Would be nice to see what the price would be if cryptsy wasn't absolutely fubar'd right now. How do they manage this? I thought they got a bunch of new servers.

Wow, SBC is back on CoinMarketCap and it has dropped dramatically. Think this is because it was de-listed and people ran away?
Just about every alt has gone down since the times when SBC actually listed properly. The listing from before was from when BTC was actually still trading at $1k+, everything went down since then, just SBC sat up there with an innaccurate 0.40c + for a long time before they finally took it down because it wasn't updating. Now its back with an accurate price listing.

lol funny to see stable coin not dropping in value over the last 24hrs whilst every single other coin goes down 25%. Truly living up to its name . Well true that it didnt really drop in relation to bitcoin but the value of bitcoin dropped a lot so the actual USD value went down. Also if you are looking at coinmarketcap it hasnt updated the value in forever and is not accurate afaik. Not trying to be a downer just putting things in perspective here. Everything pretty much got killed the last 24 hours.

so why is the price going down and down guys? i am keeping the coin because it looked promising, but I would have made a good money by selling it 2 days ago Bitcoin got hammered today. I think as bitcoin goes so do the rest at this point.

That big .29 buywall way way above the going rate a while ago was certainly strange.
The reason for that is that the sell orders on SBC are super small and in turn volume near the current price is very small. Like if i wanted to buy 20k SBC i would have to pay 0.00035 which is nearly double the current market price. Theres only like 20BTC Volume between 0.0001 and 0.0005 It seemed to me that people were generating sell orders immediately in response to it though, large ones. The way the market was acting it seemed that he could have put it in much lower and sell orders would have popped up in response.

It would be nice if there hadn't been any premine in the first place. Even with it being provably unspendable it still is a target for a lot of FUD and people who just don't have a technical understanding are obviously going to be cautious as well. It definitely has an effect on the marketability.

I believe red is a very good color in China and tbh that really really should the be main target market.
|
|
|
1. It's red 2. It's an S 3. It has "horns"
To me personally its not problem at all but the USA is a very christian nation. Maybe the average christian would never associate these things, and China I'm sure could care less.

Maybe I'm just paranoid but I frequent lots of "alternative news" sites (which would probably be a target market)and there is a large segment of those communities which seem to be strongly of the christian persuasion and they may view a red coin with "horns" as related to the "mark of the beast" idea that gets tossed around in those sort of communities.
Like I said maybe I'm just paranoid and no one would see it that way. Honestly I personally think #2 looks way better and more professional but #1 is the super safe option.
I think maybe it being red is probably good among the chinese community as well. Thats indicates good fortune does it not?
What are we, living in the dark ages? Who cares what religious wackos think. If they are stupid enough to think a coin can be 'the devil' then it's unlikely they even know what virtual currency even is, they probably think the internet was created by satan as a device to waste away peoples lives by watching Youtube videos and such :p. Are we going to cater for religious nut jobs or are we going to keep out heads down, stay focuses and pick the design that genuinely looks the best and gives the most unique feel without it being 'too complex'? Good point, I'm probably overly paranoid about what a small segment of people would think. You're right.

I think I like option 2 but I think option 1 with no "horns" is safer.

Nah I just assumed that a lot of people here probably took hazards advice on Quark and SBC. The two seem to be going in opposite directions at the moment.
|
|

Wow Quark is low right now.

Anyone think there is gonna be some major profit taking soon? Some of you must be set to make a small fortune.

I guess we should have easily figured out it was too good to be true. I mean 1.74 BTC is like 1700 dollars. He'd go broke so fast paying that out to people. And how much could he have made off of each referral? Nowhere near 1700 I'm sure.
|
|
|
He would have to give out 1653 in bitcoin at current rate per person that reached level 30. I'm not sure how that could be worthwhile for him. I'm level 4 now so we'll see I guess.

Hi, I am new to the whole bit coin thing. I hope to use this board to be able to learn more about it. To do so I will need to be able to reply to messages of course. I am hoping this post will be considered substantial enough to take me off "newbie forum status". Thanks.
