An Update on my Jupiter: After taking some advice on the KNC forum I updated to .95, rebooted then did a "hard reset" as outlined in the KNC manual. I saw .95 wasn't working out and switched to .94. I'm now stable at .94 with a cool room where before the hard reset it would drop ghs to unacceptable levels. I'm getting this on Eligius.st right now 3 hours 473.45 Gh/s 1190528 22.5 minutes 475.64 Gh/s 149504 256 seconds 551.80 Gh/s 32890 128 seconds 523.45 Gh/s 15600
My only issue now is this module marked with a "3" sticker on it. My other three modules have "1" and are fine.

if anyone is interested in a detailed account of dealing with 4 VRM boards pre-.95 I posted it here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=306969.msg3325981#msg3325981For anyone that has been running overclocked 4 VRM boards (since that was the only firmware we had to choose from) then you might want to really think before switching to .95 If you have a new miner without a lot of HW errors (cores turning off) you may be fine with .95 but just know you are stuck with a substandard miner compared to one with 8 VRMs overclocking?.... how are you doing that? 4 VRM boards with pre-.95 firmware FORCED us to overclock by running high voltage/amps from our VRMs. The reason I was able to get to 520Gh stable on my miner with .93 was that the overclocking compensated for the HW errors and that .93 restarts often if you miner starts to drop performance. You can notice overclocking by the WU value you have compared to the number of cores you have running. When you run .95 on a 4 VRM miner you will see a big decrease in WU Since I am stuck with running .94 I will try putting a cgminer restart in the cron for every 30mins or hour to keep performance up Hey If you can make that work please post how you added that to cron. crontab -e is not working

If I have corsair HX850 PSUs for my miners should I immidietly change them or should I wait for official info?
in a post a bit back from this thread (look for it sorry can't seem to find it) there was a method to wait for a bit then unplug psu from miner ..then run psu alone w/o miner then shut it down and re plug in after don't quote me but a few pages back in this thread myself i'd send it back if you could hope my seasonic 860 is ok and not the same mnfg or some such Searing What? I ran an HX850 for days on my Jupiter and nothing exploded although out of habit I wait till fans stop which is 10sec to turn back on. Have since swapped the HX for a TX I had already. Edit: Guess I should add that my miner on HX drew 555wats on peak start, I have 8 vrm per module. Don't know if it was just the people who run 900watt that are vulnerable or what with the HX850.

.95 firmware for me is a little slower but more stable... Really torn here between loading .91 back and keeping .95?
Don't know how KNC is going to fix my issue if they are shipping 4vrm per module now and I have 8. It's like I have a different product.
Not always best to be first!

LOL i was wondering when I would see this thread!!
I got my Jupiter on the 7th so I'm a little bias I guess?

Upgraded from .91 to .95
Erratic first hour, it would go up to 550ghs then crash to 300 something and back. It looks to be settling now at about 450ghs. Will update

I WAS using an HX850 but luckily enough I had a TX850 on my gaming rig that I'm now using on my Jupiter.

LOL DPoS I think all of our machines look the same right now tops off and a walt-mart special fan propped right where you have it.
You know all I'm asking of KNC is that they help those of us who do not have 500ghs+ stable machines. Just saying you are in spec GOODBYE! is not cool it's not good business. There are a lot of mining company's out right now and coming out. If I come back to KNC it's going to be because I know I'm going to be taken care of and I'm not playing a game of chance ordering from them.

So that whole youtube video with the sheets of paper saying how we were GOING to ALL get 500ghs miners was total bullshit? KFC miner is starting to stick...
I guess legally at the time of sale Jupiter was sold as 350-400ghs miner but I STILL do not have a STABLE 400ghs or even stable 350ghs machine, 100ghs swings are not acceptable, having to point house fans at my miner with the top off to keep it running on any firmware is NOT what we paid for. Also a company promising you the paying customer a 500ghs on video is kinda a contract in my eyes LIVE UP TO IT!
Can you imagine another company selling ovens or something and saying "hey we're sorry about the 100 degree swings and burnt food but hey the oven does get to 400 degrees right!?! Sorry no warranty because it does cook right?!..."

$7200 missing $20 router LOL go to the store real quick

Tryed .93 again now that I have the top off and mass fans and it hashes for about 90 seconds or so then cg crashes, repeat, repeat, etc...
Putting .91 back in action. .94 for me is not profitable for me, stable or not taking an 80ghs hit after 3 hours of operation isn't acceptable. My main problem with .94 and .91 is this slow death of ghs the longer it runs.
EDIT: Hey is there a way for me to make my Jupiter auto reboot each hour, like a script or some cron job entry I can make? This could fix my .94 issue.

My Jupiter on .94 fw after 4hr is running at 495watts and hashing at 435ghs and dropping?? It was at 480ghs@535 when it started up and settled. Also had cg crashing when the room went over 75F, mind you I have the top off with a ac fan blowing downward and another doing cross sweeps. This new firmware is far from a finished...
At 495watts 44.0 ℃ 43.5 ℃ 43.0 ℃ 33.0 ℃

Firmware .94 is a WIN was having multi probs couldn't run .92-.93 etc... Now it seems solid at 470-480!! not to bad was hoping to have a full on half terrahash of power but this is nice considering I paid for a 350-400ghs machine?
I'm only using 535 watts, it spikes to 555w at CG start but then drops slow to settle at 535. Is this normal? I'm hearing people saying they're running 850watts?! I have a Corsair HX850 and the cores are at 44c to 35c. I KNOW this thing can push a LOT more.
Good job KNC but lets unleash this thing in the next firmware.
EDIT: FW .94 not winning anymore, It slow dies after a few hr.

Hey testing .94 firmware right now!
Was 460-470ghs@535...

.94 firmware not working for me??? looks nice lol

LOL don't think to hard do what I did, rip that junk top off and get an evil-mart cheapo $10 ac fan and prop it dead center or near your "bad" chip... I should say lower grade chip and your going to see 50ghs increase. Also make sure room air is circulating. I'm getting avg. 460ghs@535watts on .91 firmware. Not the best unit they've shipped but its working.

My Jupiter won't run the .92 or .93 firmware it just causes CGminer to crash over and over. I've found .91 to be the most stable and fast avg. 460ghs@535 watts and guys get a meter so you can see when you are hashing, It's been a life saver. Using 50btc.com pool
I think the main problem we're all having is that KNC in their infinite wisdom spiked(maybe to harsh) almost every Jupiter with 1 lower grade unit you can see in the one I have 3 units that have "1" stickers on them and the HOT one thats causing issues has a "3". Our machines can only hash as fast as our worst unit right now. Other company sell by grade as KNC should start doing if they can't solve this with a firmware update.
P.S. Can someone post a cheat sheet on cgminer commands ur using? I'm not a linux noob just cgminer and this OS on Jupiter. Basics start, stop maybe add redundancy pools if KNC does not in FW .94

Hi guys I have a Jupiter and have been around the forums a long while 1yr... new name under VPN.
OK how do you mine with a VPN? Easy get an old PC load it with PFsense and use openvpn to route all traffic through the VPN. Really any linux will do. Search engine skills required for this task yet not to hard to pull off. Can do the same trick with TOR using linux it's called a transparent anonymizing proxy < search that. TOR's own site has instructions how to set it up.
How to find the miner IP, log into your router 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 go to the DHCP page or the ARP table and find the IP. You can also use nmap with GUI like umit in ubuntu. Just 'sudo apt-get install umit' go into it (yes root) and type in the target box 192.168.0.* then quick detect, go!
