amd`s better off showing off the gpu hashing power they got over nvidia who in their right mind would waste cpu wattage on those coins?

I think its the wrong question to put a price on value per coin, its more about its marketcap for its max amount of coins available. For now its still dependant on the success of bitcoin, more and more places are starting to accept them. Once thats a proven success you might see more acceptance of the other altcoins. There is nothing certain about anything yet though.

Most coins launched lately are pretty much pump and dump. Popularity has a great influence on a coin, aswell as the developers and the community around it. Since Doge was mentioned here before, its a fun coin i didnt expect it to make it but popularity won it over. Does it have a bright future? We dunno, sofar it has been pumped and dumped but its not over yet, it had alot of hype and still seems used. It could very well stay the coin of choice for the young crowds..
The way i decide if i like a coin or not: Whats the premine (if any), heavy premine means i stay away from it. Small amounts are acceptable for bounties/giveaways to promote the coin. But theres coins that overdo it and just become unworthy. Just the name of a coin can be important already, a good name helps in popularity which can result in adaption and a possible future for it. Does it have anything new to offer? Or is it just a clone. Most things have been done already so if your just cloning something why use that coin instead of established coins that offer the same? Who is making it, are the dev(s) dedicated. Devs are the driving force behind the coin, community are the ones supporting them but they aint the driving force behind it. And finally the specs of it (block time/amount/transaction times) matter too ofc.

any word/news on pool mining w/o having to find a block first? i mean the concept of the coin is still good but this keeps ppl away and when difficulty rises it will become impossible for new miners to solo mine and join the pool. There needs to come a solution for this..

yup missing payouts from it aswell, short period where they happened again but then nothing again while i continue to get shares on blocks.

What right does a bank have to deny me access to exchanges? Since theres nothing illegal happening in my pov they dont have the rights to ban it in countries in europe or us. China is different in the way that they are still trying to control the people, btc was a loss in control for them. I dont see that happening to the eu/us anytime soon unless they declare it being something illegal.

great pools! they do feel a bit off though, stratum seems to be reporting new blocks way more often then they are generated. At least if i can trust the getmininginfo from the molecule qt..

its one of the few coins i hold instead of sell cause i believe it will have a good future

I have a pool up in beta mode: http://mol.cryptohashery.comWhat is working: solving blocks What does not appear to be working: submitting round shares I was able to successfully solve a block using the pool as you can see on the Blocks page: http://mol.cryptohashery.com/index.php?page=statistics&action=blocksThe current version of stratum that supports quark does not appear to be calculating pool shares, but it is processing solved blocks. So, if you are interested in easily pointing a bunch of standalone miners at one place, you can use this pool and you will be in effect solo-mining. If it is not calculating share submissions and you find a block, you will receive the full block reward. The pool supports stratum and is currently setup with a 2% fee. See the getting started page to: Create an account, add your workers, download a CPU miner and point them at the pool: minerd.exe -a quark -o stratum+tcp://mol.cryptohashery.com:3111 -u Weblogin.Worker -p Worker password Just note that this is not functioning as a traditional pool at this point. You may not necessarily see that your miners are connected on the dashboard or what speed they are hashing at. You can trust what you are seeing in your miner. If you are connected, seeing new blocks from stratum and your hashrate is being reported in the miner, then you are definitely mining on the pool. I will post updates if we make any progress on share submissions. hope you can get the sharing working, otherwise theres not much point for me to give you 2% of my solomining is there ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Bct isnt the only forum out there you know.. launching it on a actual structured forum is a bad thing suddenly?
Ive seen the start and plenty of ppl have been mining it from the start, there was no premine involved.

we need a form of pooled mining for this with 6mins per block i dont think i got much chance of finding a block solo unless i get lucky (and i dont have much luck usually)

i think trick with those profit switching pools is to abuse the difficulty retargeting which doesnt adapt as fast to such sudden increases and leave again once its difficulty has risen to return later. Yet in the long run it doesnt seem to work all that well afterall, its more for the lazy cause profit wise you may just aswell mine some of the popular coins and sell at the right prices instead of autoselling. I used to foolishly just run into the top coin myself, but thats pretty much always shortlived since alot of ppl jump on it, several coins linger in the top half most of the time, pick one of those and long term you earn just as much as jumping from coin to coin all the time.

sigh.. solomining 550kh solo to get my first block and join the pool, first day no luck (1 stale ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) ) Hope theres something in the works to make the pooled mining easier. I like the idea of the coin but it cant be a success if its near impossible to mine solo and to pool mine you need to solo mine first.

guess i should post more but maybe i still have a chance, otherwise ill just hope to get lucky solomining (pool is down for a bit)
