. For which coin are you dumping for?
What do you mean?
it changes everyday, just use a multipool if you dont want to keep track of which coin to mine on what day or use coinwarz.
i'm using Trade my bit or clevermining at the moment. I'm sure if i thoroughly read these forums and looked into all teh coins more deeply there is more money to be made but i dont have the time to follow it all that closely.
Hmm interesting. Coinwarz is quite useful. Currently it say neocoins are most profitable. Anyways, has anyone figured out why you can't (aren't supposed to) directly deposit funds into crypsy from your pool? Because if I'm going to start multiming, I can't download 50 wallets.

Hello, I was mining feathercoins, then scrypt asics came along and I predict feathercoin is gonna die off soon because of it. Then I switched to vertcoin. That went okay, and I might mine those occasionally. Then I started mining darkcoin because the whole x11 thing lured me in. But I make way less in darkcoin than i do with vertcoin and feathercoin.
I have only one 7970, getting about 700 kh/s on scrypt coins, 300 kh/s on scrypt-n coins, and 2.1 mh/s on x11 coins.
I also decided might as well cpu mine too and just started solo mining primecoin. I get 68 primespersec and 1.39669671 chainsperday.
So my question is what should I do? What coin is currently the most profitable for GPU mining? What coin is most profitable for CPU mining?

Generally, you pretty much break even with not that much profit. The reason I mine, is as an investment. My hope is that the coin I'm currently mining, will go up in price 5 years down the road, and then I will cash out all of them and hopefully make some cash. I would recommend mining, because it is a great hobby ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) Currently I'm using 7970's and r9 280x's. You can see which cards have the best hashrates here: https://litecoin.info/Mining_hardware_comparisonCheck out prices on them and figure which one you think is the best bang for the buck. Also, since scrypt is about to be taken over by asics, I mine scrypt-n coins. I myself have just recently started mining, so you probably want some input from the pro's too.

Hello, I was originally mining feathercoins, but I want to switch to the new scrypt-n to get away before asics hit. Anyways, I decided vertcoin looked pretty good, but then I realized that the pool I'm using (give-me-coins.com) does merged mining for all 3 of these coins. Does this mean I have to have 3 wallets? I wanted vertcoin and thats it! instead I'm getting PLX atm. What's the point of this? I'm confused, please explain ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif)

Try using this configuration. I get 744khash with kalroth cgminer from here: http://k-dev.net/cgminer/setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100 setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1 color 0F cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://eu.wafflepool.com:3333 -u 1PdHRDrRxBsohPRJMxTa5cVLNriEbJUhdP -p x --thread-concurrency 11200 -I 13 --gpu-engine 1055 --gpu-memclock 1500 -w 256 -g 2 --no-submit-stale --lookup-gap 2 --failover-only -o stratum+tcp://backupPool -u user -p pass I got it up to 670 now, getting better, using optimized cgminer. I am not using your settings though because your tc, gpu-engine, and memclock all take it down to 620. How do I use optimized scrypt binaries? there weren't any instructions that I could find in the thread.
Only use shader or tc, not both, it will override with the shader count. I run 1080core/1500mem at 1.1 volts with 20% power tune and get ~750 kh/s.
Do you recommend shaders or thread-concurrency? I'm getting ~660 right now, but I would still like to get into the 700 range. Any other advice?

Hello, as the title states no matter what I do, I cannot get past 640. First off, some info with my card: http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/129658/sapphire-hd7970-3072-120926.htmlThat is my exact card. My card also has the same bios: 015.025.000.099.000000 After extensive testing, and overclocking, my best settings are --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://ftc.give-me-coins.com:3336 -u microzee.ftc -p 7623 --thread-concurrency 8192 -I 13 -g 2 -w 256 --shaders 2048 --lookup-gap 2 And you guessed it. The default values. I have done overclocking, which reduces my values to around 630 or less. I can run a stable memclock at 1700, and I have tried various gpu clocks, all of which do not help that much I also never see a significant drop, so I can never find the "sweet spot." Also, I thought you were supposed to run the highest thread-concurrency your gpu can take, but that also lowers my values. I found that I can run up to 20480. What can I do? Please don't just post your settings and ask me to try them out especially if they have gpu-engine and memclock settings because that all depends on your certain card. Instead have me run tests or something.

My Asus 280X DCII does around 750 Kh/s with 8191 (yes a 1), I = 13, GPU engines = 2, worksize = 256. Clock 1080 core, 1500 mem, that should do the trick!
Thanks, but I dont have a 280x. Anyways, I'm trying to figure out 3 things. First, why doesn't sgminer work. Second, why doesn't my readings work on gpu-z Third, why did my computer crash twice.

If you have the same cards (2x 7970) you can also skip Anyway my setting for sgminer for 7970 and R9 270 is like that: color 0F sgminer -d 0,1 -o stratum+tcp://stratum.nicehash.com:3333 -u 1PdHRDrRxBsohPRJMxTa5cVLNriEbJUhdP -p d=64 --thread-concurrency 11200,21568 -I 13,19 --gpu-engine 1055,1150 --gpu-memclock 1500,1500 -w 256 -g 2,1 --no-submit-stale --lookup-gap 2 I'm just trying to get sgminer working right now. Why does cgminer work and sgminer doesn't? I do not have the same cards, I'm trying to only use the second card.
u can skip gpu platform, and just add -d 0,1 It just says command line option set a device that does not exist. I don't get why it doesn't work since it works fine with GUI Miner. I switched to cgminer for now, since it works fine. Right now though I'm only getting ~600 hashes.
One more thing to add to this, I switched to sgminer, and now I can't get it to work at all! The problem is, it wont mine on my second gpu. Code: setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1 "D:\Mining\sgminer-zuikkis-05-17-2014\sgminer.exe" -o stratum+tcp:/ftc.give-me-coins.com:3336 -u microzee.ftc -p 7623 --gpu-platform 1 -d 0 --thread-concurrency 8192 -I 13 -g 2 -w 256 --lookup-gap 2 --gpu-engine 1055 --gpu-memclock 1500 pause It will either crash, or say the device doesn't exist, depending on the gpu-platform and d. When I was using GUI-miner, it did platform 1 and d 0, which appears correct if I do a -n.

So I actually think somethings up with my card. When I bump up the thread concurrency or intensity or both, my hashrate goes down. If I just leave it I get ~650, if I bump some stuff up, it goes to ~595. Another thing that makes me think its messed up is this: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fimageupper.com%2Fs04%2F1%2F7%2FJ14005444781868997_1.png&t=663&c=RIGw7MOm-G19uA) Not sure if you need this one: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fimageupper.com%2Fs05%2F1%2F10%2FZ14005446721864914_1.png&t=663&c=bxvePVXDi2Hhdw) Anyways, whats with the clock readings? As a side note, I ran this card just fine overnight on standard 7970 settings. Then I run it again during the day and my computer just shuts off. There was still a light on, but if you press the power button it turns on for half a second and then back off. If you take everything out and put everything all back in it works again. That has happened twice. I don't get it because it ran just fine overnight though. You can check out this topic here for some more info on that: http://www.computerforums.org/forums/hardware/computer-shut-off-didnt-turn-back-did-later-hardware-failure-225209.html
