Novacoin is heavily premined (something around 200k I think).
http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=NovacoinThere is a lot of FUD, which comes from a few biased persons, like him (maplesyrupghost). They are spreading desinformation about 180k/200k/250k/(rand())k premine. It's obvious lie, such amount of coins simply didn't exist at the moment of this (i.e. troll's threads) threads publishing.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=282314.msg3042727#msg3042727NVC isn't more scamcoin than FTC or LTC. And you have nothing against this sentence.
Was NVC premined? Yes. Not just premined, but half of the premined coins were given to an exchange so they would accept NVC into their exchange. All premined coins have been destroyed. I have looked over the blockchain and noted the graphs here: http://www.cryptometer.org/novacoin_96_hour_charts.htmlFrom the research I have done it appears it is as Balthazar has stated all along. All premined coins were destroyed. There seems to be a lot of FUD going around about NVC at the moment. Balthazar is a great developer. NVC has widened the gap between itself and PPC over time by balthazars continued development. Look at github. Its a endless field of updates all for the better https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=143221.msg3730462#msg3730462I just recommend any new comers to Novacoin, or to alt-coin trading in general, to do at least do 1 hour research into NVC before saying the old tired stuff. Do you know what my first post about Novacoin was, 8 months ago? It was something along the lines of "Is NVC just the newest scam lol, what a joke" -- or something to that effect, check my post record if you don't believe me, maybe it was my 30th post (complete guess). But you know what? I jumped the gun like many others and accepted the prevailing bad press about Novacoin. This is in part because of all the scam/dumb coins that do exist, which makes people defensive, understandably. Novacoin is not one of those. I read up on it, Balt himself patiently addressed my own ridicule of the coin back then, and now 8 months later I can say come around 100%. I was wrong in my initial poor judgement NVC, and this changed after learning more about it. Just asking people politely to please read the facts (and not so much the press) and make your own judgement if you are new to NVC. Also consider the possibility that at least some of the people telling you it is such a bad coin could also just be trying to keep the price down for themselves. edit: here's the link to my own post. Just want to show how much I came around from my initial impression to my sincere liking of the design of this coin: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=171438.msg1783254#msg1783254==> Masaca is heavily paid (something around 200 LTC for each post I think).
![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Seriously, try to spend some time to create a reasonable lie instead of this copy&paste. "200k premine" is nothing more than ridiculous bullshit, it's something like "The Bible is written by Bill Gates". Ok I am sorry, I didn't knew that. I joined the cryptocurrency community a few weeks ago and informed me only a bit about Novacoin. There was an article saying that Novacoin is heavily premined. That was already enough for me to not trust this coin... I didn't knew that the coins were destroyed.

Novacoin is heavily premined (something around 200k I think). That's enough for me to stay away from this coin. But it's up to you if you believe in it or not. And as already mentioned you have to look at the market capitalization (price * current amount) http://coinmarketcap.com/ (currently #12).

What settings do you guys use for a 660 Ti (Asus OC)? I use: -l 70x2 -m 1 -C 2 but only 150kH/s.
cudaminer.exe -H 1 -i 0 -C 1 -D -l K14x16 -o stratum+tcp://coinotron.com:3334 -O cbuchner1.1:x
with some extra OC I get 210 kHash/s. Asus DirectCU II OC I am at 105 % TDP limitation, +100 MHz GPU Clock Offset, +300 MHz Mem Clock Offset. I use EVGA PrecisionX to overclock. Wow, thanks!!! Just tried it and I am over 200kH/s ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)
