21  Economy / Gambling / Re: ApopheniaBTC - Bet and solve the challenges to win BTC. on: December 15, 2013, 02:08:40 AM
I know the answer, but it isn't letting me bet.

It is telling me:
"There is come technical problem and we cannot serve your bet right now. Please try again later."

Where am I supposed to be sending the bitcoins.  All I see is "Answer" and "Send pot to"

im still asking for 2 way bets parlays on 1 game. ie: Ravens vs Steelers Over 40 and Ravens -2.5 ....not sure why u cant do both

Because there is a correlation between those two events happening.  NO sports book will ever let you do that parlay... ever.  You can certainly place 2 separate bets though.

Guttenberg's printing press definitely needs to be on this list.

Well this is an awesome scheme... you'll be right roughly half the time, and hopefully some of those people will tip you.  All you need to do is flip a coin.
28  Economy / Gambling / Re: New games added to Bitwin casino, FREE CREDITS FOR NEXT 10 USERNAMES!!! on: November 17, 2013, 07:48:30 AM
the "house edge" of yours is an irrelevant number. since your casino cannot possibly lose money, it is unfair. If i make a bet on a coin flip for 10 BTC and your casino only has 5 BTC, I cannot win under any circumstance. Your casino has 0% odds, not 98% with the only leeway being that the casino occasionally lets you win when there's already a profit for the casino.

Agree 100%.  Casinos are supposed to make money because of the Strong Law of Large Numbers, not because it is rigged.  Casinos are still supposed to have some risk, but they can almost always cover it with a high enough bankroll and proper betting limits; what your site does is cheating plain and simple.

Thanks, this is an awesome promotion.  Are you guys thinking of having something like this fairly often?

30  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Time Series Analysis Project on: November 15, 2013, 10:00:01 PM
Is this for high school or college?

(also by the way, the answer to your question should be no.  If you can reliably predict BTC prices, then you can very soon be a rich man)
31  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How did you get into bitcoins? on: November 15, 2013, 09:50:44 PM
It's always fun investing in new technologies.  I also lean pretty heavy on the libertarian side, so Bitcoin was right down my alley.  I also had to pick them up in time for this college football season.  Wink
32  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What will we see first? BTC=$300? or BTC=$500? on: November 15, 2013, 09:32:44 PM
It's looking very likely that it will hit $500 sometime in the next week.  After that, if BTC gets down below $300 it it probably for some actual reason --such as government regulation-- and not just random market fluctuations.

Of course this is just my prediction and isn't really based off anything.

I think it might just be for newbies.  If someone could clarify that would be helpful as I just ran into this same problem.
34  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: When would you call bitcoin stable? on: November 15, 2013, 05:49:12 PM
A good measure of stability would be the variance and range of BTC over a certain amount of time.  But as of now we are seeing very dramatic changes in such short periods of time, so we are still obviously quite a while away from any stability.  (Nor would we necessarily want stability in this early phase of the currency)
