I have already explained in my Decentralization topic thread, that Ethereum (and Bitcoin) are broken by a Tragedy of the Commons on the economics of mining. A miner which wins more block has less cost per verification of each script than the miners with less hashrate because the gas is either burned or paid to the winning miner. There was a long discussion about this which I won and so Ethereum is a dead man walking (or will end up centralized). Too many ignorant fools trying to speculate on shitcoins they don't understand. Here are the links the discussion I am referring to: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1319681.msg13577100#msg13577100https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1319681.msg13612172#msg13612172what are your main coins you see winning out in the long run?

I see 2 problems with NXT First there needs to be more marketing to grow the community Second there needs to be less circle jerking about CoinShuffle and more work on integrating the best anonymous technology available for SuperNet today, which is CryptoNote ( https://github.com/cryptozoidberg/boolberry/commit/14eba55b4a496f2f04f5ad33891fe9f172b7d3db). The API work has already been done on the BBR side. SuperNet needs to stop pumping NXT (Coinshuffle) and BTCD (telepods) and integrate BBR already. supernet and nxt are seperate entities. supernet utilizes nxt, but is developed by another dev team. its a cool project, but i dont see why the nxt platform should trust a third party to realize privacy. nxt is and will be used without supernet. why couldnt nxt just integrate cryptonote instead of coinshuffle?

Bitcoin Competitor NXT Version 1.7.4 Goes Live: Decentralized Data Storage, Coin Mixing, and More.Over the last few months, the entire Nxt community has been working on what will be one of the most important Nxt updates to date. Nxt version 1.7.4 will bring a selection of important new features to the Nxt protocol and client, as well as a number of smaller improvements and enhancements, including more regular block times... http://www.coinspeaker.com/2016/01/21/bitcoin-competitor-nxt-decentralized-data-storage-14912/ is there a video demo of it in action? too lazy to install the client. link to client?

People are stealing ETH tech... so how is buying the coin a smart move right now.... other than stealing their tech, limited speculation and limited commerce.....
ethereum is like a programming language that sits on top of the blockchain, but what stops someone from cloning ethereum and then just copying every single user created smart contract code into their platform and make it cheaper? aside from ethereum the platform being valuable, it depends on devs creating DAPPS inside the ethereum platform. and since the blockchain has to be transparent in nature, there's nothing stopping from someone else stealing someone elses hardwork in a dapp. once someone creates a dapp that is profitable, there will be many copy cats of it thats for sure. the lure of the smell of profits.... I see your point, but I don't completely agree with your reasoning. The same could be said about Bitcoin and Litecoin, but no one has been able to replicate their success for an extended period of time. Ethereum has garnered a network effect of its own as far as being the platform to build on when it comes to decentralized programming languages. It has also collected many interested developers and projects. Cloning its features does not automatically equal success. In fact, there are several coins that have implemented decentralized programming languages and have had little success, such as Crypti or all the coins that implemented automated transactions. I am not saying it's a good buy right now.. it has been pumped hard for two or three weeks. I did not participate in the IPO and have not bought any coins. I expect the price to come back down to earth eventually before purchasing. I buy and hold for long periods of time and am not interested in gambling to see if I can buy and sell before it comes back down. thats true you make a point with the other platforms like Crypti. it is the network affect that can potentially get ethereum to the mass developers. we all agree that you can't just copy a coin and expect the same results. But in the case of ethereum, devs are creating their own dapp on top of their platform. the users of these dapps would care less about what's under pinning it. users are coming for the dapp and not for ethereum. this is why i believe once a dev makes money on a dapp, the copy cats will follow and just use something cheaper unless the dapp has that much of a network affect that no other competitor can jump in. i guess you can look at it like torrent sites, you have pirate bay at the top and then all the other small niche torrent sites. same goes for the silkroads of the darknet. the users dont care what these sites are made with, be it ruby, php, nodejs, etc. there's going to much room for others to jump on this bandwagon of profitable dapps when the time comes. this is why i believe nxt is a really good contender in the long run. ethereum is great and all, but i fear for the transparent devs on top that could be the target of government agencies. imagine some anonymous dev created a silkroad dapp on top of ethereum. can you imagine who they are going to point the finger at when the time comes... ethereum as a public figure head and nxt doesnt... satoshi was smart to stay anonymous. just imagine if the bitcoin blockchain hosted a silkroad marketplace that sold drugs, you'd think gavin and the rest of those guys would still want to work on core code? its not worth the risk to be transparent when that time comes. and its not if, but when it comes and which platform best suited for it. -- my 2 bits of opinion

I have respect for some (former and active) Nxt devs (e.g. Come-from-Beyond and jl777), but I think they need to write better specifications. I have personally told this to jl777.
What you have above is very incomplete.
It is clearly incomplete. Outside developers mostly need the Nxt API documents, and they are easy to understand. The next big feature is child chains. There is no specification for that, but the developers seem to be able to produce working code without specifications. do you think they had this all planned out already?

Ummmm.. just made some time to install the latest nxt client. i'm still dumbfounded by why this isn't in the top 5... seriously, wth is wrong around here... i can forsee a decentralized piratebay torrent site arise out of this. ![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif) ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2Fkzrzezt.png&t=663&c=bt4B05vg5hz7Tg)

does anyone know if sling tv restricts you from using the account from multiple IPs?

|

Looking to buy Sling TV with the chinese Jadeworld Channels. These are the ones: http://prntscr.com/9pmbpu -- not every sling account has this as an extra, but some might. List your offers if you can find them. im willing to pay $20 for this account. you'll have to do some digging in order to find it. not all sling accounts have this extra package.

..and another one bites the dust.
Decentralized exchanges need to happen. Instantdex or Etherex, whoever, hurry up
it already happened... nxt asset exchange using supernet's multigateway. its just missing the marketing strength it needs.

the stuff nxt is doing is extremely under-marketed.... i've been following both nxt and ethereum since the beginning. most of us are basing these crypto's on their coin. should really look at the platform instead. honestly, i can't see anyone using either of the platforms currency for day to day purchases at its current state right now. keep in mind ethereum is still being developed and gaining traction among typical developers, but nxt is being developed in a way its more controlled. yes ethereum can do everything nxt can do assuming someone develops nxt's same features. But if someone was to replicate the asset exchange or marketplace on ethereum. nothing stops another dev replicating that exact same feature as another ethereum smart contract creating dilution and confusion. imo, i think the anonymous devs behind nxt is playing their cards right by waiting to compete with ethereum on the smart contracts. keep in mind ethereum's smart contract code is public, nothing stops another blockchain from cannibalizing ethereum's user generated smart contract scripts into another system once its been tested working. just a humble opinion.
nxt has an upcoming decentralized bitcoin mixer coming out end of the month. this is a pretty big deal. mixing your btc on top of another platform.

I think the cost of dismantle and reassemble would out weigh the cost of tax, it sounds crazy? I don't see how this could be profitable when you take into the chance of lost in transit and damaged parts
thats why its only worthwhile on expensive items and you price in these factors into the cost of selling the item. it depends on the premium that someone can sell for in their country.
