but i really don't know what i might be doing wrong. is it the hardware? is it he software? i really don't know.
Sounds to me your power supply is too weak. Go for at least 1000W and try again, or lower the voltage on all boards and try with your current power supply. how much power does this thing take? i went from 500w to 700w. i guess i'll try the 1000w this time

Okay I got it working. The only problem I got now is that I can only get bank number 1-11 working. I have 12 plugged in. but only 11 looks to be working. I’m have a problem running the rig when I have all 16 h boards plugged in. it would just power up and shut off. But when I remove 4 (left with 12) it would power on and I would be able to hash. However it would only hash with 11 boards. i've also notice that after hashing for about 20min or so, some of the h boards stop hashing. only 4 would be hashing still and the rest would stop. why is that?
Any idea on how to fix this problem.
i doubt that its the psu. but i could be wrong. my psu is 700w and 570w towards 12v. i have 2 pci-e cables on the psu. if you think its the psu. please direct me to the right place to buy the right psu. psu model: coolmax cu700b

NOTEDue to my personal epic screw-up the SD image does not contain a working binary. And on top of this some orders were shipped without instructions also We have whipped ourselves vigorously here over the weekend and will try to improve our process so these bloopers don't happen in the future. Here's how to get your miner working: 1. Check your router for bitfury IP 2. SSH into the raspberry pi (username pi password raspberry) 3. Run following commands: cd /opt/bitfury/chainminer sudo make clean sudo make sudo killall screen sudo /etc/rc.local
You should now be mining. You can check the web interface of the miner with a normal browser and setup your pools there (use the IP that you used for SSH). after followed the instructions here and for some reason my miner would only load up to the login and password for the rpi and then turn off. the strange thing is that it didn't do this before i followed the instructions. did i do something wrong? Sounds like your power supply is shutting off due to overload as soon as the cards begin hashing? Are you sure it is capable of providing enough 12v power to the particular connectors you plugged into the rig? never got the chance to even hash yet. so i don't know why it is using so much power. i first used a 500w psu. it only had one pci-e cable. so i added one more by connecting 2 IDE 4pin to 1 pci-e cable. (please keep in mind that i have the v3.0 mboard) it was only able to power on 12 hboards. it turned on for about 5min (not mining/hashing). then the psu sparked up and turned off. was never able to get it running again with that psu. so i went ahead and bought 700w psu (12v is at 570w max) with 2 pci-e cables to replace the 500w psu. surly that should be enough power. it would only power on 13 of the hboards. hey i'm able to power on 1 more now. but i really don't know what i might be doing wrong. is it the hardware? is it he software? i really don't know.

i've also notice that my hboards are getting really hot even when i'm not mining.
miner: no process found
what does that mean. is something wrong with my sd?
i think you did the chainminer update wrong. without going back to dissect each change you made, heres the best way to start from scratch: 1) download the newest SD image for your version of m-board 2) connect a screen and keyboard and start up the system. login as pi/raspberry 3) on first boot it should ask you if you want to change the ip. check your router (usually 192.168.X.1) and set the bitfury to 192.168.X.249 (x being a number, likely 1 or 0) 4) set up pool info via ssh or webUI 5) you should be mining already. to update the chainminer to improve the error rates: ChainMiner for M Board Version 2.X boards DO not use this guide for Version 1x m-boards. It will fry your chips. This is only meant for Version 2 of the M-board.I apologize for grammar as I took 2 sleeping pills and I can barely feel my fingers. 1.login as pi or root 2. type "nano /run/shm/.stat.log" if you wish to see the performance of all the chips on your board before upgrading chain miner. (optional step) 3.(backup your chainminer version) (this creates a copy of the folder) a. sudo cp -a /opt/bitfury /usr/bitfury.backup b. cd /opt/bitfury/ c. pwd (make sure you are in /opt/bitfury) d. ls -al (or type dir) e. rm -rf chainminer (this removes everything in the chainminer folder and the chainminer folder itself) 4. make sure you are in the /opt/bitfury directory and not in /opt/bitfury/chainminer (it should be deleted anyway 5. type "git clone https://github.com/bfsb/chainminer.git" 6. it should now start getting the chainminer git. 7. now type "cd chainminer" you should now be in the chainminer directory 8. type "make" 9. Its going to take 5-10 minutes to create the chainminer...maybe longer. I got some warning but everything was fine after it all finished. it will go back to a bash prompt when done. 9a. Just wait...this is the longest part of doing this change.. 10. sudo reboot how do i get the v3.0 mboard image file?

is there any live chat like maybe irc or something. i don't have a lot of time and as days goes by i lose out on the chance to mine.

do you still have the hubs in stock?
|
|
|
just two questions before i submit payment,
1. how would i calculate the shipping for the 100 usb plus 2 hubs? 2. are you selling the hubs separately?
i wanted to add 2 extra hubs to my order. bring it to a total of 100 usb plus 4 hubs

could i send payment via coinbase? do i need to use bitcoin-qt?

what is the maximum number of usb one computer can support. right now i am running 40 without a problem. but i would love to be able to put more on one computer. running 3 computers with 40 on each. am i able to put them all on on computer?

Canary, did I make the shipment? I'll drop off yours before 7 PM today no worries. I live in China, where can I order these products more locally? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=270573.0Also, I'll have the 49 port hubs available on Monday. they will be included with orders of 50 USBs. what kind of hub is it? brand? is it powered? can we buy them separately?

anyone one receive their 400gh/s unit set for October delivery yet?

Any further projections on final cost?
I'd like to order more but want to make sure I have the funds.
Still looking like 0.6 per?
I think it would be a safe bet that the final price would be below 0.55BTC even with the (relatively small) number of confirmed orders so far. The bigger the order the lower the price. Ideally we would like to exceed 3000 devices so that we can get a reel of chips from Buzzdave at $30/chip (as opposed to zefir's at 0.27BTC). In this case our projections indicate a final price in the 0.40-0.43 range. how much do i need to order to get it at .40btc complete and shipped? I'm located in the US.

it clearly shows it's for January. where did you get November from?

Just publish it. You may not die rich, but you will live for all eternity in the science books.
If this works, no need to teleport people. Just get a loyal soldier, and create a clone army. Then do world domination. Or duplicate gold, because you can't double spend bitcoins, but you can "teleport" gold back and forth.
lets all teleport back with our Asic and start mining btc too.

thanks for the tip. however i am asking for some kind of proof showing me that he can back his theory up. But.. solid 100% proof that it can't be done has been posted numerous times. Seriously. It's not a matter of some smart algorithm that we didn't consider, some new fancy approach, or 'thinking out of the box'. The idea he proposed (as well as the video from that other site) is simply a logical impossibility. so in other words... it is just a roody poo idea

Bitfury purposely underclocked the chip to achieve competitive power specs. That essentially means they are willing to deliver more total hardware for the equivalent hash rate. To me, that means KnC will have a lower (ultimate) price point than Bitfury when the pricing war is over.
I'm not sure I understand why you say that Bargraphics has displayed retarded logic. I know him and I know that he is not a single camp kind of guy. To me, his statement is not coming out in support of KnC. To me, he is simply stating that in order to have the same power draw for a given hash rate, the 55nm hardware has to be underclocked and over-supplied (comparatively).
Everyone is singing the praises of 28nm architecture, saying that it is the best bang for the buck. All I see is spending a tremendous amount of upfront money for a huge risk and offloading that risk to a bunch of pre-ordering ASIC junkies (us). I don't like it. I believe that Bitfury hit the nail squarely on the head. I believe they will underclock to compete with the 28nm folk and just have an incrementally higher hardware cost. They may not see the profit that the 28nm folk could ultimately generate, but they also took A LOT less risk and spent A LOT less OPM (other people's money). Very commendable and admirable in my opinion.
Lastly, we really don't know what KnC will yield. We only know their estimated power. It could come in anywhere really. If their chip isn't custom routed like Bitfury's, then is it possible that their performance differential will only be due to using smaller architecture.
agreed. it is underclocked just to insure longevity of the chips. thous not dealing with much customer support for RMA. while allowing them to have more time to do research on future projects. i love the way they do business. also they are the only ones that was able to even ship out at the speed claimed.
