21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XJO] Joulecoin | SHA256 | First SHA256 data coin | Major upgrade 0.10.4.2 on: September 11, 2018, 04:32:03 AM
We are getting better:

encrypt a message. Run it through a paste bin. Send the URL as a tx comment.

Made a web page where it is possible to encrypt a message via AES encryption with a key.

The compression ratio isn't perfect, but it increases to 67.4% before 240 character limit is reached.

However website linking is an awesome way to save storage for the Blockchain.

I got the following number for efficiency on the encryption compression ratio:
Code:
0.341 IN:15 OUT:44
0.484 IN:31 OUT:64
0.583 IN:63 OUT:108
0.617 IN:79 OUT:128
0.625 IN:95 OUT:152
0.645 IN:111 OUT:172
0.662 IN:143 OUT:216
0.674 IN:159 OUT:236

So at a small encryption it is around 35%, going all the way to ~67% at its best (maximum length encryption).
Which provides an maximum input of 159 characters before encryption, resulting in a 236 character long hash.

It's made possible with Javascript, so everything is happening local.
GitHub: https://github.com/brix/crypto-js/tree/release-3.1.2

I haven't made the first encrypted transaction message via the website yet.
Probably will later. Smiley

I had issues making clipboard button cross-browser compatibility with legacy support. So I have not missed this, I just wasn't happy with the current outcome.
Regarding the possibility to download the web page and run on other machines which are not connected to the internet, is also something I have in the pipeline.

That pool (http://mining.securepayment.cc) is out-of-sync.

The following pools seems to be up-to-date. (please note that I have not used or tested them)

Also I don't speak Russian.*

Hi there! Can someone clarify the situation? joulecoin block chain is displayed with a large lead, and on the pool is behind by a lot, my transactions are not visible absolutely in the network,and on the pool they are. Or am I misunderstanding something?

I don't know which pool you use. Unfortunately some pools have a tendency to get out-of-sync (chain-split).

If you use the latest version of Joulecoin Core - 0.10.4.2, or visit https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xjo/ you can check the correct block height.

Currently nothing seems out of the ordinary.
You could try solo mining for greater accuracy.*

Have been quite busy the last couple of days making a new site for Joulecoin.

It's mobile friendly and is tested in IE 11, Firefox and Chrome.
I haven't been able to test it on a mac computer with Safari (since I don't own such hardware).

I will try to add content as I have time. Next thing I plan to add is documentation.

I hope our small community likes it. Smiley

Presenting: https://joulecoin.info

Regarding domain choice, I was unable to get in contact with joulecoin.org owner. It would have been great if e.g. joulecoin.com and .org could represent Joulecoin Project.

The blockchain seems to be picking up nicely and seems to be heading back on track.

It is however a portion of users still using the 0.9.X.X version of Joulecoin with out-of-sync blockchain data.
But I guess it is mainly servers, which will update in time.

Anyone having issues to deposit joulecoins on Cryptopia? It seems like they are in another blockchain. Cryptopia blockchain is ahead but that blockchain is not the same we can find here:

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xjo/

It seems like they are using another version of the coin maybe?

from coininfo on cryptopia they are using an old wallet version (0.9.2.5).

the possible chainsplit occured 2 weeks ago.

I've sent them a supportticket, but currently no further actions have been done.
so if you are missing your coins, open a ticket too

I hope it gets resolved soon.

UPDATE:
I sent them a message as well.

Cryptopia wallet have now been placed in maintenance mode and is awaiting update.

I'd like to see a Joule project based on the transaction comments.

Hey there!

I'm building something which takes advantage of certain features among a handful of selected currencies.
There is still lots of testing left to do and probably won't be available until later this year.

All Joulecoin has to do is keep looking good and receive those steady updates.

Didn't plan to say anything until I was finished but, as of this moment it looks like it's going to take a little bit longer than expected.

Hello.

Been investing on and off, and there seems to be copies/forks all around at the moment.
Particularly the masternode and proof of stake hype.

I've been watching Joulecoin for some time, how many developers are still active?

I have seen JohnJoule who has been doing updates and maintenance from time to time.

Is there any forum or slack channel I'm unaware of?
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MAG] X11 POS/POW+Masternodes MAGNET / magnetwork.io on: January 11, 2018, 03:55:49 PM
Just saw an announcement in telegram, is it true soon MAG will be list in OKex?

It would be great if you could take a screenshot or share a link.

I'm very active in the slack channel, and I have not seen any such statement there or anywhere else.

However, there is a plan to get listed on another exchange in the beginning of this year.
30  Bitcoin / Project Development / insight-api, dump addresses with positive balance on: January 02, 2018, 06:37:27 AM
Hello!

I'm not experienced with leveldb, insight or nodejs.

I have the latest https://bitcore.io/ up and running with insight-api.

What I'm trying to accomplish is to get all addresses with a positive balance in JSON.

E.g:
Code:
[
{
"address": "152f1muMCNa7goXYhYAQC61hxEgGacmncB",
"satoshi": 9444791124
},
{
"address": "152f1muMCNa7goXYhYAQC61hxEgGacmncB",
"satoshi": 12615867764
}
]
I understand that this is not optimal, and it is not for production use.*

I have tried using this parser https://github.com/SynRgTechnology/InsightParsers, but I'am unable to get it working correctly.
I opened an issue about it in the GitHub repository.

But to be honest, it shouldn't be that difficult to parse the db without any extra packages, since everything is already organized by insight.

If anyone have a working implementation, I would be very grateful if you could share it.

Thanks.
