21  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can we ever have Bitcoin without tons of drama and BS? on: March 19, 2017, 06:42:17 PM
No, it lies in the nature of Bitcoin to bring drama. It is a new decentralized technology, with people supporting it for different causes and having different visions. Those things bring drama and conflict. And as others have said, adding money to the mix doesn't make it better.

On the other hand, it might not necessarily be that bad. Conflicting ideas mean competition, which could help Bitcoin evolve. Or it could also be its downfall, as the community gets too divided and no one works together. Only time will tell.
22  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Is it really safe to use Electrum? on: March 19, 2017, 04:41:58 PM
Electrum is open source, that means you (or anyone else) can check the source code and see exactly how the program works. Therefore, if the private keys were to be stored on centralized servers, someone would likely take notice. So it should be safe. But if you really don't trust it for whatever reason, you could always stick to Bitcoin Core.
23  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: March 19, 2017, 12:55:21 PM
perhaps a few suggestions to get a free bitcoin, why not be done within 30 minutes of each roll and I think that 60 minute wait was quite long ..

Probably it isn't economically feasible. Being able to get free bitcoins every 30 minutes would mean the owner would have two pay twice as often, i.e. twice the expenses (unless the payout is simultaneously decreased, but I do not think we want that). I recommend just doing something else in the meantime. If you want to get bitcoins there are other things that will earn you a lot more, like freelancing for example (provided you possess some kind of skill people are prepared to pay for).
24  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you save bitcoin for fun or for future purpose? on: March 19, 2017, 11:48:19 AM
To be honest, I haven't really reflected on why I have Bitcoin saved. Maybe it mainly just that I want to see what happens with it in the future. If it succeeds then it'd be cool if I were a part of it from early on (and of course it would be nice to make some profit). If it doesn't succeed, well, it won't be the end of the world. So, mainly for fun I think.
25  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is taxation theft? on: March 19, 2017, 09:56:34 AM
I wouldn't say so. Sure, I live in a country with very high taxes, but on the other hand it feels like the majority of my tax money goes to good stuff.

I have access to free healthcare, free education (heck, I even get monetary support from the state while studying) and I feel safe walking around any part of my town at any time of the day. Also, I do not have to worry about becoming homeless as we have a social security net.

Sure, there are both cons with taxes and problems with my country, but in the end I actually think I benefit from the high taxes.
26  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Free Bitcoin Scammer Sites on: March 19, 2017, 09:45:50 AM
When I was new to Bitcoin, I remember investing in a Bitcoin dice website. The website, however, shut down without notice some months later, not allowing me to withdraw my funds. Fortunately, it wasn't any large amounts, and I learned a valuable lesson to be careful with whom I trust.
27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how has your attitude to bitcoin changed the longer you've been into it? on: March 18, 2017, 10:27:29 PM
I first got into Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies to make money (it was around the time Bitcoin reached over 1k USD for the first time). I tried my chances in trading, making some bad choices and some good ones (I made a profit in the end, although no particularly significant amounts of money). As time progressed, however, I became more and more interested in the technology behind it. I remember becoming fascinated by how it was possible to make a decentralized system such as this.

The last year or so, I've started to appreciate the anonymous nature of the network. I have become more aware of all the online tracking, and it is frankly something that I do not like. Even when paying for completely legal things, I do not like the idea of someone else being able being able to see all my transactions directly linked to my name. Therefore I have tried to stick to Bitcoin (along with cash and PaySafeCard) when paying for things.
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is mining on a gtx 1080 profitable on: March 18, 2017, 08:13:20 PM
Bitcoin mining definitely won't be worth it, but altcoin mining might (depending on electricity costs)
29  Other / Off-topic / Re: Help! Improving English through chat on: March 18, 2017, 07:30:52 PM
There are many members who are not able to speak English fluently as i can see. So am i. I am also facing some problems sometimes.

It is very much important to have a good knowledge about English to achieve a proper part of this Bitcoin forum. So i wanted to know, is there any option or group or something like that from where i as well as those who are weak in English can get a chance to improve it? It would be so helpful to post in the forum also.
If the group is forum based, then it would be best.

Yes. It is called school, maybe you should've finished that.. That is the place to learn english. Not here.

This is a bitcoin forum, meant to learn new things and share thoughts about bitcoin.

No need to be so harsh. Perhaps they did not have very much English in school, or he/she is currently attending school and want to learn some extra English, or whatever. Point being, you do not know OP's situation, so you don't have to judge him.

OnT: I do not know of any such group or chat, but simply reading and writing English will help increasing your proficiency in English. Being active on this forum (or other forums in English) will help you develop your skills, and I can also recommend getting reading a book in English.
30  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: March 18, 2017, 05:11:18 PM
hi is it lottery of FreeBitco.in legit or scam

me i think not legit

Even if it is legit, the chances of winning are abysmal. If you want to gamble, you are better off using a renowned dice site.
31  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: IPv4-search on blockchain.info what does that mean ? on: March 18, 2017, 04:36:41 PM
AFAIK, no actual IP addresses are stored in the blockchain. The IPv4 addresses that you can find/search for on blockchain.info only seems to be the address of whatever node that relayed a transaction to blockchain.info (most likely not the IP of the actual sender or receiver, merely the IP of a random node in the Bitcoin network). I'm not 100% sure though, so don't quote me on this.
32  Local / Skandinavisk / Re: Varför finns ingen svensk bitcoin exchange? on: March 18, 2017, 04:28:14 PM
Jag har inte använt någon av dem själv, men borde inte Safello eller bt.cx fungera? Du kan ju även använda LocalBitcoins för att köpa direkt från någon annan.
33  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [ANN] OrangeBits - Faucet and unique faucet rotator on: December 06, 2015, 10:59:22 AM
I'm sorry, I've been busy with RL stuff and haven't had the time to maintain the faucet. It may or may not come back in the future, but for now consider it dry.
34  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [ANN] OrangeBits - Faucet and unique faucet rotator on: November 30, 2015, 02:40:30 PM
I wasn't expecting so many users, so as you might've noticed it went dry. I have increased the delay to 1440 minutes (still with the same rewards), and it will be refilled shortly.
35  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Satoshi Faucet on: November 26, 2015, 08:33:28 PM
Good faucet (although a bit low paying), I've added it to OrangeBits
36  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Startup faucet on: November 26, 2015, 07:59:39 PM
Yes, that is quite good rewards
37  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: What is the fastest someone has earned 1 BTC using faucets? on: November 26, 2015, 07:30:36 PM
I guess I've made maybe 0.01 BTC or something like that just from faucets, and that is a lot of clicking already.
38  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [ANN] OrangeBits - Faucet and unique faucet rotator on: November 26, 2015, 05:24:06 PM
I am quite busy with school during the weekdays so I don't really have the time to check that all the faucet information in the rotator is up to date, so if you would happen to spot anything incorrect, a faucet that has run dry or any other problem, I would be thankful if you could say it.
39  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [ANN] OrangeBits - Faucet and unique faucet rotator on: November 25, 2015, 06:42:10 PM
The faucet got more popular than I anticipated, so I've been forced to increase the delay to 600 minutes. Ads and rewards will remain the same for now, though.
40  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [ANN] OrangeBits - Faucet and unique faucet rotator on: November 24, 2015, 05:43:02 PM
I like the faucet, easy to use and without all the nonsense like anti-bots links and other completely meaningless things.I hope it will stay like this, keep up the good work Smiley

I will never add extra anti-bot stuff, or spam it with ads (if needed, I'll add at most one or two more ad spaces). However, I do not have quite enough data to see if it is economically sustainable considering the high rewards. It looks like it will be, but I can't say for sure yet.
