21  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: (Review/Guide) WhatsMiner M3 11.5 Th/s, 2000W Bitcoin (SHA-256) ASIC miner on: December 25, 2017, 01:45:46 AM
11.7 Thash at 2000-2200 watts is a joke these days, I wouldn't use it if it were free.  Piece of crap 28 nm miner.

11.7 is highly competitive. Unless you have stupid high electricity costs, the wattage can be overlooked the first few months. Only becomes a problem as difficulty climbs. But by then, it's paid itself off.

Has anyone tried to buy s9 asics from Alibaba? Are the sellers there trustworthy?

I don't have experience in this field specifically, but I have had dealings with Alibaba manufacturers before. Short answer, no.

I want to start out with 4 741's then progress from there. I missed the pre-order sale on cryptouniverse today but I live in the US so Blokforge should have the same pre-order sale soon. I have heard great things about the reliability of the Avalons. How has your experience been so far?

I was under the impression that the 741's are no longer available to buy from distributors or canaan.

Just curious what you guys have to think.

Do you see anyone putting out any new USB Asic miners? I would love to grab something that doesn't lose me money, even if I don't really profit. But people are trying to sell their USB miners for $50 each. It's ridiculous right now with the mining mania we're seeing.

Thanks!

the mainlander for script mining like ltc   have a state of the art chip.

it is the only sick that can  turn a profit at the moment

the best sha-256 is sidehacks 2pac and it can not realistically turn a profit.

I have both sticks.

2 moonlander 2's   these do 10 mh on medium clocks

1 two pac
3 compac

the sidekick sticks do 40gh on easy clocks

I appreciate your insight. I am like 95% certain that I will be ordering a moonlander or two. Great video you linked. I liked your taking the fans off. Are they really that bad?

Do you see the 2pacs getting a facelift? Or do you think the trend going further into the TH/s means that we've seen the last USBs for Bitcoin?

the two pacs are good  but sidekick is using s-5 chips

so they  are out of date.

he can not get what he needs to do a modern stick

the mainlanders have a modern chip they will be competitive for a while.

I point my sidekick sticks at a pool that pays a reward for hitting a block
and it also pays some coin  for mining.

Have you come across a Litecoin pool that works similarly? It would be fun to take that "gamble" with them.
