21  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $1.99/GH/s, miners from $2.97/GH/s on: June 30, 2014, 04:10:20 PM
Right, At this point I want them to price match what is currently available on the market and refund the difference.  I'd rather have my BTC back than try to recover it with extra compensation hardware that just costs me more to run and to get set up.

I think 2 X2 compensation units per X1 makes it worthwhile.

IDK, its almost to the point that any compensation just isn't worth it.  Sure it may pay out more bitcoin after many months, but you still have to be able to run them.  If someone purchased 10 X-1's back in 2013, they were expecting .55 watts or even .75 watts at the wall (as that is what is still advertised on their website) which would be between 550 and 750 watts, now, for those same 10 X-1's, we are looking at each one using 120 watts ish (I think that's what it was), which would be 1200 watts total.  Now if you start adding compensation on to that, and for the sake of argument they really under deliver on compensation and only give 2x the number ordered, now you have 30 X-1's and are using 3600 watts of power.  That is a much bigger cooling bill, and you have to find some place that you can spread 30 of these things out (since they do not stack and their is no immediate design/plan to stack them), while still being able to supply almost 4 kw of electricity to the space.  It just isn't practical unless you want to pay for hosting, which seriously diminishes returns and guarantees no success of a positive ROI.

It says right on their site it ships with your order.  "PSU Ships for free if ordered with enough time to be shipped with your current order."

 http://minersource.net/products/black-arrow-prospero-x1-spare-psu-for-compensation-units-only

Our first units have been confirmed via Tracking to have left Black Arrow, ETA is Friday/Saturday/Monday depending on the UPS Express timing. Our next shipment is to leave BA Monday/Tuesday, that should comprise of the rest of Batch One, and almost all if not all of Batch 2 and 3. More information to follow.

None of these units have LCDs, I was informed they would be ready after the shipment next week.

I contacted customer support at minersource and received no response. When are you going to ship the compensation PSUs that I paid for over a month ago (May 14th)?

They are supposed to come with cables but who the hell knows what we will get.

So it looks like X1 units need a non-standard power cord. Anyone find a good price for these in bulk? Maybe we can get a USA groupbuy going, I am looking for at least 10 mattering what the X3s use.

Edit: unless USA orders come with one.
24  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: RED FURY Bitfury USB ASIC 2.6 Gh/s on: February 16, 2014, 02:43:15 AM
Not if you ever want to make your money back.  A single Red Fury at 2.2Gh/s (which is what they typically run at) will mine 0.0004 BTC per day at the current difficulty.

Is it worth buying a bunch of these for $90 USD each?

They do chart it on the site.  I could try to snag the value from that but it would be easier through the API.

Anyone know if it is possible to get or calculate the PPLNS Pool Luck via the API?

I spoke with eleuthria and the local math wizard organofcorti and they both confirmed there is no easy way to precisely confirm the pool luck, which is a deal braker for me.
I guess it is just a psychological barrier for me to join a pool, where I cannot verify one of the main factors that determine how much I earn.

USPS is really good at losing packages.  It's a good thing it was insured because it is probably gone.

I used them the other day and didn't have any trouble buying and withdrawing bitcoins after being verified.  You can read about my experience at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=348255.msg3859914#msg3859914
