21  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Lightning Network releases Mainnet support for Bitcoin and Litecoin on: March 17, 2018, 03:01:13 PM
Lightning Labs released the Lightning Network (LN) version of the application on its main network yesterday and described it as a milestone. If you do not know yet, the Lightning Network is a network of research that addresses Blockchain's weaknesses such as scalability, transaction fees and transaction speed.

In a blog post, Lightning Labs, which has a Lightning Daemon tool that makes it easy for developers to connect to LN, describes their product as having "the necessary security, security, and features." Avoid the bugs that are required for real-world applications with real money.
Yesterday someone mentioned this on BTT and I was like prove your words. after an hour i saw the news on coindesk. Really Really amazing news this is but the market couldn't pick up this news to make a bullish run.
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: GOOGLE AND FB BAN ON ADVERTISMENTS on: March 17, 2018, 02:49:58 PM
in my view this is good for the Crypto-currency world. Most scam projects coming by advertisements , so the people caught . after the ban definitely the users willing to go Ranked websites. As an example if you want to invest ICO , definitely now you check with a Ranked websites like ICO bench , ICO drops etc.

NOw filtered the scams, anyway this is good action. this ban means they indirectly supporting the Crypto currency future
You are absolutely right. Google and FB ads made scam coins make easy money. this decision by both companies is good.
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The fate of Ripple now depends on the decision of the court in New York on: March 17, 2018, 02:43:59 PM
If lost Ripple, Ripple will be paid to the company a lot of tokens, so this will cause the market panic, make a lot of people selling XRP, it really is not a good thing for the XRP.
not just ripple but all the crypto world together i guess.
24  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Is bitcoin going down again? on: March 17, 2018, 02:13:52 PM

25  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Anonymity on: March 17, 2018, 10:42:05 AM
Most probably most of us knows Bitcoin as anonymous or Bitcoin is one of the anonymous way in order to do transactions online because you don't know who's behind of that address and they don't also know you. I've read in differents thread here in the forum saying that the "good thing about Bitcoin is because you can do transaction without knowing your identity."

But to tell you what, Bitcoin uses blockchain to record the transaction chronologically and publicly. So in other words you can be tracked using your transaction history in the blockchain. Maybe we don't the person behind the address but if they insist to track you down until you withdraw it to fiat there's a chance that they can track you. The list below are the advantages and disadvantages of writing down transaction in blockchain.

Advantages:

  • You can check the transactions confirmation and other information such as the quantity of bitcoin you've send or received.
  • You can use it as evidence that you already paid or received.
  • It can never be deleted.
  • Incase you've been scammed you can track him. (But you it needs a lot of work)

Disadvantages:

  • They can track you using your transactions via Blockchain
  • The transaction is not that much anonymous

What i'm pointing out is that most of the users of bitcoin thought that bitcoin is so anonymous and I want to clarify that for me it's not. So i post it here to know what's your opinion and perspective in regards with with bitcoins anonymity.

PS. All of the stated above are just according to my own perspective.
I just want to share my opinion as well as my perspective in regards with this topic.

In a modern day where every exchange has KYC process and your address has an identity . so bitcoin was used for anonymous transaction previously now you can use other cryptos like monero , zcash etc
26  Other / Off-topic / Re: How wars can affect Bitcoin? on: March 17, 2018, 04:20:17 AM
While commenting on one of threads over here. A really interesting thought popped into my mind. What will happen when there will be coming a huge war?
Even a World War III? Will Bitcoin pump or dump? What role will Bitcoin play? We all know the economy and the currencies are very vulnerable in wars.
I would like to hear some interesting thoughts, even maybe some full detailed articles? Anything would be very welcomed.
Keep bitcoin aside, if world war III really happens then there will be no one alive to use those bitcoins. Let's assume the war is live. all the countries will strive to save resources for future like food, water, electricity and countries will have a military rule which may stop bitcoin mining. without miners, bitcoin transactions don't work and become obsolete
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin updates! on: March 16, 2018, 06:38:53 AM
1. The lightning network (beta) is released.
2. Abra launched derivative trading based on the Litecoin blockchain.
3. Litecoin 0.16 is released.
I believe these will have a huge impact on Litecoin.

Evidence: https://twitter.com/SatoshiLite
That's amazing news for Litecoin . Hope market turns green with some good news like this.
28  Economy / Speculation / Re: Expect price to go up or price down? on: March 16, 2018, 06:06:12 AM
I guess bitcoin will be stable at 8000 - 9000 range for atleast few coming months.
29  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Future of bitcoin in 50 years? on: March 15, 2018, 01:04:38 PM
if it's 50years I'm sure that the price bitcoin is high and that many people know it and it's more difficult than life and maybe it's going to be the money of people in the world so it's better to hold and just buy a bitcoin

I dont think thats the case if Google has the same throttle developing quantum computers then very soon i mean in next 4-5 years bitcoin will be obsolete. if you dont know why read it here : https://hackernoon.com/why-bitcoin-fears-quantum-computers-and-iota-doesnt-697da531a11b
30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Future of bitcoin in 50 years? on: March 15, 2018, 01:00:35 PM
50 Years is too long to speak about it. one thing i could say is bitcoin will definitely die by then if quantum computers have come.
31  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens with the cryptocurrency? on: March 15, 2018, 12:58:05 PM
Who can explain what happens in the market of cryptocurrency is available? For what reason bitcoin and other major currencies so much go down? there is a logical explanation?
Google Banning ICOs and cryptocurrency paid ads made this dip last day, similar dip happened when Facebook banned icos and cryptocurrency ads on its platform. This is just temporary , there is a hell lot of future for cryptos coming up

33  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is going to be number one payment gateway in near future. on: March 13, 2018, 07:11:45 AM
I don't think bitcoin can replace traditional payment gateway .. but other altcoins can do that... that's mainly because bitcoin needs 6 confirmations which in average takes 30 mins .. ranging from 12 mins to 1669 mins
here is the average confirmation time for last 30 days

so one cannot wait that much time waiting for their order to confirm
34  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who controls the Bitcoin system? on: March 13, 2018, 07:02:25 AM
No one controls it as it is decentralised and was created for the sole reason not to depend on anyone ... yet developments in bitcoin are controlled by a set of people you can find here : https://github.com/orgs/bitcoin/people
35  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Lost or Stolen Bitcoin, please advise on: March 12, 2018, 12:25:20 PM
HI,

I am very new to Bitcoin. I have an account with Coinbase. While on line I tried to make a purchase, I sent the Bitcoin to an address for deposit. The Bitcoin went through the address and has bounced around, a total of 1106  confirmations to be exact.. When I track it, it says spent at the last address. I came across the vendor on another site, I spoke with him and he said it wasn't his address. But he would work with me.

Is it possible to get my Bitcoin back? I would be happy to pay a bounty in Bitcoin if I can get it back.

Thanks!
This happened with me during my initial days dealing with bitcoin and ethereum ... unfortunately you cant get them back
36  Local / India / Re: Can Zebpay become coinbase, binnace of INDIA!! on: March 12, 2018, 12:13:50 PM
Only after JioCoin is launched, crypto currencies will be legalized in India.
JioCoin is a myth ... There is no such coin going to come from the company itself
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Vs Bitcoin on: March 12, 2018, 12:04:50 PM
Are there more Ethereum users compared to Bitcoin users.. From values I can find online it seems there might be more Ether wallets compared to Bitcoin wallets.
what are your suggestions?
I think bitcoin has highest userbase and ethereum has highest developers on its platform and Dapps might have highest userbase .. what rubish i'm talking...
wait let me tell you.
Bitcoin - highest userbase/
Ethereum has many tokens built on it like EOS,TRON,VeChain,OMG,etc sos combining all of them definitely ethereum might have high userbase
38  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Only Bitcoin or diversify? on: March 12, 2018, 11:50:10 AM
This one i guess is quite simple to the most of you. Recently i am kinda feeling that the smart thing to do would be stop growing my portofolio and start to look bitcoin as the only crypto investment for me. Just want to now your opinions on this because besides forums i cant really discuss this matter, let me know.
never put all your eggs in one basket.
it is very risky to have only one cryptocurrency in your portfolio.
But Bitcoin is godfather, so can risk your money on that. but to stay safe better invest in other stable crypto currencies as well
39  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is this real? on: March 12, 2018, 11:45:36 AM
We Need To Shut Bitcoin And All Other Cryptocurrencies Down. Here's Why.

Last week I wrote an article on illicit cryptomining – how hackers are sneaking cryptocurrency transaction processing software onto corporate networks, personal computers, and other devices. I attempted to raise the alarm, calling this threat the most dangerous of 2018.

I didn’t go far enough.

Upon deeper reflection, the implications of illicit cryptomining are profoundly frightening. Because this type of cyberattack is ‘relatively’ benign – for certain definitions of ‘relatively’ – it’s positioned to run amuck, taking over computers, networks, data centers, and cloud environments around the world.

Perhaps there’s a way to stop this insidious infection from killing its host, which is nothing less than the global computing infrastructure. To be sure, cybersecurity vendors are already on the job.

In my opinion, however, prevention and mitigation technologies will never work well enough. There’s only one way to slay this beast. We must make all cryptocurrency as we know it today illegal.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/jasonbloomberg/2018/03/10/we-need-to-shut-bitcoin-and-all-other-cryptocurrencies-down-heres-why/#496e47a51bca

As I read the article it seems that he is concerned on criminals and terrorist using crypto currency mining to fund their disgusting activities. Well that maybe true but that is a bias way of reporting it because there are also legit miners all around the world. Also Before Crypto currency there are already terrorist that are using FIAT does it mean we need to stop using FIAT as well.

you just spoke my brain
