21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When will ICOs die? on: February 23, 2018, 08:03:45 AM
I don't quite follow you. You mean die as in die??? No, I don't think so. More and more ICOs are coming out, and all these scammers and failures that surround it are the ones that are going to fade away. As it becomes popular and investors are hooked into it, we'll still be seeing them for a long time. Their future is bright for them, especially with all the good platforms they've been advertising.
23  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Are these billionaires controlling the BTC value? on: February 20, 2018, 01:36:33 PM
I wouldn't use the word "billionaires". I would probably use the word "investors". Yes, they are billionaires who are also investors, it's because when rich and popular people say something, the media get all over it. They have this influence on people who somewhat trust them. And with that influence, they now have the control of it. True, that these digital currencies are in a bubble. But it's up to us to remain invested not just in money but also in preserving the true meaning of investments.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it safe to participate in ICO's? on: February 20, 2018, 12:14:19 PM
According to the founder of Wikipedia, "ICOs can be an absolute scam". And he's right, it can be. So you've got to study them.
The offers may be "super-interesting" in your taste. That's why investing in such should take a lot of risks. After all, through these ICOs, the cryptographic tokens are sold to fund the bootstrapping and development of a new blockchain network.

26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is ICO ? on: February 19, 2018, 02:15:25 PM
I'm also new to this. I just read somewhere that ICO is when a cryptocurrency startup firm wants to raise money through this, it usually creates a plan on a whitepaper which states what the project is about, what need(s) the project will fulfill upon completion, how much money is needed to undertake the venture, how much of the virtual tokens the pioneers of the project will keep for themselves, what type of money is accepted, and how long the ICO campaign will run for. The fundamentals are pretty much about this. I hope this helps!
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does Chinese New Year Affect the Market?! on: February 18, 2018, 03:58:33 AM
I think it does in some sense because of Chinese people makes a lot of purchases. It is undeniably a fact that when the market plummets through January, in February it will rise up again. The Bitcoin price fell as low as $6,200 as many proclaimed the death of Bitcoin for the umpteenth time. However, Bitcoin is back at $10,000 and keeps climbing as the Chinese New Year approaches.
28  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin end? on: February 15, 2018, 12:27:16 PM
I am not sure that there's an answer to your question for now. Currently, its value is booming, meaning to say, it's up there. Mining is stable. The investors keep on coming. The different platforms and advertisements are doing what they gotta do. But just like any other 'trend', Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are basically the same. We just need to take care of its operation so that its value will not fluctuate down. It's just the second month of the year and if you're worried about the value of the coins, I suggest that you take it easy and relax.
29  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How did you first hear about bitcoin? on: February 13, 2018, 01:24:38 PM
I have first heard and learned Bitcoin from a few of my friends. They just keep on talking about this particular site and the behaviour of how Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies 'play'. I, at the beginning, have no interest or whatsoever to this. But, they insisted that I should give it a try. And here I am. Of course, they thought me how things work and all that technical stuff. I, for sure, still have so much to learn, and that's why I also read articles, paragraphs from an online book, and listen to their never-ending advice from them.
30  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin is not gambling on: February 12, 2018, 01:42:04 AM
Overall, it is not. But when you're looking at it in other perspectives, yes, it is. Some factors that contribute to Bitcoin and any other cryptocurrencies have a lot more gamble-esque type of scenarios, and I think that's what other people see it. We're talking about digital currency, a whole new upgrade of what we're used to. For me, investing and trading in or with it is a gamble. I mean, you're risking your money to maybe grow or not. That's one example of gambling.
31  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Media is negative about Bitcoin? on: February 08, 2018, 07:28:14 AM
Just like any other 'trend', Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies aren't far from them. You must know from the beginning that half of the media is washed up. They are being paid to tell lies on both national TV and their own news websites. This isn't new. Listen, the people that's behind every media oultlets are the worse kind. They believe in only what they want to believe. Let them bash for now. But don't worry because in the near future, we are the ones who's going to laugh at them.
32  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is it risky to turn all my money to bitcoins? on: February 08, 2018, 02:02:39 AM
Yes, not a doubt. It's like depending your life on Bitcoin, I mean, not that money is the only essential factor of our lives but it feels like it. I don't know personally anyone who risks all his/her savings from the bank to Bitcoin. I mean, that's just crazy. Matter fact, I don't think people will do it unless you'll be the first one. With all the coins that are fluctuating down right now, that's insanity. I hope you'll think this through and not make decisions fast.
33  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is changing the world. on: February 05, 2018, 01:54:48 AM
To us who are aware of the existence of Bitcoin, yes. But to those people who do not, no. "The secret of bitcoin lies in the underlying "blockchain" – a secure digital ledger on bitcoin networks that keeps track of bitcoins by recording every single transaction. It facilitates agreement by all parties as to who owns how many bitcoins. A bitcoin wallet holder will have an exact replica of the blockchain on the secure public bitcoin network, which virtually overrules any attempts of counterfeit."
34  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Too late to invest in cryptos if you're old? on: February 04, 2018, 12:26:36 PM
Oh no, not at all. Age is just a number. There's plenty of time. When I was just starting, I always thought only older people got into this business because they are sceptical, they know how things work, and they're definitely the most provident persons I've ever known. Y'all just need to learn the basics and you're good to go.
35  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Really The Future Of Money? on: February 04, 2018, 03:17:12 AM
Yes, I think so but we need to work together in order to preserve and maintain its current value. All other cryptocurrencies could achieve their ambitions, and become a widely used facet of daily life. There are numerous of ways of achieving it and we just need to find one solution.
36  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Book recommendations about cryptography? on: January 31, 2018, 04:44:21 PM
I was also doing that when I first got into this and still is. Fact is if you read or watch more about cryptocurrency, you'll learn so much.
I first got myself hooked on videos in different channels on Youtube. I clicked on every video that I see about Bitcoin, Ethereum, and such. I also happened to read a book, How Money Got Free: Bitcoin and the Fight for the Future of Finance by Brian Patrick Eha. Well, not all of it, but most of it. It is a really good book about the pioneers of Bitcoin; The twenty-first-century outlaws - cryptographers, hackers, Free Staters, ex-cons and drug dealers, teenage futurists and self-taught entrepreneurs. Overall, it's almost about the history of Bitcoin.
37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is It advisable to quit my present job for bitcoin? on: January 29, 2018, 05:34:38 AM
You know, I was browsing the News and found one article in The Guardian that says, "Bitcoin won't last in the world of finance, warns Nobel-winning economist." Of course, there would be risks entering into the world of cryptocurrency, especially from a guy like you wanting to quit your job to become a full-time investor on this. I'm not saying that it's not a good idea, but after reading the article, I reconsidered factors that concerns Bitcoin. Maybe you're not thinking straight or you're just out of your mind. But I need you to really think this through.
It's not a very stable store of value – it fluctuates a lot – and it’s not a very efficient medium of exchange because you don’t buy your groceries with bitcoin, you don’t get your salaries in bitcoin, and you certainly can’t pay your taxes with bitcoin.” But, maybe in the future, we will.
38  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is BTC for you? on: January 25, 2018, 01:12:47 PM
"Bitcoin is the currency of the Internet" -- This is true! Unlike any other currencies, these are issued and managed without any central authority whatsoever. I like the way Bitcoin works. It is fast, permissionless (you know what I mean), and do not require any ID. Imagine the next few years when Bitcoin will be the currency of the future. Always available 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. You can buy whatever you want and trade whenever you can. With banks, there are rules (and that's not bad) BUT, with Bitcoin and any other cryptocurrencies, this will all be limitless.
39  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Social Media Influence bitcoin growth? on: January 21, 2018, 05:46:16 AM
Yes, of course! Without social media, this cryptocurrency will not be successful as it is today. Social Media plays the biggest role in influencing the growth of community including its investors who continue to lead and trade. Advertisements from different sites also give a boost to the market. The "hype" that's surrounding this will forever maintain and us, community, hope to maintain it and also control what we started for.
40  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Too late to get involved into Bitcoin? on: January 21, 2018, 05:30:53 AM
With today's technology, it will never be too late. Remember that Bitcoin is completely decentralized with no server or central authority. It's a digital cash! As Caleb Chen from the London Trust Media says, "In the next few years, we are going to see national governments take large steps towards instituting a cashless society where people transact using centralized digital currencies. Simultaneously, the decentralized cryptocurrencies – that some even view as harder money – will see increased use from all sectors.” So, I don't ever think that it's too late to get involved.
