21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Canadian Tire coin to exchange on: December 31, 2013, 12:55:17 AM
I have something like 3-4$ in Canadian Tire coin (very rare, mining has stopped years ago). I am willing to exchange for DOGE, BTC, LTC, Air Miles or Metro Point.

I also have about a million buck in Monopoly coin, but I've heard they haven't keep a good value. Any serious offers will be considered.

This thread remembered me why I don't post on forums usually. For those that have seen yahoo financial "disaster" message boards, horrible threads, horrible messages. People acting exactly like that. "This nameofthestock is going BK next week, it is worth only 0.1$!!!" or "This nameofthestock is going to at least 800$, it is undervalued at 5$".

READ THIS

There are retards who think they can sell 1million of them for 1btc.
There will be 4X more Moon Then Doge. Doge ( a well established coin now) can be had for 0.5btc/million. (2X less!)
So Is Moon really worth in 2-3hours since it was launched 8X as Much as doge? and give it market cap valuation of around  $100 million already? REALLY?

Well If you are really thinking about buying them for those prices - THINK AGAIN, you will loose your pants in next couple of hours when everyone Is finally aware about this and come back to senses.

100% true. Some people missed the boat many times and have some big dreams right now.

Without any actual exchange, people wanting to buy or sell will do it only for a significant profit. That explain the big spread between ask/bid. Why would someone buy MOON right now if not expecting a profit when it will trade on crypsy? I agree people should think twice before buying at such rate, but same goes for selling. I would buy MOON for DOGE at a 9:1 rate because I honestly expect to sell them at a higher price (I might be wrong), but I would sell my MOON at any price I don't think I could get later (because again, I'm at profit). Pease be honest, we are all here expecting to make more money Wink

25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Powering Many mining rigs on: December 04, 2013, 05:49:12 AM
I seriously searched for the place to talk about this, so I am sorry if it is not the right place (please move the topic in that case).

I am still a beginner in this world, but I am already planning the next step in my venture which is basically selling a fixed percent of my earning (10-20%) and use it the buy more equipements. However, I am currently wondering how to deal with the limitation of the power outlets (15 amp) and the noise being made by a mining rig (in my case, mining with 6 HD 7950, LTC mostly). So, I wonder, how you deal with many mining machines? Do you put one in each room of your house? Do you put some in the house of your friend (easy in winter, but don't know if they would accept in summer)?

I was thinking about paying a fee to each of my close friend to put a mining rig in their house. I would probably pay something like 30$/month is it too much? Not enough? Do you think it is a good idea?

EDIT: Sorry for my English. Also, when I said paying 30$ I mean + the electricity cost (which is around 70-80$ for a 6 HD 7950 rig).

Well...

now you would be spending $8500.
If you sell when it is at 950, you get $9250 right?

Did you earn money? Easy question to answer...

The question was:"Is it a viable way to make money". Your answer has nothing to do with the question. In theory, with FOREX you should be able to use that strategy to become millionaire, but in practice most investors lose money. Bitcoin might be easier, but get the wrong timing and instead of changing your 100$ to 10 000$, you'll end up with 0.02BTC and you'll have spent a lot of time.

I think it was a good idea. If cryptocurrency work a little like any stock, a too fast increase lead naturally to huge selloff. I do not think we will have to wait for long. The question is at what price will BTC settle next.. probably between 200-500, but it is only a guess for now.

In theory, this could work. But you have to be able to predict accurately the market direction to do so. I believe you are more likely to buy at a high price and ride it down to 300$ where it should settle in the coming weeks. If you want to do swing trade (that's how it is called in stock), you should buy when BTC is out of favor (when it gets beaten down) and wait longer for a good price. It is safer, and I believe your profit will be bigger (over a longer period).

Well, I do not have much to say for now on myself but since there is a restriction to post on the forum I'll have to talk a little bit I guess. As you probably already noticed, I am not an native English speaker. I live in Quebec and I ordered the hardware for my first mining rig today. I am quite excited about mining since I wanted to do it for a long time (honestly, didn't believe it would work for long back in 2011, so I invested in stock instead).

The rig I'll be building will use 6 Powercolor AX7950 (with double fan). I expect between 3400Kh/s - 4000Kh/s. I am willing to mostly mine LTC since it seems to be the safest bet. However, I'll also mine few other alternative coins to gamble (probably 5% of the time). I do not know if I'll be very active on this forujm, but who knows.

Thanks!
