29  Other / Off-topic / Re: Please, stop having children. (Discussion about overpopulation) on: January 01, 2018, 03:07:17 PM
The New York Times had an interesting article about the effects of negative population growth in Germany (http://www.nytimes.com/2013/08/14/world/europe/germany-fights-population-drop.html?_r=0&pagewanted=all). Several countries in Europe, as well as Japan, are facing similar issues. The problem is that the labor force cannot expand without growth.

I think your issue is not that people should not have children, really - its more that people should understand the economic and parental responsibility of having a large family.
30  Other / Off-topic / What trick helped you the most when had to stop the urge of smoking? on: January 01, 2018, 02:29:09 PM
How can you help a friend quit smoking? He has made several attempts to quit, so maybe hearing other peoples' success stories can really help.

32  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Who built the greatest empire of the ancient world on: January 01, 2018, 02:14:12 PM
I suppose it depends on your definition of 'greatest.' I assume that most of us in the western world would consider Alexander the Great's Empire as being the 'greatest' since we grew up hearing about him the most often and remnants of ancient Greek society are a large influence on modern western society, but consider the following:

1. Gengis Khan was born into nothing (literally - his father lead a small Mongol tribe that abandoned his family after his father's death), while Alexander simply succeeded his father for the throne.

2. Genghis Khan single-handedly built up the largest empire in world history (except for the British Empire, which we all know they didn't really fight for that so doesnt count), all while managing to unite warring tribes.

3. His successors lasted much longer than Alexander the Great's and founded empire's who's culture permeates throughout the east (think the Yuan Dynasty in China or the Mughal Empire in India)

4. (The piece de resistance, IMO): The dude was the king of the feigned retreat, whereby his army would actually turn their horses and pretend to retreat from an oncoming army while GUIDING THEIR HORSE GALLOPING BACKWARDS and shooting at their charging enemy with a bow. (Major points for badassery right there).

34  Other / Politics & Society / Re: do you think that corruption can be deleted totally in your country? on: December 28, 2017, 08:40:47 AM
Only if enough people have the will. Colombia is a fairly good example of how a very corrupt country fought long and hard and was eventually able to (mostly) root it out), but if no one cares, and continues to vote them in and give them support then it becomes impossible.

38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Where do you find your news? on: December 18, 2017, 11:49:22 AM
You'll see most ICO announcements in Bitcoin Talk, but previous to the official announcement you can find a lot of good information through Telegram for sure, Slack, and you def need to check Steemit and Reddit!
39  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How I can make money with cryptocurrencies? on: December 18, 2017, 10:08:45 AM
The 'easiest' way is by trading, you can quite easily open a wallet and buy coins but you do need to read and get informed about the market, you can use coinmarketcap to check the trends and start playing a bit to see how it goes! Bounty campaigns and mining are good options but you'll probably need to spend some time doing research about how the crypto market works!
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin or Ethereum? on: December 18, 2017, 09:56:01 AM
