21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ICONOMI - Fund Management Platform on: November 11, 2016, 06:34:04 AM
Why have the developers made no attempt to list the ICN coin on Poloniex and Bittrex??
They didn't eh?  And where did you glean this information from? lol.

As silly as it may seem but i "gleaned" this information by asking Poloniex and Bittrex direcly about the addition of ICN to their site to which they both responded that the developers needed to contact them in order for this to occur.  When i then contacted the iconomi developers about this asking them why they had not approached Poloniex and Bittrex they confirmed they had not and also that they did not intend to approach them either and that it was up to us the community or ICN holders to convince Bittrex and Poloniex to host ICN on their exchanges.

Funny that hey!!??

It stinks if you ask me...
What? Hmm, of the 2000 people asking Polo and Bittrex, and Team ICONOMI, they always give peeps the same standard answers like "watch the notices box", and "we are under NDA and cannot discuss", yet somehow, out of the chaos, newb X gets a straight answer out of Polo, Bittrex, AND Iconomi?
I'm no spring chicken, and don't buy into this easily.
By the way, "NDA" means Non Disclosure Agreement", and if they did indeed tell you that, they are in violation of that agreement.
All because you are special and emailed when hundreds of others already did the same?
Do you know how impossible this sounds?

I just got a straight answer -  probably they didn't get the BS NDA memo you refer to.

This so-called NDA sounds like a load of drivel devised to hide the real motive of those on the inside purposefully not wishing to list ICN on major alt coin exchanges. Thus ensuring that prices tank due to relative illiquidity so that they can pickup more tokens cheaply from desperate investors who see the price moving further south with each passing day.

Either way - it still stinks!

No my point is they could of managed the bounties better by putting caps on translations... The russian translator was probably having conversations with himself their were over 5000+ people talking in the russian thread if i remember correctly but only 3000+ people invested in iconomi.. so obvisiously something doesn't add up there... they were happy to give away free icn of course from bounty that could of gone to something else.. I was a founder too btw and as a founder i think we should have a say in how funds are spent to some extent especially since these guys don't seem to know the crypto world very well so far.. or they do and thats why this thing is starting to "stink" more by the day like a huge scam they either did intentionally or didn't research got in over their heads in which case tai zen is right and they are violating sec laws.. which is the only reason i see for no polo or bittrex add.. maybe kraken made mistake and soon delist who knows.. if this is how they think investing works good luck with their performance funds haha.. they are not going to get the fiat world buying icn the fiat world is barely interested in btc.. to any hedge fund manager this would be a pink sheet penny stock not worthy of investing btw so don't expect wall street coming any time soon !!

Too late for me here, and the pile of BS you wrote is too big.
I will respond tomorrow, if noone else had by then
Take it easy investor, iconomi is not a short term project
Yeh well it's turning out to be a very short term and crappy investment for those of us who partook in the IPO though thanks to listing soley on Kraken - the crappiest exchange out there!

Why have the developers made no attempt to list the ICN coin on Poloniex and Bittrex??

Just about ANY coin can be listed on Bitrex for a fee of 2 bitcoins and one would think that with the amount of money raised for this project that  2 bitcoins would be money well spent to at least get the coin listed on Bittrex - which is way better than Kraken!
Kraken has a crappy interface and also very low volumes.

The first prize would have been listing on Poloniex, and with some concerted marketing by the developers as well as feedback to Poloniex by the people on this thread - Poloniex would be happy to list ICN!
Unfortunately - neither seems to have occurred...

While ICN is listed soley on Kraken you can expect to see the continued slow demise of the ICN price!

Certainly if the ICONOMI development team were straight up about not intending to market the coin on Poloniex and Bittrex then i would NOT have bought into the IPO... price is already 20% down and while it's listed soley on Kraken i expect it will continue its downward trajectory.

It is so SLOW that it keeps on timing out... what is going on?Huh
26  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Any non-bank foreign exchange companies that support bitcoin??? on: May 20, 2015, 03:46:23 AM
Problem is I need to buy at around spot price which is why I'm trying to buy directly from the Exchanges.

My problem is trying to get my AUD into the exchange(s) without having to pay 3% (or more) in bank fees in getting the money in there.

Theese foreign exchange companies offer much lower rates, but the problem is they all seem to be spineless when it comes to standing up for peoples' rights to send their own money where they please.
27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Any non-bank foreign exchange companies that support bitcoin??? on: May 20, 2015, 03:15:56 AM
hi

I am located in Australia and have contacted a various different companies who specialise in foreign exchange transfers - which offer much better rates than the banks - in order to transfer Australian dollars to overseas located bitcoin exchange(s).

The problem is they ALL refuse me the right to send my OWN money to any organisation or individual (including legiitimate registered bitcoin exchanges) connected in any way with bitcoins!
The absolute nerve of it disgusts me and makes them even lower scum than the big banks in my eyes!

A few such lowlife scumbag foreign exchange companies are listed here:
OzzForex
TorFX
World First
Currencyfair.com

For some (dumb) reason I expected that these non-bank companies would actually have a pro-bitcoin stance, but instead appear to have their heads even deeper up their own asses than the banks do!

So my question to you all is - ARE THERE ANY SUCH FOREIGN EXCHANGE COMPANIES THAT ACTUALLY ALLOW PEOPLE TO USE THEIR OWN MONEY TO PURCHASE BITCOINS???

29  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum Wallet not connecting… on: May 06, 2015, 01:10:35 AM
okay thank you. I will try that now.

I just don't know how to move this thread? Can a moderator do it?
30  Bitcoin / Electrum / Electrum Wallet not connecting… on: May 06, 2015, 12:53:51 AM
hi everybody!

I am hoping that somebody on this site can help me out here!?

I recently installed Electrum 2.1.1 onto my windows 7 PC and this morning elected to send about 12 bitcoins from an exchange to one of the receiving wallet addresses in my Electrum wallet…

I only noticed afterwards that my Electrum wallet is not connected! It says “Not connected” in the bottom left of the app and the Network circle/icon in the bottom right of the screen is red!

I've tried changing the settings there – it was on “auto” by default – i tried selecting one of the default servers – still wouldn't connect.

So now i'm stuck with this version of Electrum – with its wallet! I dare not uninstall and re-install else i will lose that wallet address to which my coins have been sent!

I hope that somebody can advise me on how i can get this Electrum wallet to connect!? I dont understand how such a mainstream and popular bitcoin wallet could have an issue like this which could potentially result in the user losing thousands upon thousands of dollars?

I would have thought (and hoped) that somebody linked to the Bitcoinwisdom app would have made a comment by now on what the issue is and the approximate ETA to a fix!??
32  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: BitcoinWisdom.com - Live Bitcoin/LiteCoin Charts on: February 06, 2015, 07:36:55 AM
I have used Bitcoinwisdom as a charting app for over a year now and have never had an issues with it!

This morning I had a tab on Firefox reserved for Bitcoinwisdom (as usual) and noticed that i was not logged in on Bitcoinwisdom... so i decided to actually log in for a change.

BIG MISTAKE!!!

Since then i constantly get the following error message for most exchanges:

Load failed, retry after 5 seconds.

Probably Reason
    BitcoinWisdom is temporary down
    Domain is not bitcoinwisdom.com
    Network issue

I say MOST and not all, because if i click on Huobi then it actually downloads all data and displays all data/graphics as per normal.
However, if i click on any of the other exchanges on the front page, eg. Bitstamp, BTC-e, Bitfinex then i get the above error!

After restarting my PC a few times and seeing the problem persisted, I tried to find a solution to this by googling...
one solution which seemed to come up a few times was to change my DNS settings to that of Google (USA).
But that has not worked!!

I am now DESPERATE to find a solution to this!! Please help....

ok thanks odolvlobo - i believe you are correct in that it is a more general problem!

I've asked a few fellow bitcoiners here to check the site and they have the same problem.

also, my smartphone gets the same problem message, so that's ultimate proof its not a setting on my PC or even my internet thats the issue.

Am wondering howcome Bitcoinwisdom haven't fixed it yet or even made any announcements about the issue?
34  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoinwisdom: Load failed, retry after 5 seconds. on: February 06, 2015, 01:31:59 AM
ummm ... actually no!

Most people are having no problem connecting with Bitcoinwisdom. If there was a general issue trust me it would be big news!

I have researched this problem as best i can, and while i cannot find a solution, i know that many people encounter this problem, although its still a small minority...
If it wasn't the application would be finished!

36  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HOW TO fund exchange accounts from US bank accounts?? on: December 12, 2014, 04:37:54 AM
thanks for that. i think i need to explore the PayPal option a bit further...
Unfortunately all the US bank accounts i have are ALL anti-bitcoin!
I've tried opening a credit union acount, but am finding it impossible due to their draconian requirements ito residence and ID requirements.
I have found only ONE credit union which is willing to accept non-residents, but then they are much stricter than the banks in that they wont accept a passport as sufficient ID but also require a SS No or a TAX no, which none of the banks required!
And then they (incorrectly) blame the Patriot Act, which is bullsh1t - it's their own stupid policy.

I feel very frustrated at the moment!
37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / HOW TO fund exchange accounts from US bank accounts?? on: December 12, 2014, 03:40:15 AM
hi everybody

I am a bitcoin trader working on a relatively thin profit margin via the Localbitcoins website. My main (and biggest) problem at the moment is HOW to use my US bank accounts to fund one or more bitcoin exchanges so that i can BUY bitcoins there. I am not interested in selling bitcoins on the exchanges at all ... i prefer to do that via LocalBitcoins site.

I am hoping that somebody out there who is already successfully doing this will share exactly HOW they do this with the rest of us who would like to know how.
I know some very successful traders who are already doing this, but they refuse to give me any details on how they do it.

Perhaps i am just looking into a solid brick wall, and am failing to see an open gate which is just to the left or right of my periphery vision... ?

But this is my current view of the problem:
1. I have money in my US bank account(s) but see it as problematic to get some of that money into a bitcoin exchange due to the following reasons:
A. Assuming i find an exchange to which i can send money to at an acceptable cost i am afraid that the bank(s) will pick up my transfer as a transfer to a bitcoin exchange and will then close my bank account!
B. Even if i find a bank/exchange combination that gels together then there's the issue of conversion costs, i.e. the costs involved in getting say 1000 USD into my exchange account ... how much of that 1000 USD will actually reach my account?
Just as one example... btc-e.com allows for (international) wire transfers and Money Polo as a way of getting money into your btc-e account, but for each of these methods they take off 1% of the deposited amount! Notwithstanding that, the actual method of transfer (eg banks involved in transfer or Money Polo itself) will typically take about 3 to 4% of the transferred amount in fees!! So thats a total of between 4 and 5% of your money to be transferred that is GONE! So out of 1000 USD you probably wont get more than 950 USD arriving in your BTC-e account, with which you must now purchase coins.
Is this still profitable if there is only an approximate 5% margin for profit?  I dont see how... ??

I would GREATLY appreciate the opinions and especially the experiences of other TRADERS out there who face similar challenges? How do they make it work and still make a profit on selling bitcoins?

same issue here!

wtf???
39  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: BitcoinWisdom.com - Live Bitcoin/LiteCoin Charts on: March 05, 2014, 12:43:17 AM
Yes, It would be added. But they have not updated the API yet.

Okay thanks - we all look forward to the addition of BTC-China's LTC/CNY pair - especially because there will be a 0% commission/trading fee - which is of course absolute MUSIC TO OUR EARS!!  Wink
40  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Haasonline Simple Trade Bot For BTCe and Bitstamp[Main topic] on: February 25, 2014, 12:41:31 AM
Can anybody please explain to me:

1. As an 'old' customer having bought the STB bot in December 2013, how much do i need to pay in to get the full version of the trading server?
2. how much would it have cost to get the full trading server if i was a new customer who did not have the STB?
