23  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Quit Facebook on: February 04, 2018, 09:50:12 AM
I genuinely can't fathom why anyone would want to quit Facebook ; ) It's a great opportunity for getting the latest information on relevant trends and developments in the domains of your interest. And while naturally not all of these people are your real friends, you still can stay in touch and see what they are doing. You might just discover new things that might interest you as well. And besides, Facebook can function in a similar manner to LinkedIn I believe - when you are looking for a job, you can find ways of contacting people that you otherwise wouldn't be able to.

On a side note, if anyone has privacy concerns, to a degree - I can comprehend why you would ; )

English is not my native language and the languages I'm interested in are Hindi and Chinese, because I think China and India will be global market leaders in several more domains in the next few years to come. If you'd like any advice on how to learn languages either really fast or very thorough, feel free to send me a message or post in this thread & send me a message (as I might not get notified of potential replies otherwise)
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is it worth using Binance's coin to trade with when using Binance? on: January 31, 2018, 09:25:25 PM
It absolutely makes sense I think, in the end, you are left with more of your own coins. Otherwise you would have to pay with the very coins you had purchased for each operation involving this certain coin. Like is the case on traditional exchanges or on HitBTC which offers some really interesting coins, but charges horrendous fees for withdrawing them ; ) Using this exclusive feature* is therefore quite beneficial to us investors and traders I think!

*As far as I know, only Kucoin and Coss (and maybe some 2-3 more exchanges) are offering similar features, so it's still a pretty unique selling point in my opinion.
28  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to get around the FACEBOOK's BAN for cryptocurrency & ICO on: January 31, 2018, 08:39:11 AM
For sure, you have already read depressing news about the Facebook's ban of advertising crypto currency.
I have already experienced this. I want to tell you about what and how Facebook does and what you and me can do with it. (https://techcrunch.com/2018/01/30/facebook-is-banning-cryptocurrency-and-ico-ads/)

1. Don't participate a bounties, which ask you to add the links to your posts. Before the announcement of the ban, Facebook began to form a black list of companies and campaigns for advertising crypto. It includes links to company websites and ICO, to groups in Telegram, to blogs in Medium and to Facebook pages. Any posts / reposts containing these links are blocked. That is, you made a publication, copied / saved the link for the report, and an hour later it was already broken, there are no publication anymore.

2. Do not take a bounty, which ask you to add the hashtags to posts. There is the similar situation with it. The most popular of them are also easily tracked by Facebook, with the posts / reposts containing them happens  the same  - the ban.

3. When you are writing your posts, pay attention to the vocabulary you use: ICO is better to write completely initial coin offering, you can replace coin with token. Words cryptocurrency, bitcoins, altkoins, etc., let try not to use at all, it is better to write an alternative currency, etc.

4. If the most part of your friends is in a crypto community, the more you are protected from blocking your account. The fact is that if your publications do not have the above listed markers, Facebook will be able to learn that you advertise the crypto only if someone complains about you. It is clear, that all our accounts are public, but our news is regularly seen only by our friends and subscribers, so it's very important to add new friends very prejudicedly and check the list of existing ones.

5. Once a hour or more, check the "Notifications" menu in your profile, they show all the locks of your posts / reposts, they are indicated by the mail envelope icon.
If you think that your publication did not violate Facebook's rules, click on the button "This is not spam," if you made a mistake, ignore the notice and write a new post, according to my recommendations.

6. I don't want to, but have to ... You need to add a phone number to your page. 1 number - 1 account
If you are blocked, this will save you from losing the page. Keep always near at hand the photo used in the profile of Facebook, it will help verify the identity. If your name is crypto, bounty, etc. urgently correct it for the existing human name.

I hope that this will help us in our already hard work.
If you have something to add, write, I will update the topic.
Wish you all the good!
Plus Merit if I help you with this information)

This is really useful, I didn't know Facebook was being so aggressive about this. Thanks for letting us know. And if I had any sMerit to give, I would ; )
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 2 Ethereum or 15 NEO for long term on: January 30, 2018, 11:15:39 PM
I would split 60 to 40. I am certain that NEO will probably rise ... like a lot... in 2018 alone ; ) So investors should see some nice profits. However, I would be hesitant to invest all you got in NEO, because well, to my mind, it seems there is a much higher risk involved here and there is just this factor of unpredictability. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think the price might fluctuate depending on certain occurrences that might or might not happen in China in future.
30  Other / Off-topic / Re: Self-education. on: January 30, 2018, 11:07:44 PM
Is it possible to become a specialist studying by yourself?

In the technology we had it now, my answer is yes! Because, nowadays compare before are easy to learn something just you have an internet into your home. YOu can make a lot of study depending on what you like to discover or to learn something. Just type in the google search then it will appear and it will be give the information link which you are searching for.

I quite agree with @thunderbitz2717 and I am living proof that this approach actually works quite well ; )
I have acquired several skills completely online. It may not be the traditional approach, so depending on one's domain of expertise, gaining recognition may be slightly less easy. However, nowadays there is a variety of online courses available that issue official certificates, and I think this kind of 'personalized education' will be gaining even more momentum in future! So the answer is: Yes, absolutely!

32  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie can not Join Bounty Program? on: January 28, 2018, 10:53:53 AM
Newbie Rank unable to join the bounty program?
there a chance to get it if you follow it?
Please Help Me
Yeah, exactly for most cases! The reasonn is there are tons of newbie accounts in the forum. Some account are created from new users, otherwise some accounts created by old users, who tried cheating the system with lots of faking ones. Those sort of faking accounts used only for cheating money from bounties, airdrops, campaigns, etc in the forum. That's too bad.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.0

New merit system launched by admin of the forum, Theymos, might solve that issue related to newbies.

Accounts were being traded like hot cookies, it's exactly for this reason that I think the new merit system will be a success in preventing low-quality posts and spamming.
33  Other / Off-topic / Re: if you woke up in 2037, what's the first thing you'd google? on: January 28, 2018, 08:56:40 AM
I'd google 'social media' or 'society + trends' - pictures and videos would convey how much society and the world we live in has changed much faster than a text would. Also, you'd see what is currently trending right away. And then I'd go from there.

36  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the difference between coins and tokens? on: January 27, 2018, 06:25:53 PM
What is the difference between coins and tokens?

An altcoin is a completely seperate currency, with its own blockchain, that isn't dependant on another blockchain, has it's own wallets etcetera.

Tokens are usually based/made upon another crypto currency. Take for example the ethereum protocol. There's tons of "tokens" which are on it. They use the same wallets as their parent currency, are (mostly) coded the same way, etc. (-- If Ethereum would stop functioning, so would all the tokens that are on their platform.)

You should see tokens as another currency inside the blockchain of another coin.

https://coinmarketcap.com/tokens/

This is a great explanation in plain, easy-to-read English. Short, yet you got all the main points covered ; )
@OP: May I just add a few more links to that which I believe might be of interest to you should you be looking for some in-depth information.

These are the resources I would recommend:
(1) https://coincheckup.com/ (a basic overview of most of the coins & tokens around)
(2) https://compare.digitalcoinprice.com/ (lets you compare two or more coins & tokens with one another, has been often really quite useful!)

P.S. While I was typing, a fellow member already mentioned something regarding another aspect which was basically what I wished to say also ; ) Now especially when you've got a start-up, they might design their tokens as so called "functional utility tokens", meaning their tokens would have a specific function within their platform / ecosystem. An interesting read on this issue of terminology might be the following short article on coindesk: https://www.coindesk.com/utility-coins-crypto-assets-token-terminology-one-big-gray-area/

There have been recent changes, now you also need sufficient 'merit points'; also, signatures work for Jr. Members no longer.

39  Economy / Exchanges / Re: LOOKING FOR A CRYPTOCURRENCY EXCHANGE on: January 25, 2018, 02:07:20 PM
I think the most traditionally well-known exchanges are: Bittrex, Bitfinex and Poloniex. There’s also Coinmama and Cryptopia. Beware of holding large amounts of crypto on exchanges however, exchanges are for exchanging or trading (daytrading for example), in my opinion – So I wouldn’t keep large amounts of crypto on any exchange . Bittrex, Bitfinex and Poloniex and Coinama are centralized exchanges – meaning in theory they could do whatever they choose with your funds, e.g. freeze them if they have their suspicions about a user’s activity (even if that person is 100% legit).

Then there are decentralized exchanges like EtherDelta, OpenLedger/Bitshares, IDEX, altcoin.io and others… They are completely decentralized – as the name says – so you have less of that risk described above and also more immediate control of your coins. Some decentralized exchanges will work a bit less user friendly, but after watching 1-2 YouTube videos, you’ll get the hang of it.

Remember: Anybody can get hacked. Therefore I’d advise you to store your coins in a paper wallets or a hard wallet.

My personal favorite would be Binance or KuCoin. They offer great bonuses so you can greatly save in fees. Plus, they got many competitions and give you regularly a chance at winning prizes and cryptocurrency (like KuCoin is doing right now; you can simply re-tweet their pinned post and get some ETH or win a car). Also, if you so choose, you can pay the fees in their own currency (Binance Coin and Kucoin Shares respectively). This way, you do not lose any amount of the crypto you purchased, but pay any fees necessary in the respective currency of the exchange platform or you get a discount on fees which is still pretty decent.

Also, the link below provides a comprehensive summary of most of the exchanges that are out there:
https://exchangewar.info/

If you are curious or have any further questions, do not hesitate to ask me or other members here or go watch a few YouTube videos on this subject. I think YouTube is one of the best ways to get educated about any topic! ; )

PS: I'd recommend registering on as many exchanges as possible. You never know with crypto as most things are highly time-sensitive here in this domain. With regards to exchanges this means that certain platforms might (temporarily or non-temporarily) close registration to users in future so it's best to register while you still can ; )
40  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Pollution on: January 25, 2018, 10:37:38 AM
I try to keep pollution at a minimal level, using re-usable things whenever I can (no plastic), and I'm always trying to reduce the waste of resources as much as possible in general.
