I honestly hated the idea of NXT and the likes at first. With the recent MtGox fiasco though it's becoming increasingly more apparent that we need ways to trade coins outside of exchanges. Keeping an eye on this.

What's this? The altcoin scene is so hard to follow now-a-days lol.

If Jollyburner doesn't want his 2 million from bosian I'll take it for my botched attempt at a logo. Hell I'll botch an attempt on a website or something for that amount.

So just for future reference, why is it that I'm getting the message "Pool 0 slow/down or URL or credentials invalid" when trying to solo mine?
My .conf file was in:
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\giftcoin
And had this in it:
server=1 listen=1 rpcuser=user rpcpassword=password rpcallowip=127.0.0.1 rpcport=8855 addnode=199.241.191.148:8855 addnode=71.233.50.143:8855 addnode=216.66.72.62:8855
And yes, I was running Giftcoin-qt.exe with the -server tag.
This was my .bat file:
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1 cgminer --scrypt -o 127.0.0.1:8855 -u user -p pass -I 11,20 --temp-target 77,80 --auto-fan --gpu-engine 900,1000 --gpu-memclock 800,1250 --queue 0 --scan-time 2 --expiry 2
Is that not correct?
you have to wait until the wallet fully syncs before launching your cgminer...maybe that was your problem. I figured it out. I was using rpcallowip= when I should have been using rpcconnect= I wonder why most solo mining guides don't mention rpcconnect (I just happened to see it in one of my many .conf files that I must have copied from somewhere)?

That source is likely fake.
Hopefully they release a QT wallet as I'm too lazy to deal with compiling one myself lol.

What happened to: Difficulty re-target time: 8 hours Anyway? The difficulty seemed to retarget pretty damn fast to me.

So are these people talking about mining and what not trolling or was the binary/wallet released privately somewhere?
|
|
|
So this is what they refer to as "Instamine" eh?

First, what is this supporter's bonuty that I keep seeing mentioned? I want to know if I'm eligible for it somehow lol. Second, what's all this in my transaction history (didn't notice it before)? Is it from the earlier POS/POW issues? (If you point at it, it says "Generated but not accepted")
|
|
|
So what's this supporter's bounty that it looks like I missed out on? lol

Lost $50 of BTC to Cryptsy just a few minutes ago. Placed a Buy Order for an altcoin, then canceled it after a few minutes. Now I have no altcoins and my BTC was never recredited to my account. Is this where the infamous "waiting" comes into play with Cryptsy or should I submit a support ticket?
I have read two instructions to handle this. One of them worked for me, the other I did not try. 1. Place an order too large to be filled. Cancel out of it. A. Place a tiny order. Then cancel it. I tried option 1. Thanks for the advice. I just received the BTC back without doing anything. Sadly it took over an hour and now the window to get into the altcoin I wanted is gone. Oh well, at least I know what to expect from Cryptsy from now on lol.

Yeah, my second design (logo #1) was nowhere near done. Hopefully I can get people to start giving feedback to improve it. I'm beginning to think people mainly like the center design of the original logo I found (basis for logo #2) over my simple 3 grain design. If that's the case, maybe in the future we can combine my new design and logo #2 to make the best logo ever lol.
I like your design too, the metallic view looks very professional Thanks. I'll not pretend I know what I'm doing, I'm just playing around in Photoshop until I like what I see lol. I really have no idea/inspiration for a background (do I want a texture? a color? dunno). I think if I can get the colors down (the right tone of gold, the right background, etc.) that it'll be liked much more than my current design. Props to Probeer once again though, glad someone was able to make something good from that previous design (and at a much faster pace than me lol).

Made a new version of my logo for fun. What features are better or worse about this one (is the border better or worse, which gold tone should I use, what background should I be going for, should I leave the grains hollow with a border or fill them in more, etc.)? Old New
