21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The big VTC Vertcoin settings thread on: February 05, 2014, 12:04:14 AM
MSI R9 270X GAMING

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
vertminer --scrypt-vert -o stratum+tcp://vtcpool.co.uk:3333 -u useyourworker  -p useyourworkerpw  -w 256 -I 19 -g 1 --thread-concurrency 12288 --shaders 1280 --gpu-engine 1100 --gpu-memclock 1500 --lookup-gap 2 --remove-disabled --temp-target 75 --auto-fan --auto-gpu --gpu-fan 20-75 --temp-cutoff 85 --temp-overheat 78 --temp-target 73 --gpu-powertune -20 --gpu-vddc 0.000

hashrate 220KH/S

I have a Sapphire r9 270x but just can't get over 75 kh/s without HW errors.
It's strange I can't set a thread concurrency over 1024. I thought TC was a multiple of the shader count. My gpu has 1280 shaders and I can't even set thread-concurrency=1280 ?
It gives me "Error -61: clCreateBuffer, <padbuffer8>, decrease TC or increase LG"
I'm on windows with the modifed cgminer 3.7.2
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The big VTC Vertcoin settings thread on: February 04, 2014, 07:30:54 PM
R9 270x -->205KH
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
.... -g 1 --lookup-gap 2 -w 256 -I19 --auto-fan --temp-target 84

No HW and no thread-concurency needed, default timings Wink

not for me, hashrate shown is ~200 kh/s with those flags and default settings in afterburner, but all I'm getting is a rapidly increasing number of HW and no accepted shares. Also overclocking this just got me a bluescreen
I'm using the modyfied cgminer from the main thread
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The big VTC Vertcoin settings thread on: February 04, 2014, 07:01:17 PM
I'm currently testing on an r9 270x.
Can't get a hashrate over 90 kh/s and WU: ~80/m without a massive number of HW
anything over intensity 10 only produces HW and anything over thread-concurrency: 1024 will give me error -61 and the miner won't start at all
my current conf:
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 200

"scrypt" : true,
"gpu-engine" : "1140",
"gpu-memclock" : "1500",
"intensity" : "10",
"gpu-threads" : "2",
"thread-concurrency" : "1024",
"lookup-gap" : "2",
"worksize" : "256",

produces only 75 kh/s stable  Embarrassed
for the usual scrypt coins, I'm getting around 450 kh/s so 75 just seems too low, pls help

the poolnetworkpool reports 46.5 Mh/s of a total net rate of 59.9 Mh/s, yet hasn't got a block from the last 30 blocks found (about half an hour)

edit: seems now it did find blocks after all, web front end just didnt show them for a while

Really fast exchange, I like it.
I have one problem, though: I requested a (small) BTC withdrawal but my mail provider seems to be down, so I can't confirm (or decline) it.
What happens in this case, will the BTC automatically be restored to the coinmarket wallet after a certain amount of time has passed?
account name is neqvac

pool recommendations:

http://42.forkpool.com/index.php
http://p2pool.org:4242/static/

both have not let me down as of now, both could use some additional Mh/s

also, using the automatic payout function is advisable

http://p2pool.org:4242 was up the last 12 hours at least, yet not many seems to want to mine there, only 178 MH/s atm

had connection problems to all the other pools I tried today, except p2p

Petition to call 0.00000001(42) a dent (instead of a satoshi), after Arthur Dent.

How should we call subdivisions of this coin? One "micro-fourty-two" / "nano-fourty-two" doesn't sound good.
How about 10-9 [42]= 1 Beeblebrox / 10 -6 [42] = 1 KiloBeeblebrox etc

I was pushing for 1 Beeblebrox as a basic unit earlier, but any reference to a character from the books would be nice so +1

I had problems compiling this wallet on ubuntu 13.10., it gave me a fatal error: miniwget.h not found. (package miniupnpc is installed)
Compiling with option "USE_UPNP=-" solved the issue, however, don't know if not having upnp could lead to problems in some way or another.

For compiling the qt client I also had to change $(SUBLIBS) in the Makefile of the main dir, since it links mingw libs which gave me errors.
changed it to:
$(SUBLIBS)  -L/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu -Lc:/deps/boost_1_54_0/miniupnpc -lminiupnpc -lrt -LC:/deps/boost_1_54_0/stage/lib -Lc:/deps/db-4.8.30.NC/build_unix -Lc:/deps/openssl-1.0.1e -lssl -lcrypto -ldb_cxx -lboost_system -lboost_filesystem -lboost_program_options -lboost_thread -lQtGui -lQtCore -lpthread

in case someone has similar issues

here is a list of coins you can mine and how much / day to expect with 336 mhash/s
http://www.coinwarz.com/cryptocurrency/?sha256HashRate=336&sha256Power=500.00&sha256PowerCost=0.1000&scryptHashRate=14.00&scryptPower=500.00&scryptPowerCost=0.1000&sha256Check=true&scryptCheck=false
1600 khash won't do much on any SHA-256 coin i know of
there are other coins more suitable for cpu-mining (primecoin, securecoin etc), just search altcoin forum

tried to post this in the appropriate thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=402667.0, but since I'm new I can't:

compiling noblecoin-src on lubuntu 13.10 gives me
fatal error: miniwget.h not found
miniupnpc is installed

I was able to compile the daemon with the "USE_UPNP=" option, however, subsequently trying qmake and make gives me the same error
any help appreciated

EDIT: with qmake option "USE_UPNP=-" it works, but still doesn't compile until  you change $(SUBLIBS) of the makefile to the correct linux libs (it assumes mingw)
Got it working now.
Can a client without UPNP support lead to problems?
